821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will there be an "antique coin collector" community in the future? on: April 18, 2017, 11:07:38 AM
there is a big problem with this:
1) if a cryptocurrency dies that means there is no longer anyone mining it, there is no blockchain and there are no nodes. you having any dogecoin can not be proven since there is no blockchain and it is just a number on your computer unless you collect the code. the source code or the blockchain which requires a huge storage space for each coin.

2) Fungibility. i am not an expert in this but coins are not different from each other and unless you can get your hands on block rewards as in the coinbase transaction created in first block or blocks lower than a certain number i don't see any "collector's value" to it.

with all that said, this is just my opinion and i am not a collector Roll Eyes
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is YoBit.net provably fair ? on: April 18, 2017, 10:54:32 AM
It does not have correspond between many players and provably fair, because AFAIK they have many players because of they are exchanger so many people do the trading there and some of them only aim their gambling

well that's the thing. i have pointed out this problem in my previous answer. their platform is terrible. have you even tried it yet?
anybody who has tried their services know it is very bad. and as long as there are by far better services out there, why would anyone even choose this platform!
you are advertising bitsler in your signature so i am sure you have visited their site since you get paid there. now go visit Yobit's dice section and see what i mean when i say "terrible platform"
823  Economy / Gambling / Re: ADMIRALSPOT.COM | DEPOSIT 0.5 BTC PLAY WITH 1 BTC on: April 18, 2017, 10:44:26 AM
there is also another really nice project that would also help... it is called Brave Browser. https://brave.com/ i checked out almost all sites and its really nice and works great. it also helps to knock down the adverts on websites.

sorry to be offtopic here since you said it i should ask, wasn't brave browser supposed to be like THE browser to use to see the advertisements not to block them.
because i remember reading that it is supposed to manage ads within browser and pay the users for seeing additional ads inside the browser and pay them with bitcoin.
824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC: moon or doom? on: April 16, 2017, 12:33:50 PM
the thing about litecoin that you need to know is that it always has a lot of potential, as it always had. the pumps are always big, there is never a small half-ass pump. and Chinese are crazy about this coin. Chinese exchanges have only 2 coins listed: bitcoin and litecoin!

on top of all these things litecoin SegWit is now at 80.21% and within 1 days, 19 hours, 47 minutes from my typing this SegWit will be activated.

all the while, traders have been silently accumulating and then dumping if price tries to go above 0.0098-0.01BTC in order to be able to accumulate more in low prices.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is YoBit.net provably fair ? on: April 16, 2017, 12:10:47 PM
Is YoBit.net provably fair ?
most probably not.
i have asked this question many times, even sent them a ticket but never got any answers. the only conclusion is that they want to cheat their users with a non-fair dice game.

Quote
And why so many players there.
most things you see on yobit are fake. the volumes, the order history, the orderbook, also the bet history.
but also there are many signature campaign participants that are populating that site. and on top of that since they give out free coins, many use those shit-dead-coins to make bets with. these are coins in their free coin tab which you can never sell because 1000 units of many of them is worth 1 satoshi.
what i see is simple design from year 1990.
what so special that 2 Millions players go there  every month ?
no way the real number is even remotely close to that!
they have less than 100 signature participants and from those i doubt if a handful play the games or even trade.
826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins have the highest potential tps currently? on: April 16, 2017, 12:02:58 PM
ZEIT  20X  bitcoin's current Onchain Transaction Capacity.
i have checked it out.
ZEIT  also has 2000X  bitcoin's current orphan rate.

the number of orphans created by ZEIT is about 1500 to 2000 blocks per day.

Our price is extremely low until the ultra low inflation activates in the next month or so.
when price falls under 1 satoshi we no longer call it "extremely low" we call it dead coin.
no inflation change can save or change the price anymore.
current price is 0.6 satoshi!

But you could probably buy $100 worth of ZEIT and have ~ same % of coins as the BTC spammers,
Feel free to hit ZEIT with a spam attack, take your best shot. Cheesy
FYI:
Our Transaction fee is fixed and are all served in the order they appear in the mempool , none of that BTC shenanigans requiring higher fees.  Wink
spam attack on a network where blocks are empty is useless.
asking for more fee on a network that nobody uses is also useless. which means whether fee was 1 zeit or 1 trillion zeit that would have made no difference.

FYI2:
No Limits on our Offchain Transaction Capacity,
reason being we will use multiple 3rd partys to do offchain , (No need for deadwit)
currently Cryptopia & NovaExchange you can send ZEIT offchain to another user on their exchanges,
it only comes back onchain when you withdraw from their exchanges.
why would you even need offchain when your chain can handle it Wink
and FYI if we wanted to use third parties we would have used banks not cryptocurrencies.
827  Economy / Gambling / Re: ADMIRALSPOT.COM | DEPOSIT 0.5 BTC PLAY WITH 1 BTC on: April 16, 2017, 11:45:33 AM
~snip~
No false advertisment tactics, already requested the developers to change the title but thanks for the heads up. Also you can play anonymus, the KYC vertification only needed if you want to withdraw to a different wallet adress from your deposit adress. Smiley
This is contradiction. It's not anonymous if you ask ID's when player change his bitcoin address - which is the whole purpose of bitcoin.

Also, it's stated in your ToS that you don't accept players from US, and still you are allowing them to register:

Why?

that is possibly because the list of countries is an automatic generated list. most sites are like this, their designer usually forgets to explicitly exclude the countries they don't accept until someone points it out to them. (i have seen this issue with many new services).
but if your registration from US was successful that is different though. was it?
828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins have the highest potential tps currently? on: April 15, 2017, 11:27:52 AM
edit: a simple hint:
higher TPS > more transactions per second (each transaction takes space) > bigger blocks > blockchain size increasing at a much faster speed > storage problems
+
higher TPS > more number of transactions > more network traffic needed from nodes to propagate these transactions + more system resources needed to validate them
=
less running nodes, low network security and lots more in long run.

p.s. i'd genuinely love to see how any of these coins can handle a spam attack like bitcoin is experiencing.

The solution seems to be to explore new ways of organizing decentralized ledgers, apart of using chains. Chains are serial, and Block 1 has to come before Block 2 (transaction ordering). It will always be a bottleneck. We have to parallelize the processing of transactions and get rid of transaction ordering to speed things up.

interesting, any examples i can check when i get some time?
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins have the highest potential tps currently? on: April 15, 2017, 11:19:29 AM
bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency with ability to handle TPS at whatever rate it currently is.

All valid points, but I strongly disagree with your conclusion. It's been proven many times that Bitcoin can't handle enough TPS, there have been over 100k unconfirmed transactions recently, which is just not good enough.

Sadly all blockchains suffer from the limitation of transaction ordering. Off-chain is a solution, but will introduce new problems/complexity (trust, cost of opening payment channel etc.)

read my p.s. and that is a genuine interest of mine wanting to see how other altcoins can handle a spam attack as massive scale as bitcoin (100K tx) and as long as bitcoin (2-3 years).

and yeah, there is always going to be limitations and downsides in any system. nothing is perfect.
830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins have the highest potential tps currently? on: April 15, 2017, 11:09:29 AM
there are at least a 100 topics on this subject which you can search for and find lists of alts after alts saying they have the highest speed of transactions.

but having faster transactions on its own is meaningless. instead you should ask
- how their network is doing? is there even nodes running by users (real decentralization) or is it a couple of nodes by a couple of services and mining pools.
- how is the orphan rate? and how is the risk of double spend!
- how is the hashrate distribution? is there any risk of different types of attacks.
- how big is their blockchain if you want to use their wallet, or run a full node at home. and how big is it going to be in a year, 2 or 8 years from now?

ask these questions and some more (that i can not remember right now) and you will end up concluding bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency with ability to handle TPS at whatever rate it currently is.

edit: a simple hint:
higher TPS > more transactions per second (each transaction takes space) > bigger blocks > blockchain size increasing at a much faster speed > storage problems
+
higher TPS > more number of transactions > more network traffic needed from nodes to propagate these transactions + more system resources needed to validate them

831  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 FAST bets, chat, play & invest, WAGERING COMPETITION NOW! on: April 15, 2017, 10:58:21 AM
however monthly wagered stats are not visible yet.

I think monthly stats aren't needed unless there is any monthly wager contest or something like that is active.

the monthly wagered amount is useful and i can even say nessasary since you guys are accepting investors.

and YOLODice actually has something similar, unless i am mistaken it is in this tab: https://yolodice.com/#stats/investor
it has a very nice chart which is showing the stats for the investors. if you mouse over the chart it shows each day's data on top right of the chart.
at the bottom chart it is "Wagered BTC" and on top left it shows in numbers with short form "W"
for example 2017-4-9 was 12.652...BTC
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Monthly Best Gambling Site (April 2017) on: April 15, 2017, 10:50:23 AM
i would say bustabit, why it is not on the list ?
It is. Look at 6th on the list. Bustabit just has low votes as well as primedice and nitrogen and so forth.
They are already amazing website that did well and keeps going well, this is more for casino’s who are up and comer not established ones. Hence why bitsler is doing this well.

in the end, it will all come down to each user's personal preference.
i have even argued before in second or third round of this topic, that listing all these sites together is not 100% right.
because for example you can't say i like bitsler and don't like a sportsbook site for example. they are different games in different categories and having them all in one list is like comparing apples and oranges.

but i have to hand it to OP that the multi choice poll made it much better.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ASICs and cellphone encryption on: April 14, 2017, 01:41:24 PM
these things need some king of incentive to be made. a high level encryption on cell phones is not necessary since most people aren't really looking for it.

with a lower voice i have to add some 3 letter agencies will do anything they can to prevent addition of hardware to cellphones that allow users hide their personal matters from them. Wink
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MoneyPot & Investors on: April 14, 2017, 01:26:36 PM
so much drama these days, what is up!

we know that investment in moneypot (for some reason) has not bee the best for a long time. i have watched it for a while when i wanted to invest and since i didn't see it as profitable as other options, i changed my mind. I never saw 400BTC or saw any deletion of posts or in general any shenanigan though. that is investment, some businesses are profitable and some aren't. learn to find the best to invest in, instead of making weird accusations.

coul dyou please explain what you want to say with this paragraph? I really didnt understand it. you never saw 400 BTC! what do you mean? you never saw MP investors had 400 BTC profit? you didnt see deleted postings? how could you see deleted postings if it is not yours? I can show you a lot of my postings deleted by MP owner. but maybe I did not understand your point so please explain

thx

His language is hard to understand, I'm not sure what I'm going to say here is true, but I hope it helps you. He sees a lot of things develop, investment moneypot is an example of what he said. He has been looking at it for a long time, but it seems that the profit from it is not enough to attract him. And he has never seen an investment of any kind which is of great value - 400BTC for example. So, he needs the best ways to invest, and of course he does not need the accusations about it.
I hope I'm right with what he says, he has a very confusing language.
Regards
Paul

i could see why JackpotRacer nitpicking that particular part only but another user saying my English is bad! is it that bad or are you just messing with me.
i did some edits to make it more "grammatically correct" i hope that helped!

as a summary:
- the investment in moneypot is not the most profitable based on my observations.
- in the time i spent observing moneypot and also based on the link that i gave the loss was never big as OP claims.
- things that OP says such as accusing admins with database access to steal are just empty accusations without proof.
835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum on: April 14, 2017, 12:18:12 PM
I have specifically choosen not to do a multiple choice type of survey, because I want to know WHY you like it or WHY you dont like it. Thanks for your advice though.
as i said people won't spend time typing but they will click on multi choices.

Quote
I have a question where you can say what the disadvantages of Ethereum is.
in order of magnitude of the top of my mind:
1) Centralization
2) A big ICO which worked as its premine
3) Bug in the code
4) Manipulations of price
5) Extremely large supply, no max amount (no cap)
6) A huge blockchain size which is growing at a very fast speed
7) Terrible platform, bad wallet, not at all user friendly
edit) i remembered another one: their advertising campaign is annoying and full of lies. the amount of spam by them is unbelievable during pumps.

Quote
I agree that some of the questions need some work as English is not my native language.

Gladly I'm not your student lol. Student can make mistakes and I'm not afraid of making one. I learn by it and makes me grow as a person.
well, no offense but this survey has no academic value and i am saying this as someone with an academic degree and some experience in this matter.
and the problem is not at all your English.

here is a short and non technical help just to give you some idea: https://oqi.wisc.edu/resourcelibrary/uploads/resources/Survey_Guide.pdf

Thanks.
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum on: April 13, 2017, 09:38:34 AM
post the direct link (docs.google.com) instead of the shortened version (goo.gl) and it should show up even if you are a newbie member.

and your questions are very bad because you are making an assumption that ethereum is good and based all your questions on that.

your first question starts like this:
Quote
Ethereum has a lot of advantages over Bitcoin. Which of the advantages do you like the most and why do you like that?

and to be honest this seems more like an advertisement of this coin rather than being a legit "university research on Blockchain and platforms running on the Blockchain"

also a questionnaire like this should be a multi-choice one because people won't waste their times typing answers but they can choose between choices easily.
google some studies on how to create a proper multi-choice questionnaire and try again because what i saw is a very terrible thing. and as i said you are not really asking questions, you made an assumption on etherum being good and then implied some additional stuff.
even if it were good you shouldn't be asking it like that.

to be honest if you were my student, i would have failed you when i saw this type of question.

here is my feedback:

* the site looks too simple, mostly reminds me of the design of PD. i think it is best that you work a little on the design.

* i claimed the faucet but it gave me an error that my balance should be zero (it wasn't zero i had an initial 200 satoshi) so i made a bet and lost. then claimed the faucet and it gave an error that i should wait.
i think the timer may not recognize a failed claim.

* also the captcha doesn't seem to change. it is always on 2DE8 Cheesy

* the side bar on right always stays there until i log-in but i can continue playing! and also when i click on autobet it goes under than right pannel which makes it impossible to see the rest of it
addition with all these things they don't have any ssl layer to site .why ?

the site actually supports https encryption. it is just not enforced.
visit the website link with manually added https before the url and you will see it is fine.
look at the picture below:

i am not an expert but it has something to do with the headers they send. it needs to change to show the site supports and enforces https.
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC round 2 begins? on: April 12, 2017, 11:08:01 AM
For now LTC price is at $10.5 I don't know where'd you get your $12? looks like LTC is to heavy to pump it up like DASH and ETH, they were below $10 and suddenly sky rocketed, artificial pump.

it is best to speculate altcoin prices ins bitcoin not in USD because most people are trading them versus bitcoin anyways and in the end there is only bitcoin that everyone withdrawas and holds.

and yes it is something similar to Dash and Eth but with some differences.
for example it is a pump and price can be considered inside a bubble.
but also the difference is that Dash and ETh pumped based on lies and not really anything useful in their coins while litecoin is going up because it is releasing a very game changing improvement called SegWit. and that has a big effect on everything.
