181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that might survive in the future? on: August 29, 2017, 09:45:35 AM
I will go, on one hand, with altcoins that are traded in most exchanges. LTC, DOGE, ETH and XMR come to mind. At the very least, they will be useful to move money between exchanges without using BTC, and also their base markets are likely to be helpful.

On the other hand there are coins that are helpful without depending on BTC... IOTA and such.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Become A Bitcoin Expert on: August 29, 2017, 09:30:50 AM
I agree with fellow posters. Read the forum... I have learned most of the things I know from reading it and seeing a small video about what bitcoin is at the beggining in official bitcoin website.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ICOmagazine.com - News about ICO / Crowdfunding on: August 28, 2017, 06:44:14 AM
Looks good. It is great to have all ICOs gathered in one place to check them easier. There are just too many to keep track and this site eases thing for us.

Thanks for this
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 7th of 40 Rounds on: August 28, 2017, 06:40:00 AM
I tried to read the OP but got overwhelmed because of its extension, so just one little question. Do I have to be connected to the deepweb to use this coin?

Thanks
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I love and hate altcoins on: August 27, 2017, 11:06:58 PM
yeah, like OP have earned and lost using altcoins. But I do mostly like them. I would love to see them more alive now... seems like faucets, giveaways and bonuses for new alts has reduced a lot lately.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best upcoming ICO on: August 27, 2017, 10:59:54 PM
There seem to be too much ICOs this days, and even though many coins are innovative and all, common sense tells us most of them will not go very far. I prefer to hold on to my BTC better than throwing it in an ICO right now.
187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Atomic chain swap between btc and ltc on: August 27, 2017, 10:56:10 PM
LTC has a quite long tradition of being crypto-silver and this would make that nearer to reality. I hold quite a few LTC and would love it to have 25% Bitcoin value... or even will be comfortable with it surpassing BTC.

Atomic swap sounds great. Hope to see a lot of coins working on that in the future so it does not mind much which coin you hold.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: August 26, 2017, 09:10:00 AM
Hi guys. What's all that about a pump? I see that the price is just at the same point that it was yesterday when I went to sleep.

However I am yet holding on mine too  Grin
189  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Money 💰💰💰 on: August 26, 2017, 09:05:15 AM
Money should not be as important in our lives as it is. Many factors make it so important:

-We put too much trust in it, as if it could solve everything. It can solve some problems, but not all.

-We need to keep a certain status not to be embarrassed by people around us calling us "losers" or having pity on us for living humbly. We could live with much less, and probably be much happier, but the environment (tv, people around us etc) presses on to convince us that that is no life.

190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Launches SegWit, Max Keiser Raises ‘Interim’ Price to $10,000 on: August 26, 2017, 08:52:31 AM
About 3 years ago, people were speculating about a 10000$ bitcoin and I think they were mad. But now I think it is possible. Would like it dumped a bit to get more, but probably it is good to buy as it is as it is likely to go much higher.
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: fluctuating btc price on: August 26, 2017, 08:36:49 AM
The thing with segwit is that there was the bicoincash issue too. People did have some doubts, but also wanted to hold their BTC in order to get more BCC/BCH. In fact, there were huge movements in lending, some people offering 5% daily and more in polo because they wanted to hoard BTC to get BCH.
192  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin is a rat poison? on: August 26, 2017, 08:30:51 AM
Well, Warren Buffet is a value investor. He invest in things that he thinks have a lot of value (companies that make valuable things and such).

Bitcoin is more like something that represents value, but does not have much value in itself. Bitcoin is money ... I read him (Buffet) say that the value in Bitcoin is in its ability to carry value (transfers, anonimity and all) but that did not justify its high price right now.

193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: August 26, 2017, 08:21:38 AM
Bitcoin as it is now is evolving and will evolve more in the future. It could happen that some other currency replace it, but it is not probable and is not as if Bitcoin will stay just the same while others become more and more sophisticated.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BITCOIN LITE - TRUE LITE VERSION OF BITCOIN on: August 25, 2017, 05:45:36 PM
It is refreshing to see a new POS coin with a high interest. Did not see one in a while. How can I earn some bounty? I can translate English into Spanish, or do some posting if you like.

Good luck
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA on: August 25, 2017, 08:50:10 AM
Come to think of it, a friend of mine recommended me IOTA around 3 weeks ago and I think it has gone up in value ever since. Where is the exchange where I could get some of it?
196  Economy / Economics / Re: lest we forget, Bitcoin is a blessing. on: August 25, 2017, 08:39:34 AM
For me it has been a blessing in it's more pure sense, as it helps me get a living online. Thanks the Lord for it... lets see if we can keep away from greed and making mistakes with this wonderful and revolutionary coin.
197  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEGWIT, where are the lower fees? on: August 25, 2017, 08:19:03 AM
So one has to send to new segwit addresses in order to use segwit? did not know anything about that.

If that is the case, it will surely happen slowly. Many people just will use their old-faithful address.

198  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you have 1 BTC , is it good decisions to go all-in in 1 coins? on: August 25, 2017, 08:13:06 AM
It is better to diversify. Even if the coin you think will skyrocket does skyrocket... it is better to be wise and control risk than just o be a lucky gambler who just got luck.

199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that in near future BTC would be connected with mobile number? on: August 25, 2017, 08:05:17 AM
I think there would be some benefit from running full nodes. In fact, I think there should be some benefit from doing so right now. A percentage of the fees from transactions or something... they will surely find a way in addition to the fees that are put in place already.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Three reasons to invest in Bitcoin on: August 24, 2017, 02:00:10 PM
Yes, these are very good reasons that I tend to use when I speak about bitcoin to others. Other reasons is that it is secure (you cannot fake Bitcoin, and even cash can be fake). People also tend to say "I do not trust some bits in a computer, I trust in cold hard cash" not realizing cash is based only in the trust people put on it. Just as Bitcoin.

Is as much money as any money and more.
