I know bitcoin is not a stock and all that. But with other assets, when there is a well known event that might affect price, price is already affected many months before the event comes. Halving is near enough to be reflected in price, but it does not seem to be affected it yet. That is somewhat strange.

Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 5000$ soon

I find that 5000 dollars is pretty far away yet. In fact perhaps it will never be reached. There are lots of altcoins and I think the value will be spread among all currencies

Economy / Speculation / Re: why do you buy bitcoins?

I personally buy them because their trading potential /volatility. You buy, then sell higher, then buy again lower, then sell= profit in more bitcoins. I do not sell them to dollars, just try to make my bitcoin ammount bigger.

It is very hard to not sell when you see a good profit and have been waiting and stuck without selling for a long time. That is, if you are trader. If you are just a holder like those that do not even check prices, then it is easier.

Economy / Speculation / Re: $350 is the new barrier?

I think there is kinda like an invisible barrier at around 407-410 and other at 424 or so. Price is not moving outside those two barriers for a while now.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price? Who is making it?
|
on: March 31, 2016, 06:15:19 PM

People who have the most bitcoin are the ones that are making the price. If they decide to hold, then the price holds or goes up. If they decide to sell, they lower the price.

Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin = $1,000,000

I think that even if that happens, the figures are deceptive. If 1 Bitcoin ends un having a value of 1 million dollars, it would not be like 1 million dollar now. If BTC has that value, dollars will have a much lower value...
