21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has Dogecoin reached it's full potential (Price)? on: October 28, 2017, 11:22:30 AM
In my view the potential of dogecoin is that it allows fast and very cheap transfers among exchanges. Sending BTC or even LTC between exchanges is somewhat expensive and not instant. With dogecoin is cheap (18-100 satoshis as of now) and instant.

Yes, supply guarantees its price will go down. But I cannot go down too fast while there are lots of people buying doge to send their coins from one place to another.

Although it is also true that some value is lost in the transfer, as you'll usually have to sell them cheaper than you bought them  Undecided
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi Nakamoto Alive on: October 27, 2017, 10:45:43 PM
I think he perhaps is even involved in BTC yet, maybe one of the members of core team in secret. But who does really now? Good thing is Bitcoin goes on without him.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fork worries. on: October 27, 2017, 10:43:28 PM
There has been already two forks. Both of them have been a great opportunity to cash in some more bitcoin, and it is likely that the november one will be just the same. I would not been surprised even if it did not happen, seeing the lack of success of the previous two forks.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I stll don't know what to do with my Bitcoins... on: October 26, 2017, 09:37:06 PM
Even though there is not as many bitcoin stores, it is not hard to convert bitcoin to cash and just spend it if that is what you want. I have used it to pay for big expenses doing that.
25  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bonus Bitcoin down on: October 26, 2017, 08:52:43 PM
yeah, it is likely an attack if other faucets have been attacked too. For sure coinpot comes handy at this situation.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin online payments on: October 24, 2017, 03:30:44 PM
It will be really great to see youtube paying in Bitcoin. If they took the first step and began to pay that way, it would advance mass adoption a lot.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: October 23, 2017, 08:02:57 PM
I think they have a present, most likely. That is, in the future it is probable that they keep going on as they are now, used by some people to speculate and trade with them with close to zero real-world usage. And that does not need to be bad at all....

You have your obscure altcoin, (i.e: johndoecoin) go to a shop, and pay with your coins that are converted on the fly to BTC by a lightning fast exchange service. Cool, I envision something like that.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Gold on Yobit.net on: October 23, 2017, 07:55:49 PM
They simply are selling futures. They turn BTC wallets off (you cannot withdraw) and simply let the people "trade" the BTG as if they already have it.

Once the fork happens they get the BTG of all users and it is for them as they already paid it in advance, plus they have the Bitcoins in their exchange of the users who wanted to get early. Is a great move, and I do not see anything wrong with it.

PS: I already dumped the BTG received there with a good profit  Cool
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Drops on: October 22, 2017, 08:54:46 PM
In my around 3 year experience with bitcoin, it has always gone down significantly when bad news have appeared:

That's what happened recently with the china issue. I find it harder to predict when will it go up fast. But bad news, even FUD, make it go down.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hold more Bitcoin or Buy Altcoin in the red zone on: October 21, 2017, 11:36:59 AM
i think better buy more altcoin, because until now i didn't heard about exchange or wallet that will support this Bicoingold,,
maybe somebody can tell me what exchange or wallet that support this hardfork ?
thanks

Looks like Yobit will be supporting it. They have even set up a timer for Bitcoin gold balances to be added https://yobit.net/en/bitcoingold/timer

They also have been offering high yield for investing BTC there (although seems dry now), so they are very likely going for it fully.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / How low will dogecoin go? on: October 21, 2017, 11:33:24 AM
I have quite a bunch of dogecoins bought at higher prices (20+ sat and more), due to the BTG craze, they are selling really cheap and I have sold at 16 with the intention of getting them back a little lower (15 or even 14 sats)...

What do you think? Will DOGE reach that low? seems clear that it will happen
32  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: and bitcoin brakes $6000 now on: October 21, 2017, 06:50:48 AM
Probably there is much money going in from people who want to get BTC gold for free. Should go down a little after the fork

But thing is we have another upcoming fork soon in November....Will it get to 7000$ then? or will it go down after the BTG fork then regain the 6000$+ when the upcoming segwit2x fork approaches?

33  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the BTC price go up or down after the 25th Oct fork? on: October 21, 2017, 06:42:29 AM
Yes, it will likely go down. The price we are seeing for BTC now is the price of two coins inside one (BTC and BTG).

What will likely happen is that part of the value will go probably to BTG at the beginning, then, as people sell BTG, will have more BTC but less $ value for each, the total value remaining more or less the same.
34  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Don't doubt the power of Faucets! on: October 20, 2017, 11:14:17 AM
OP, I honestly would like to know what is your strategy (this is not sarcasm, I would love if you explained it or PMed me about it).

I say that because I have used freebitcoin for quite a time. The interest is good for sure, but it only ammounts for about 1 satoshi per day for 10,000 satoshis stored. That is not much, and you need to have full bitcoins there in order to get a really decent return... and you cannot I cannot get full bitcoins just for fauceting.

Perhaps with referrals is possible, but don't know a good way to get referrals, and I cannot think of a way of getting them passively.

Lastly, I do not consider faucets to be a waste of time. There was a time not long ago when I could gather 100k from faucets in under 30 minutes, and that is a decent pay now. As some say, it is not that easy to get a paying job in some countries, and fauceting is better than nothing when you consider that the few cents you are earning now, can convert to dollars or hundreds in the near future.

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: October 18, 2017, 10:00:43 PM
Although it is not stakable, it has been moving quite a bit recently in exchanges, as some are offering investing options in verge providing a yield of 0.3% daily (which is way more than the stake of a regular POS coin)
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many people against bitcoin? on: October 18, 2017, 08:38:28 AM
Fear of losing the things they already have basically. Even the average person with a small job does not want to invest just in case he loses something. Others think it is dangerous or a scam. All those things are fear manifesting.
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: This family bet it all on Bitcoin on: October 17, 2017, 09:52:53 PM
Too risky and crazy, but if they entered on this movement on summer (as the article says), they have already enriched themselves a lot if they put the money of a house, three cars etc. in when BTC price was 3000+

Anyway, even if they get rich... not well done to risk so much
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sold my Bitcoin today on: October 17, 2017, 11:27:38 AM
If you are prepared to wait until the fever due to the upcoming forks dissappear, you are likely to get a good profit. It happened with Bitcoin cash and is something that is likely to be repeated.
39  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the risk of holding Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2017, 06:00:16 AM
In addition to the price suffering a big crash to zero (which can happen but it is not too likely) I see the higher risk of losing the BTC due to hack or accident.

Hardware wallets could break down...
Paper wallets could be lost or burned (even if you put them in a safe you can forget the password or something)
Wallets in your HD can suffer from damage to HD...

Yeah, you can put several layers of security, but nothing is infallible... and if you have a good ammount of Bitcoin is too much money even for paper wallets, copied seeds or whatever. You can minimize the risks, but it is still a risk and in my view it is a much higher risk than Bitcoin going to zero.

You do not have that kind of risks with a regular savings account (although I agree you have others).
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia starting ‘CryptoRuble’ !!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: October 16, 2017, 06:38:42 PM
Appart from the coin having undesirable features (control, centralization and such), I think is not bad news. That will surely bring cryptocurrency awareness and likely be good for all of the crypto world..-
