341  Economy / Speculation / Re: The "Blow Off Phase"? on: June 24, 2017, 06:51:18 PM
Look the graph... when it reached the 2400$ and went down to 2000$. At that point it also looked like the "bull trap" in the second graph... but the "return to normal" and "fear" phases did not happen (or at least did not happen as the second graph might have predicted).
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: June 24, 2017, 06:46:18 PM
As I see it, Bitcoin is becoming more and more a tool to hold value for long periods of time. Many use it as gold or other investments that don't have a lot of movement. If it keeps on going in that direction, it will be quite fine.

You do not need a lot of transaction capability or very fast transfers when you do them only every once in a while. And that is what you do when you have an asset to hold value mostly. There are other coins for faster transfers (as LTC) and we can derive into having LTC for daily and fast use and BTC to store. Do not see a problem with that.

343  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: VirtualPub.io - Run your own pub/bar, serve drinks, earn bitcoin! on: June 22, 2017, 08:25:48 PM
Hi virtualpubbers, I have been working the game for around 3 months now, not very earnstly. Have 3 inventions all things upgraded to level 2... and still I find it is quite a slow earner. Does it become much faster with all inventions and upgrades?
344  Economy / Exchanges / Re: best way to cashout bitcoin on: June 20, 2017, 06:10:22 PM
I do not know if it has a competitive rate, but I use an app named chip-chap to cash my btc to halcash and withdraw the money in an atm near my home. I find it is one of the best ways if you really want to "cashout" (i.e. get "cash" from them). It is done without requiering personal data.

There are sites that make you a transfer to your bank account, but then you need to cashout when the transfer arrives.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: June 20, 2017, 06:01:19 PM
Wel... cash is better because it is accepted in all stores and such. But bitcoin is better as an investment or to hold value. You can convert them to cash quite easily too. At least where I live.
346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin hit 3500$ in 2018?  ??? on: June 20, 2017, 05:44:52 PM
I think that it is a very real possibility that this happens.

I did not believe a few months ago that it could reach 2700... but once that has happened, it can reach 3500 easily. People are beginning to be more aware, Bitcoin reaches news in tv more and more, and that brings more people in, which means more price.

It's like a snowball falling from a slope.
347  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Does Bitcoin Gain/Lose Value? on: June 19, 2017, 07:23:43 AM
I think that, for the most part, it has the value of the money people have put into it.

Imagine there were only 2 bitcoins. One is owned by user A, who paid 2000$ for it. The second is owned by user B who paid 1000$ for it.

Value of the whole Bitcoin network should be around 3000$ (A+B). Yeah, it will be more if there are people that want to pay more for it... but I think it is a good reference.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of many reasons why I love bitcoin on: June 17, 2017, 01:38:50 PM
I enjoy its price raises of course  Grin but the freedom of it and the opportunity to earn money by lending/trading/investing which is much easier that with traditional means (stocks, bonds, etc). Absolutely love that.

349  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I don't understand.. on: June 16, 2017, 07:00:56 PM
You can use your private keys to recover the wallet, just installing the wallet again and importing the private keys. At least as far as I know from other coins (Do not have a full BTC wallet).

Without keys, if the exchange dissappears your coin just dissappear.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: drop of the value... any reasons? on: June 15, 2017, 06:43:29 AM
Do not really know what is it, but every time it pulls back some people get scared and later (weeks or months) it ends recovering. I prefer to just wait and have patience. Did not expect the recent raise from the 1000's to the 2000's anyway, so better not panic now.
351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now Bitcoin Price Will Be Stable - 2700 USD, So No Rush To Sale on: June 14, 2017, 01:47:10 PM
Yeah, I am pretty sure it will maintain at about that price or perhaps a little lower. They are becoming increasingly difficult to mine and there is not so much possibility for new coins as there were before. You do not want to sell when it is becoming very difficult to get them back again.

352  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Accidentally sent LTC to BTC address on: June 14, 2017, 09:51:38 AM
You should have received an error on sending. If it eventually went through, transaction should not be approved and reimbursed to your wallet once it does not get confirmations for some time. Or at least that is what I am told will happen...
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: June 13, 2017, 06:26:55 PM
I read about it on 2014. Was going to pay the monthly suscription to a service and it allowed payment in Bitcoin. Then I researched and got to know Bitcoin faucets, then this forum. Very happy it happened so and got to know the fabulous bitcoin world.

354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recommended wallet on: June 13, 2017, 06:24:23 PM
The only one I have really tested is Multibit HD, but it is fast, easy to use, and it does not take a lot of space.

I like the feature of it being safeguarded by the pastphrase too. Recommended.
355  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslims, Terror and the Front Page! on: June 13, 2017, 06:17:04 PM
Seems to me that they got tired of their countries being controlled/influenced by other countries. There is violent people in every nation, terrorist managed to gather the violent ones in their country appealing to nationalism and religion.

356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: June 13, 2017, 12:30:09 PM
I think trading is the best source yet. This is due to volatility in Bitcoin/altcoins. You sure can find some small jobs for bitcoins like signature campaigns and all, but it is not so easy and there is not much variety except from advertising gambling-like things.

Perhaps faucets could be the starting source for some thousands satoshis to start trading if you want to do it from scratch.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where the hell is Satoshi? on: June 13, 2017, 09:16:20 AM
Well there are many satoshi threads, but it is good to have another one every once in a while. It reminds us of the mistery of Bitcoin and the possibility that sharp changes happen if the coins in satoshi address are moved.
358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we going to 5,000 $/btc ? on: June 12, 2017, 02:42:27 PM
I think 5000 would mean many many new dollars put into Bitcoin. Do not think that is possible in such a short time. It is true that the price doubled in just days, but to get a 1500 dollar raise is not the same as to raise by 2000$ AFTER having raised that 1500.

That would mean too much new money put into bitcoin in too short a time. $5000 by the year end is more likely.
359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Demise of bitcoin under Eth on: June 12, 2017, 02:30:54 PM
There is a thing that clearly tells that BTC is not about to be kicked: people in the streets (not altcoin nerds) mostly know about just one coin, and that is BTC.

However popular ETH may be among crypto-population (and although it clearly has potential to speculate with) it cannot compete in popularity with BTC. There are lots and lots of people that only know about BTC. Very few that only know about Eth.

360  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What Exchange do you use? on: June 12, 2017, 02:26:33 PM
I very much like Poloniex. It is huge, with high volume trading and the great lending option to get interest from your BTC quite safely.

I also like cryptopia a lot. There are altcoins that you can only trade there and chat is quite fun.
