How about just a heavy duty fire rated safe?

Pfffft that's the first place I'd look if I were going to rob you. Come on man.

You should just take your encrypted private key, stick it on a microchip, insert it into somewhere on your bosy (wrist? Foot? Idk?) then just use it when you need to. People can't just whack you with a wrench and steal it because they need the passphrase.

Other than that, just choose cool places around your house or in parks. Up a tree, in the gutters, just make sure your private key is on something that won't break down like thick metal or something like that. Hiding your private key in weird places is better than putting it in obvious places like a safe or a lock box IMO. Just encrypt it so if a random finds it it's useless, then hide them in 3 different locations. Done!
122  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I accidentally sent LTC to wrong address on: February 02, 2018, 04:03:23 AM
The only ting you can do is to contact the ICO and say what you did. It's probably going to take time for them to extract your funds but it should be possible.

If you invested in a scam ICO then the good news is your funds would have been gone either way so there's nothing to worry about!
123  Economy / Reputation / Re: aTriz and Lauda just got merit! on: February 02, 2018, 03:58:24 AM
You kidding me. you tagged me with Negative trust I will not post any single word. I just used your reply as an answer. btw I gave you same gift.

There is no point. I can leave merit to whomever I want[1], wherever I want and in whatever amount I want. If you don't like it, then ask theymos to change the rules.
Oh my God. You've been tagged because of this? Really I feel sorry for you bro. Took a lot to get to Legendary and now your account is ruined because of merit shit...

Lol it's like the old days when dumbasses would give their alts trust. Like it meant anything at all to see some random newb say on some other random new "I trust this guy. He is a good man and helped me in my time of need." with no reference. Although the difference now is that accounts actually need merit, so there's more of a want to use it on your alts I guess. Oh well. I guess you guys got what you deserved.

Don't cheat the system and blame other people when you got caught.
124  Other / Archival / Re: Help a Beginner to understand... on: February 02, 2018, 03:52:18 AM
Basically it comes down to most things being listed for sale in Bitcoin prices. If your altcoin drops from 250 Satoshis to 200 Satoshis, it's not really that big of a deal and could recover. When you're looking at it from a fiat perspective though, 250 Satoshis 48 hours ago and 200 Satoshis now is a 50% difference in price.

What I'd suggest is choose a coin that you're trying to accumulate more of (Bitcoin) and just follow the market with the value of that coin. If you're up to 300 Satoshis, you're up. The fiat value really doesn't matter because these are all short term gains and losses. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are here to stay so HODL and don't let the big swings bring you down. We've dropped 90% before, then blew past that ATH by 1500%. We'll be fine.
125  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [HAVE] $83 Paypal [WANT] BTC (1:1 green trusted user) on: February 02, 2018, 03:48:24 AM
I'm not sure how this transaction is going to workout; however, it highly isn't recommended that anyone trades their Bitcoin or cryptocurrency of value via Paypal. The "buyer" can always reverse the transaction, and you'll be messed over as the seller.

You're trusting that the OP is in fact still the same owner as when Blazed and Light left trust for them back in 2015. Maybe the OP should sign a message to prove that they're the original account owner, then people can decide if they trust them with $83 or not.
126  Economy / Services / Re: [BitBlender] Signature Campaign - Seniors and up (CFNP) on: February 01, 2018, 08:10:08 PM
Oooo I'm all excited. Pay day is coming boys. 1BBoPUH4yYdTrJZCHzUKAdgQPDSUdMLGNv has 1 Bitcoin in it!

Is there a certain day of the week that we're getting paid now Lutpin? I've noticed that the payments used to be Sundays but once we went biweekly it was maybe Tuesdays. Is it pretty much whenever we see a balance in that address?

It's worked out this week because I was going to buy some alts and they've all jumped off a cliff, but if there's a set day that we're going to see payments in the future I'd like to know.

This has been a really long campaign and it's still got the best rates out there! I'll be here until Bitblender no longer wants to advertise haha.
127  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will people pay taxes for bitcoin ? on: January 28, 2018, 05:19:18 AM
Haha yeah... At some point when you start cashing out the government is going to notice and want their piece of the pie. You're free to try and avoid paying taxes but I doubt it's going to go on for very long until you're caught. I'd suggest paying them now rather than paying fines + back taxes later.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BLOCK SIMS-World's 1st Decentralized Telecom Company-UNLIMITED FREE VOICE & DATA on: January 28, 2018, 05:14:38 AM
Wow. This is literally the most interesting project I have seen in all the years I've been into blockchain tech and cryptocurrenies. I'm deep diving into your website now and I'm extremely interested in the end product. This sounds amazing. This is exactly the kind of thing that we need to move the world forward. So excited about this one.
129  Economy / Economics / Re: My challenge to bitcoin on: January 28, 2018, 05:03:05 AM
Bravo. A debt backed currency. I 100% agree. Now are you trying to make this sounds like a good thing? Because in reality it's a clusterfuck in a hurricane. Nothing will ever survive by having more and more debt as time goes on. You can only print so much money until your currency and debt is completely worthless and you get liquidated. Maybe you should switch over before that happens. Either way idc, I'm in. If you don't understand it then we'll just see you in 10 years when you have to understand it to survive.
130  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Hacking is the Big Problem on: January 28, 2018, 04:57:01 AM
If your money is on an exchange then you're doing it wrong. Cryptocurrencies are there own banks on your computer or phone, so why would you ever let someone else hold your cryptocurrencies? I understand when you're first exchanging funds but once that's all said and done you really need to get everything out right away. Hold your own private keys because you're a far smaller target than a big exchange.
131  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Member (formator) Scammed Me!! on: January 28, 2018, 04:54:18 AM
You sent me a PM to look into this, but you ended up with a neg yourself for trying to buy an account.  Do you not realize that DT and other members (like myself) have been tagging members on both ends of account sales for years now?  Why would you contact me?  Is this forum full of dumbasses or what??

In either case, I tagged him.  And it doesn't matter if he pays you back or not, the tag will stand.

Hahahahaha! The answer to your last question is an obvious yes. There are so many dumbasses on this forum and this guy just shot himself in the foot. HAHAHA! I love it. This place just gets better and better as time goes on. Pass the popcorn. This is going to be great.
132  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BITGOLDCONNECT Huge scam - DO NOT INVEST IN ICO on: January 28, 2018, 04:46:15 AM
Well the lucky thing is, they used a very obvious scam name so it shouldn't be too hard for newbies to avoid this. I wouldn't expect many people to invest in it or even look into it solely based on the name. I know I'm not.
133  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC dominance halved on: January 28, 2018, 04:21:37 AM
Something will pass at some point if the tech doesn't improve drastically and soon. Nobody likes the $10-$20 fees to send a transaction, and it makes the whole thing seem pointless. Once we're seeing normal tx fees again we'll see steady gains. I don't really understand how Bitcoin surged so much with all of these scaling issues, but I love it. I never complain when my Bitcoin is worth more!
134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin get to drop to $5,000 and below in 2018 on: January 28, 2018, 04:10:43 AM
Let' see. BTC failed as a payment system, governments are cracking down on BTC and LN is a joke. Chart looks hyperbolic and indicates it could move to $3000. So yeah why not

Could you please explain how a government "cracks down" on a decentralized currency? Do they ban it? Do they tax it? All of these "crack downs" are very easy to avoid. You really just continue what you're already doing. If you don't like what you're government is doing, don't vote for them. If you can't vote, get the hell out of that country now!
135  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Merit not for sale! on: January 28, 2018, 04:07:48 AM
I hope everybody would be fair about this new feature implemented by admin theymos.
This thread is for the purpose of awareness that merit is given to a constructive and quality post. I have made a thread here in the market place section, hoping that there will not be such things like buying and selling merits. Let's work with our own asses.

P.S.
OP  is not asking attention, read and understand.  Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Saddly, but many people are already selling/buying Merit points, for example here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827197.0
On local boards there are much more Merit sellers. There was people who got 20 or even 50 Merit for a low quality posts, it's obvious abuse of Merit system. Both, buyer and seller has to be reported to DT members and they will give them red trust rating.

Haha that would backfire so hard on them! They give each other merit then they get negative trust. If you try to rig the new system you'll get rekt by the old system. HEED MY WARNINGS NEWBIES! DON'T GET NEGGED! Lol. Their will be many a legendaries with negative trust I guess.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USD Thethers just unraveled here's the Crypto Meltdown on: January 28, 2018, 04:03:25 AM
I think it will continue to do a good job of staying pegged to the dollar... How they make money... I don't really understand it.

They take their dollars, give people a sketchy token, buy Bitcoin with the dollars and make bank. It's really simple actually. The give out something that the generate by the hundreds on millions over and over again and keep buying and inflating crypto. This is definitely going to be huge because Tether is so big that when it fails (not if, when) we're all going to feel it. Shit that's annoying.
137  Economy / Reputation / Re: Invalid negitive trust from Lauda on: January 28, 2018, 03:58:11 AM
What’s it going to take to get that removed?

There is one person on this forum that can answer that for you. If you've had your PMs blocked by them, I guess it's time to create a new Bitcointalk account. No one here can do anything about this, but if you're just here to vent then idk, I read it. There ya go. Your story is out in the world now.
138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is day-trading cryptocurrency profitable? - Need opinion from traders on: January 28, 2018, 03:50:06 AM
Day trading is an instant profit you can earn 20$ or more doing this kind of trading. I do that techniques but i am a holder of token. In the other way you can do both way to earn half of your money is in investing and the other half use in day trading. You sure gain a lot of profit. More work more profit and dont forget the golden rule "Buy low sell High"

Lol if you've only earned $20 while day trading I don't see how it's worth it.

It makes no sense for each trade to be a taxable event. You could make $100 on a trade and then mins later lose $150. You don’t pay taxes by the trade. You pay them by the year or quarterly based on your earnings.

That's very true. I think in some countries, if you don't switch back to fiat then it's not a taxable event, unless I understand that wrong. I hope not anyway because I haven't been paying attention at all and just look at the first and last number and how much I profited hahaha!
139  Economy / Reputation / Re: aTriz and Lauda just got merit! on: January 28, 2018, 03:44:41 AM
Here's the thing. The merit system was created to slow down shitposting and shitposters from leveling up. Atriz is hero, Klaas too and Lauda is legendary. What would be the point of farming merits??

There is always the possibility that Theymos may introduce a new rank requiring more Merit than 1,000.

I get that, however this is present day with no such thing on the horizon (at least not yet).

As you said, it's a possibility. There is no point in doing anything "fishy" if there is no reason for it.

That's what I'm trying to understand. Okay, so there's an "inner circle" that's conspiring to give each other merit... But they don't actually need any merit for anything at all so it doesn't really mean anything. So... They just generated random fake numbers that mean nothing on a forum.

SCAM! Lol.
140  Local / Altcoin Announcements (Pilipinas) / Re: Alert! Coincheck HACKED. bigger than MT Gox. on: January 27, 2018, 04:32:36 AM
Shocked Shocked Shocked

Biggest hack in the history of the technology...
But, the price of NEM is not decreasing so much.
Why...?

Because it's a shitcoin!!! It was never actually worth anything and the market cap was based on nothing. All of these obvious scams are collapsing but some dumb people hang onto them. It's not worth trying to convince them that their shitcoins are scams. Oh well.
