Infidels Non believers Feel ashamed!!!!! Bifinex's price is totally manipulated that is why it is so high. Unless this exchange will fix their banking problems, and USD wire transfers will be reactivated, until then BTC price there will be always higher than anywhere else. I think that the stable price is around $1290-$1310 - Bitfinex's price is not sustainable - it will crash very soon. Then don't go by bitfinex. Go by another exchange, I use bitstamp. It gives a more accurate number not based off of the problems bitfiex is having right now.

Economy / Speculation / Re: I've been very busy out spending my Bitcoins

I use pretty much only bitcoin for day to day purchases through SHIFT from Coinbase.
I convert most my paycheck from USD to Bitcoin every week and spend only the USD amount. This way I kept all of the appreciation in bitcoins.
Pretty much the only thing I don't pay in BTC is my mortgage.
you are able to pay for foods with bitcoin? unless you are buying everything online, how can you do it, i'm not aware of supermarket that accept bitcoin let alone small market or any kind of this instead i see more easy to buy bills and such with bitcoin because there are service for that I find that even those services are hard to come by or you need to trust some third party between the bill you're paying and your bitcoins. I don't like the idea of someone else converting my bitcoins to pay fiat for my electricity bill. What if they go bankrupt? What if they're a scam?

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any decent traders here?

Are there any altcoin traders who actually make money on the long run? How much do you make in a month (in percentage)? What are your strategies, e.g. how do you know an altcoin is worth investing in? Share your secrets, we are all bros here 1. Yup 2. There is no monthly average. Sometimes 7% in a day, sometimes 1% or less. 3. I don't hold anything for long at all. If you see any profit, sell and put in another lower buy order. Other than that I'm not sharing my secrets because they work well for me. Don't ever keep your money on an exchange. Withdraw even if the fees are a pain. Someday you'll be happy if/when that exchange is "hacked" or funds are stolen.

The reasons they denied this from the winklevoss twins the first time is still valid today so why would it pass this time? Is this what the price increase is coming from? I'd expect a dump after it's denied again. If it's approved I would really be shocked.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to find safety in a hard fork?
|
on: April 23, 2017, 03:25:41 AM

Seriously, no one wishes to offer their comment or advice on this? This is a serious question. I'm looking for real options from those of you that are more educated int the consequence of a hard fork than I am.
What's the move here? What are our options? How much time do we have?
Thanks in advance.
Store your Bitcoins in a wallet that gives you the ability to "split" your coins. I heard Jaxx wallet gave its users that choice for ETH and ETC. Maybe they will do the same for BTC and BTU. This is wrong and stupid. Just ignore it. If you own bitcoins now and there's is a hard fork you now own the exact same amount of bitcoin A as you do bitcoin B. If you believe in one more, sell the other and go all in on one chain. There is no certain wallet that you need (I mean core... not some random third party app that no one's ever heard of).

I pretty much exclusively use my phone as I don't have my own computer and haven't for a few years now. Definitely the fact that I have a bank inside my phone is very empowering and I pass it onto everyone.

I'm hesitant because of you saying in the OP that these are legally obtained. That's information that someone legit selling a card wouldn't really say because, of course it's legal. Did you buy these with cash? Do you have receipts?

I'm not buying it. This sounds like a scam. Obviously don't deposit anything or click the links. If you want to have a contest then do it properly and escrow the funds. Once that's done I'd be more than happy to put my name in the hat.

they don't lose their intrinsic value, just the value given by people in the world so 50k bitcoin from 2011 are still 50k bitcoin today, if you were so good at holding them all Ok but if you flood the market with 50k or 500k bitcoins all at once, don't expect them all to sell for $1300/piece. You'll be lucky to keep $1000 as you're some kind of super-whale jumping into a swimming pool.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have my pockets full of LTC and my home boys do too!

Don't get carried away by over evaluating Litecoin's growth prospect. Litecoin was always fast, had low fees and there is no need for any form of scaling upgrade. Adding SegWit is not mandatory, it is additional feature not necessary upgrade needed for Litecoin to evolve. Let say it now: Bitcoin needs SegWit. Litecoin would be fine without it.
This. There was never an issue so this whole segwit situation is really irrelevant. I mean sure it shows the devs are staying in front of the issues (unlike bitcoins) but it's not fundamentally going to change anything like fees or wait times. It's all hyped and speculation and in the end the bubble will pop because really there's no real benefit to anyone.

It is quite possible that these are manipukated by Polo.Almost all exchanges involved in inside trading
Lol source? It does seem fishy that 4 of them had increased volume BUT there are, what, 23 being delisted? There are bound to be some coincidences when we're talking about delisting that many currencies.

Why you didn't add to this thread what a spy app is exactly is baffling to me. Why would I go to some random site just to read what this is about? Poor pitch in the OP. This just comes off as something sketchy as hell, which it probably is since you're a newbie but obviously not really a newbie now are you?

Economy / Speculation / Re: "The price of your bitcoin is 1000 times overvalued"

on: April 22, 2017, 05:40:56 PM

i am a little confused why he is so sure bitcoin price is 1000 times overvalued. why not 100? 10? why exactly 1000? Do you agree with him?
Gold is just a metal and diamond is just a stone, why not we call their value too as overpriced ? Unlike crypto currency, gold/Diamonds are being valued by every part of this world ? All these people are so childish to value just a metal or a stone ? Your old shirt will get millions of dollars in an auction if you are a rockstar. Yes, demand determines everything. Bitcoin has demand and it has value. There is no meaning of arguing it is 1000x more valued, there are people ready to buy with 1000x more so it has those values. ^this. There may be a bubble, that's impossible to tell until after the point but we're definitely nowhere near 1000x overvalued hahaha. To say that just makes you sound like incompetent newb in the whole aspect of cryptocurrencies.

Idgaf how much I could make from ether, it's just another shitty centralized currency that I want nothing to do with. It's the opposite of what all cryptocurrencies should stand for. I think he's just a follower and he only invested because they're the biggest. That's pretty dumb and takes almost 0 knowledge. Oh durp these 2 look good since they're the biggest. Great analysis.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists?
|
on: April 22, 2017, 05:30:51 PM
|
In all honesty, bitcoin is very prone into being used as a gateway to send illegal funds to terrorists due to its pseudo-anonymous nature; it is much harder to track as to where the money really went even though everytime you send a coin it leaves some taints or trails which you can follow—but that is easily prevented by using mixing services. Also, it is not new that weapons are being sold in exchange to bitcoins, so it might be that some weapons being used by terrorists are actually purchased using bitcoins.
But if you just replace bitcoin with $100 bills and you have the exact same answer. Bitcoins are just basically online cash. Technically you could always trace the serial number on a bill too (or at least banks or the government could).
