801  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any proposition for an official "End of HODL" day? on: July 02, 2017, 02:49:38 AM
I know exactly when I'm going to spend my bitcoins. I'm going to spend them when I need them. They're the highest risk investment I own so they're the last thing I want to use if I'm disabled or something.
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin price increase to $1 Million one day? on: July 02, 2017, 02:47:46 AM
No. There will be another cryptocurrency that people like or bitcoins will slow down around the $100k mark. No matter what $1million will be impossible unless $1million buys you a used car because fiat is nearly worthless at that point.
803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the current price drop considered a normal phenomenon? on: July 02, 2017, 02:40:32 AM
Of course it's normal. Why listen to some amateur on YouTube when you can just look at the graphs for yourself? Lots of cryptos go up 100%, down 25%, up 80%, down 30%. It's the nature of the beast. We're still so new and so volatile.
804  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be Careful With Pumping Groups on: July 02, 2017, 02:37:35 AM
Lately, I have seen some promotions in Facebook on becoming a member of pumping groups for free. yes, it does not cost anything except registration and some push in the keyboard. Now, the question in my mind is if pumping groups can be effective in making me some money.

Searching on the same topic, I received some warnings that pumping groups are there to dry us of funds and that actually they don't care about us small players as we are actually the pawns they are looking for.

In other words, pumping groups can be a trap if you are not very careful. Why? Because those leading the pumping have already bought their coins ahead of the pumping announcement and when the coin has already risen they would immediately sell their holdings and if you are not watching you can have your bags empty.

I was just a newbie on this and I got victimized because just seconds after I bought my coins the value rose which led me to believe it could rose further but then the slide happened as fast as it rose.

Instead of becoming a part of pumping groups, I am now instead of a group which analyzed trends and give away possible coins to rise...and all for free.

Lol no shit they're a scam. Everyone knows that. If you've ever played an MMORPG with an open market you've experienced this.
805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cyber attackers asking for $300 in bitcoin on: July 01, 2017, 07:53:54 PM
SIDE NOTE: Why $300? As ransom-ware spreads the asking ransom prices have converged on $300.  I wonder if that has been determined to be the sweet spot? Not too high, not too low.

 Huh

That's what I was wondering. Back in the day when 1 bitcoin was $300 it made sense but now that they're $2500 it seems like such an arbitrary amount. If you hack something like a hospital or government agency you can ask more it seems but if it's some ma and pa store they seem to ask for $300 in bitcoins. It's got to be the equilibrium.
806  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: There is global shortage, why these guys have Supply Ability of 80000 Pieces on: July 01, 2017, 07:45:08 PM
It's easy to have unlimited supply of something when you're making fakes. Ask to buy a sample. That's the only way to confirm they're legit (which they aren't).

No one caught them?
they are scamming people freely and doing business with registered and certified companies out there ...wtf

Man I have no idea. It just doesn't make sense so they must be either fake or stolen. Either way I wouldn't bother ordering a lot. They could always send you something that works and seems to be the same but the performance isn't as good as it's supposed to be.
807  Economy / Speculation / Re: Japan ends 8% consumption tax on bitcoin Today on: July 01, 2017, 07:43:12 PM
Where did you read this? I also had never heard that they paid 8% tax in the first place so where did you see any of this information at all?

809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is Satoshi - I'm convinced of it (and I love his vision) on: July 01, 2017, 06:25:43 PM
He's not until he proves that he is. Solid proof like signing from a few different known addresses. Signing from the address for the genesis block. Just anything to actually prove he is Satoshi. Could he have made a blockchain?  Yup. Did he make the first one? Doubt it.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin cannot drop in price on: July 01, 2017, 12:40:59 PM
The problem I have is when I'm reading an article about "bitcoins biggest rival Ethereum". What? Don't make crap up. Ethereum isn't a rival because ethereum and bitcoin don't do the same thing. Isn't bitcoin supposed to support tokens and smart contracts and all that in the future anyways? So why not buy before bitcoins have that tech so you know you're in something that's continuously being developed? The block size issue is going to be a thing of the past in a month's time and there is no other cryptocurrency that's accepted anywhere as much as bitcoins. Where are you going to spend your NEM? Seriously. I've never seen anywhere that openly says they accept it. Their market cap is based on nothing.

Bitcoins can't drop in price because they're based on a fiat value. Fiat is always dropping because they just print more money. The worst thing that could happen to bitcoins is they'll be worth $2500 for the rest of our lives. But at least in 2090 you'll know you can still buy a loaf of bread, some milk, eggs, some doritos, a 2L of Pepsi and some soup and crackers for BTC0.01.
811  Other / Archival / Re: . on: July 01, 2017, 12:31:46 PM
So who actually invests in this garbage? how much funds have they raised/scammed?

$1.5 million in un-escrowed funds

https://ethereum.link/ICO/stats.php

WTF.... I've seen legit projects raise less than that, and people on this forum isn't even willing to lend out $50. Why do people think that juts having an ANN thread makes you 1million times more trustworthy???

they didn't raised anything (or that much) their ICO was faked.

Ahhhh, that would make a hell of a lot more sense. How did you come to that conclusion though? With their self moderated thread it's impossible to tell if they had any negative posts.

The biggest red flag of all is what they claim to be - a silver backed token which is having an ICO.

Why not just buy silver? 0 risk and you can physically hold your investment in your hands.
812  Economy / Services / Re: Selling Dirt Cheap Dominoes Pizza on: July 01, 2017, 12:29:31 PM
So has anyone had any luck getting a pizza? 60-70% off is insane but I won't send first. I'm not blinded by the pepperoni.

@OP do you sell giftcards too or just the pizzas themselves? I didn't see a clear answer on that either.
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I need help tracking down a payment I got on: July 01, 2017, 12:23:16 PM
Just a shot in the dark here but you said you usually copy and paste the address. There is a virus, or there are multiple viruses that will change the address you copy to your clipboard to theirs so you end up sending someone else your bitcoins. I've seen a few threads about it here on bitcointalk. It doesn't sound like this is what happened to you but if the money is really gone that could be what happened. A good rule of thumb is to triple check the first 5 characters and the last 5 characters or the bitcoin address you're sending to to be 100% sure you're sending to the right place and 100% sure you've posted the right address for someone else to send you money too.

Also I'd stop using blockchain.info because when you get hacked (not if) they'll just blame you. Don't be a victim like I was. Start using cold storage or at least a wallet where you hold your own private keys like electrum or bitcoin core.
814  Economy / Services / Re: writing professional emails on: July 01, 2017, 12:18:20 PM
Could you post some examples? Also what do you charge or is it based on the length of the email? Is your native language English, French or something else?
815  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.20 BTC , have collateral on: July 01, 2017, 12:16:37 PM
Your alt account has already been tagged by the DT for defaulting a loan and now you're back for defaulting another one ?
For lenders : His alt account : dipkiss has been tagged as a loan defaulter. You can check the alt accounts section where this connection is established.
I'm messaging the DT members to tagged his current as well.Beware.

I thought I recognized the name. Thanks Patatas.

I can't believe you people are still funding this guy after what went on with his alt. I guess your interest rates will vary accordingly huh?
816  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do 99% of all projects make a profit in the long term? on: July 01, 2017, 12:12:28 PM
Are you referring purely to ICOs?

If you are then they're inherently nobbled the moment they're born. They're crippled by inbuilt greed and ready made bagholders itching to get rid.

There are plenty of coins that did launch without that shite that rose significantly on their own merit.

I don't understand why anyone would bother with an ICO. Let it launch and then see if it has any actual merit beyond enriching the people who proposed it.

Here here! Why bother giving someone $50million because they have a good idea on paper? Show me it works. Then I'll invest some money I to it. Show me you'll be able to market it properly and make some money from it. Then I'll invest. A fool and his money are easily parted.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: Craig Wright <> Satoshi Nakamoto on: July 01, 2017, 03:03:20 AM
Doesn't matter if he's Satoshi or not, now...does it?

But Dr. Wright wants on chain scaling and big blocks (as did Satoshi)
so for that reason, I support his position.

Oh God here we go. Now it turns into a block size debate. Just leave it alone. It's being fixed finally.

Ok, he's not Satoshi. Did he sign a message? No. Did he move funds? No. Shit or get off the pot Craig. This has to get him paid somehow or he wouldn't do it.
818  Economy / Services / Re: 0.01BTC for who can unlock my facebook account on: July 01, 2017, 03:00:05 AM
Could you not simply say you're going to delete anything that is infringing on a copyright? Wow that's pretty hardcore for just singing and playing some guitar and posting a video.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: i have proven the Lightning Network can't provide decentralized scaling. on: July 01, 2017, 02:32:34 AM
I'm not going to pretend to have the slightest clue how it pans out until there are a few actually up and running.

You imagine that people will stand around doing nothing to change their behavior as LN nodes become centralized. But if decentralization is worth anything then that is precisely what will not happen.

Whisper it, but most people would choose convenience over decentralisation most days of the week. Look at Coinbase.

Lol. ^ This. It's so true. People just love keeping their money on exchanges and they love their Web wallets. They're the credit cards of the bitcoin world. Easy to hack, easy to get another.
820  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC doing good after this big dump on: July 01, 2017, 02:28:11 AM
Yes,no more dumps in bitcoin. Here after, only bullish market would continue. Most people have now realized that dumping is done to snatch their bitcoin holdings and hence no one is now ready to lose their bitcoins to big whales.Thats why the price has constantly increased and now its $1300.Bitcoin to the moon for sure.

What a nonsense. People haven't realized anything as they don't know what's going on. They gain confidence out of the price that more or less keeps hovering around current levels. If you ask them what the reason for that is, they come up with all sorts of garbage that holds absolutely no value. Just wait for it - as soon as the panic returns, the same people that are super confident about the price right now, will switch to losing-all-confidence-mode. It has been happening since the very beginning, and nothing has changed so far, and nothing will change in the future.

I've learned so much the past years that idgaf if I lose everything. I highly doubt bitcoins will drop to $600 ever though, so I think I'll be profitable no matter what.
