101  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How far can BTC go before halving? on: April 10, 2024, 05:49:56 AM
It's hard to say the exact number - but some such predictions are still worth considering.
Bitcoin price has a good chance of rising and hitting its new ATH again before the halving - but a correction is also difficult to avoid after.

I can expect the price to break $74K to $75K without ignoring potential downside - but of course, this is a bit difficult considering that today the bitcoin price has tested a new support level again. I don't know - maybe you should be a little more patient waiting for the good news before the halving, but I'm not thinking about that too much right now.
I think the predictions is quite correct in bitcoinn might increase more or set another ATH and can be over to $100k because now a days bitcoin investors are more smarter and more hands on in investing in bitcoin, meaning majority of the investors wants to see bitcoin become more higher and in order to do that they will need to keep their assets, holding until the price of bitcoin will be more higher, truly after halving bitcoin might have a correction because of some investors might sell thekr assets, but compared to investors that is thinking the future of bitcoin, they will remain holding and in no time bitcoin might touch the $100k predictions, and I hope it happens because just a little more push, but we will see what will happen in during and after the halving event. And I hope it will be a good movement, and we will be rewarded for holding bitcoin for this long.
Or we might put it this way, we might see another all-time-high before the halving itself.  We're barely 9 days from now before the halving commence at April 20. So there are still sometime for the bulls if they want to push it as hard as they can to $75k. But overall though, getting into $73k before the halving is already a big accomplishment for us. We never thought that it's possible to see that happening as it didn't occur prior throughout Bitcoin's young history. So for me this is a sign that something big is going to happen once the halving occur and like what others are predicting, $100k or higher this year and in 2025, we will see the top price for this bull cycle.
102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might reach $100k before halviing. What is your exit strategy? on: April 09, 2024, 09:48:56 PM
Bitcoin is rising upwards in terms of price continuously. Many are predicting that it will reach $100k before halving. In case that happens, do you plan to exit at that price level because of possible correction at that levels ? What is your exit strategy  with bitcoin once it reaches $100k?
While I think nothing is impossible in this industry with price speculation, I find it hard to think Bitcoin can hit $100k before halving. My expectation of price is around the $80k level. If it goes well above it by then, I will do nothing even if it's going to dip after that. I'm not taking chances this time around until it hits my exit point around $150k. I don't want to sell off and not be able to buy in again. It's too risky playing that game on Bitcoin now. I would rather buy at dip if I've the means than sell off to rebuy. Nah!
We are just a couple of weeks from it, and so far there is no major big movements, we even have some correction form $72k to $69k. So there is a slowdown at least, volume is not that high to push the price to six digits right now. We the chance is getting slim in hitting the magic numbers. But for the exit strategy, for me we are still to far to look at it. Next year could be start to think about our exit strategy and what price we are going to sell. Just enjoy the ride for now after the halving. At least at the end of the month so we all gonna be happy and excited for the rest of the year and definitely keep on accumulating.
103  Economy / Economics / Re: Accepting Bitcoin for paying tax on: April 09, 2024, 09:24:54 PM

the city has its token which is probably the preferred option.
That could be another alternative for them, to accept their token or BTC for tax purposes.

i think they should carefully make rules for accepting cryptocurrencies in paying tax like they will only accept this during bull run and when the bear market starts, they halt the payment and then go back to fiat. resume when the bull run starts again lol because after all the BTC they got will still be turned into fiat the time they receive them.
Why would they be careful when they have embrace crypto already? It doesn't matter if it is on a bull run or bear market, they are going to pay with their Bitcoin in equivalent fiat so there's nothing wrong with it. Still it they decided to go back to fiat, I don't see that it will cost them a big problem. For sure the government of Switzerland with their centuries of being a safe banking haven, they know what to do with their Bitcoin either in a bull run or a bear market. It's not that Switzerland is a country that will rely solely on Bitcoin as their reserves, they are a very rich nation and they could take all that paying Swiss Bitcoin and just HODL on it without putting pressure on their government.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery Fever. What are your range of thoughts in response to Lucky Winners? on: April 09, 2024, 03:26:36 PM
  • my time is near
  • it can't happen to me
  • I wish I could win, even if it meant lower jackpots
  • Indifferent
Of course as a gambler, we still believed that even if the odds are stack against us, we could win that big jackpot one day. And as you can see, there are people who bet on lottery with the same thought as everyone, to have that windfall, so why not try your luck? You will just win if you don't believed in yourself that you can win it. And with that, from time to time, I will go and buy ticket or if by chance there is one in a gas station, then I will take that risk as you don't know what is instore for you. Maybe you got lucky with one scratch and get $100k, or a pick six that turns out to be the winning number.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: April 09, 2024, 02:53:48 PM
And Oscar Dela Hoya continues to troll Canelo Alvarez with this poll,

https://twitter.com/AccordToBoxing/status/1777450073456267291

I think this will be bad for Munguia if his promoter as going to wake up the animal in Canelo. Oscar even poses a picture with Benavidez if I'm not mistaken. But I think this is jus to test Canelo in like a psyche war. But then again it could backfire big time, IMHO.

Oscar De La Hoya probably thought Canelo will win the survey. Too bad, it is the top cherry picker Tank Davis that is leading the survey. Good call by the voters. Tank Davis is already nearing his 30s but is yet to fight a world champion at 135 where he stayed for many years. Canelo deserved the second ranking. But I do not understand why Demetrius Andrade is included. The guy is one of the most avoided fighter in recent years like Rigondeaux.

Still a month before this fight happens. Hopefully if Mungia wins he will either fight Morrell or Benavidez or just vacate the belts and move up in weight. Grin
Most likely that is the case, but still the fans voted for Canelo and when Canelo see it, this could be something that might affect him. But he has been with Oscar and so he should now that Oscar is trying to do here. Fans get it right though, Tank Davis is a great fighter, but he clearly is protected by Floyd and they don't want his 0 to go so he ducks Haney or even Teo. Munguia should be pump in this fight, this is a perfect opportunity for him to show if he could be the next big Mexican star or just a product of hype by his promoter. I don't know though if he can go to 175 lbs, the way I see his body, he is a perfect fit for a super middleweight. But we don't know what the future holds of this kid. Maybe in the future, he would love to go and move up.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 09, 2024, 02:32:41 PM
I think the Lakers purposely lost to Minnesota yesterday to give them the top seed in the West. It would be a bad start for any of the teams who will land in the 8th seed if they will play against the Denver. Both Warriors and the Lakers have not won against the Denver this season, so that means an early vacation for them LOL. Only the Kings stands a good chance against the Denver as they are 3-1 against the Denver. However, the playoffs has a different atmosphere and intensity, that doesn't mean the Kings can get an easy W against the defending champs.  Pelicans on the other end is 1-2 against the Denver, so again, It's not gonna be a good start for them if they land in any spot in 7th or 8th seed if they will play against the Nuggets.

What if with what they did the Lakers will end up at 7? I mean they would still have to face the Nuggets at that standing, and if they want a top 8, they need to beat the Warriors which is also another problem as that will be a do or die game. I think they really don't do that purposely, as much as possible gaining the top 6 will give them assurance that they'll be in the playoffs, so every game matters to them.

I guess like what LeBron said one game at the time, they just need to keep playing and aiming to reach the playoff no matter what, that loss may give the Wolves the top spot but not becuase Lakers is avoiding anything it just happened that Wolves do their usual setup and take the game agains them, still plenty of games to focus and try to win to keep the spot open and no matter what or no matter who will the opponents they need to win if they want to take the title nothing else but to accomplish their goals.

We also have to respect the Timberwolves because they are so improve this season., taking the number 1 spot is not the first time for them, and just look what they are doing, without KAT things hasn't seemed to change.
They still have ANT to lead them, so even with KAT the Wolves didn't give up their top spot easily, unlike let's say the Sixers when they are in the top 3 in the East before Joel Embid got injured. And so no one from the Sixers was able to become the new leader, maybe Maxey but he is still too young to lead a team. But ANT is different, been in the US team, and so he got a lot of experience.

The Lakers have 3 remaining games, the Warriors, Grizzlies, and the Pelicans, if they could win all that the games they are gonna improve in ranking. Just a rank of 7 or 8 is already good enough for them as they won't be in a do or die situation.
Could be, but teams like Kings, Warriors and Mavs or Phoenix has games too. And that's why every game right now is very important for the team mention. And they could surrender that they will be facing the Warriors in the play-in.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 08, 2024, 09:33:38 PM
It's not the question of reliability, but whether we should follow them. So for me no, at least I still have my analysis on games and I will stand by what I saw and bet and predicted instead of following supercomputers or AI to make the bet for me. There is also one thread about UFC/MMA predictions by AI and I don't think it went good (maybe I'm wrong). But if you are a sport fans, this will take away the or defeat being like that, strong passion, interest, and enthusiasm for the sports you follow and then you're going to put a line base on what you see and then the excitement after winning huge, whether ML or multi-betting.
108  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 08, 2024, 10:44:49 AM
“Buy rumors, sell news” I still believe in this saying and still believe it will be used again. I mean bitcoin will continue to rise and reach ATH this month before and after the halving. The story of halving is similar to the story of ETFs, which will be used by market makers to create attractive stories that create excitement for investors. And to be able to create excitement and Fomo in the market, pumping bitcoin is necessary, so it is certain that next week we will soon see bitcoin prices increase and some POW projects will also increase.
I don't think though that we need to create news around the block halving, historically it is the impetus for a bull run. Although it started early, we are not yet seeing the full power of the bull run this year. So we should wait for it in the next couple of weeks. And as I have said, no need to sell this news, right now the market is pumping by it's own at $72k and we might see $75k before the halving itself. Investors, whether whales and average joe as trying to accumulate as much as we can before halving. Not sure what you mean by POW projects though. But if you are referring to some old coins, obviously, Bitcoin has a trickle effect to anyone, not as big as what Bitcoin had in the last month or so, but it will have a impact later after the halving itself.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it right to advice other people against gambling for personal reasons like?? on: April 06, 2024, 08:27:21 PM
What do you make of this, I honestly do not know but deep inside of me, I feel it's absolutely wrong to advice people against doing something, just because you did the same thing and it did not favor you..

Do you guys think it's OK to advice other gamblers to quit gambling simply because of your own bad experience, does your bad experience mean that every other gambler out there will also have the same bad experience?
I will like some really useful discussions around this topic.
We should understand where the individual is going, based on his stories, it's one of the worst, losing everything you have and it all started with $10. So I guess he has all the reasons to rant and everything. I wouldn't say he is right or wrong though, still depends on the individual who is going to read his story, just like you. You were affected by it and maybe thinking of stopping gambling, then good if you are swayed by his stories and doesn't want to end like him losing everything in an instant. But there are still gamblers who will just shrug it off after reading everything and put the blame on the gamblers itself. So in this life, it's really hard to make the right decision, and in this a snap, it can really turn into a disaster for you. But the good thing is that he can it's not too late for him and reset and learn from his mistakes.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 06, 2024, 10:51:14 AM
Is this good advice for those who can't afford a hardware wallet?

Using a Bitcoin Electrum wallet or other, disconnect from the internet before generating a new seed and never connecting to the internet again.

Until you are ready to sell everything in that wallet.

Is this practice similar to using a hardware wallet? This advice came from a man I know who said to have been keeping his BTC since 2013 in the same manner, he said the internet/online is the culprit or enemy of every crypto wallet.
As others have said, this kind of setup will fall under the category of air-gap PC and it should not be connected to the internet once you have set up everything. Although if I will have to choose between a hardware wallet vs a air gap pc, I will go with the hardware wallet.

And if the person that known have this kind of setup since 2013, then good for him. He could be very knowledgeable and knows how to protect hit Bitcoin with that kind of setup. The key here is that you know what you are doing if you chooses air gap setup.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: April 05, 2024, 08:05:24 PM
Just sharing you a good  article about Loma,

Quote
Is Lomachenko an aging, legendary warrior or is he a fighter finally on the cusp of that defining win several years and several weight classes deep into his career? Maybe he’s both.

https://www.boxingscene.com/how-much-vasiliy-lomachenko-really-left--182629

And probably this is also the questions from us, a close lost to Haney, and after coming from a hiatus due to what happen to his country, it seems that Loma might have lost some step already.

But the question will be answered in this fight whether he still has it and can pull the trigger or at age 36, he is declining and could be at the sunset of his career and he should retire for good.

I have no doubt that he will win here as his opponent seemed declining as well. It's the first step of the test, once he win and he gets another shot with a champion and win, then that's the time to conclude that he still has not pass his prime. 36 years is still not old in boxing, in fact Mayweather retired when he was already 41 but was still undefeated.

Loma might loss to Haney, but a boxer who had that kind of fight against a very quick Haney is already considered a great boxer, and besides, the fight ended up as a controversial fight which some believe he wins, so the respect is still there.
It's more on the mindset of Loma. In his last fight which he unfortunately lost to Haney, we've seen that he can still fight even at his age. And there are no wear and tear on Loma as he was late when he join the pro ranks but was privilege to be given a chance to fight for the belt early in his career. And he is a huge favorite in this fight, so yeah, he might win here. I also read some twitter post that Loma is still the best 135 lbs, his ranking is even higher than Tank or even Shakur, although there could be arguments in that. But we know that Tank is only a paper champion, doesn't want to risk his 0, and then Shakur a boring fighter.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A few crypto questions. on: April 05, 2024, 07:32:39 PM
Hey guys. Just to clear up a little misunderstanding I've got. There's something I don't quite understand and it is what happens after people hodl coins and altcoins.

So, we all say that hodling is better than trading, yeah? And I think the only way to earn from cryptocurrency is by exchanging it for fiat currency, right? Meaning, the hodling is just for the value to increase over a while and then you still trade it right?
Yes, it's HODLing by definition if you are not going to sell your crypto and just let it sit in your wallet for sometime, so either short term (maybe 6 months), or long term (6 months to a year). And if you decided to sell it to take your profits then you have to deposit it to a exchange and trade it to your local fiat.

And for the altcoins, after buying altcoins, what happens if no one wants to buy them from you? You know a lot of altcoins aren't all that popular so how do people even sell off their altcoins? Can you even hodl altcoins?

I know those are a lot of questions, but I keep on getting it wrong in my head. So thanks in advance for the answers.
Obviously if you buy an altcoins and there are no activities or at least there are more sellers than buyers then the price will go down and it means you are going to lose money if you buy at the price that is higher than the current price. Of course, you can HODL an altcoin, but you need to be very careful what kind of altcoin you are going to invest and HODL. And that's where you need to research or what we call DYOR (Do Your Own Research) will enter.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: April 05, 2024, 10:51:57 AM
And so Alvarez responded to his former manager, Oscar Dela Hoya,

Quote
Alvarez, speaking to the Los Angeles Times En Español YouTube channel, didn’t pull punches when weighing his former promoter’s prediction.

“I think it’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in my life, and that’s what Oscar is,” Alvarez said, according to the channel’s closed-caption translation.

“Oscar relies on nothing more than saying stupid things, and that’s why people pay attention to him. But in his company, he does nothing more than say stupid things. That’s all he does. That’s all he knows how to do.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-alvarez-on-oscar-de-la-hoya-saying-stupid-things-all-he-knows--182627

Canelo Alvarez is responding about Oscar's comment that he can beat Alvarez if they fought in their primes. But I don't know if he can do it, I mean Dela Hoya when he moves up from 154 lbs to middle weight doesn't look good. So who knows how this proverbial fight will end.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 05, 2024, 10:36:19 AM
There you go, a win for the Warriors. I was worried for nothing when the Rockets were closing in on the standings and could possibly replace GSW in the 10th seed. Both Steph Curry and Klay Thompson scored 29 points. I just hope Klay can score 20-plus points in their remaining games as well, so they can solidify their spot for the play-in and beyond.
Yeah, with that win, the Warriors 10th spot is for sure now, although they were given by a scare by the Houston Rockets, after they have their longest streak this season. But we know that at the back of our minds, Warriors is built definitely, they have the championship DNA and so they will be in the playin. Huge game by Steph and Klay and that what matter most. And so the four teams, the Lakers, Warriors, Kings and the Mavs will fight it out for the last 2 remaining team to enter the playoff. Those 4 teams are solid and so really hard to see who will go to the next round and it's hard to see any team among them not going into the playoff.
115  Economy / Economics / Re: Business/Entrepreneurship. on: April 04, 2024, 08:45:45 PM
I guess the two are very good for someone to use to grow financially in the future, but if they ask me to choose one to invest, I will prefer business because you can invest a huge amount of money in business and within some months or years you will recover the money you used to start the business and still have money in your bank account to invest in other assets that will continue increasing your money.
Really depends on the business that you are going to put up, we really don't know if you will have a good return in months or years, there is still that element of risk involved. I don't know the numbers, but there are businesses that fail in the first year alone. There are also competitions that you have to look whether your business is online or offline.

When you succeed to create your own business, you will surely become the director of the business and, nobody will be controlling you on what to do to earn salary but you will be in charge to be paying your workers salary because you are the one that employed them in that business.
That is the good thing about having your own business though or becoming a entrepreneur, time is in your hand. But it doesn't mean that you will not work as hard as when you have your 9-5 job. You really need to double and spend more time now as you are the boss. You have to think about your business and how to grow it. So both investment and being a being businessman entails responsibilities.
116  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 04, 2024, 08:23:57 PM
Sorry for getting this a tad late.  I went on a little trip and had some fun with some friends for a couple of days.  But yeah...  Here's a really easy one...  'Will BTC close above 75k this month?'.
Lol, I was just wondering what happened and missing your thread about monthly sentiments,  Grin

Its bad news after US government sold of 2 billion USDT worth of bitcoin currently and make bitcoin price dropping drastically after raising new ATH price, seems in April still correction moment with bitcoin difficult raise up back above $70k behind halving two weeks left.
I don't know how potential for April will bitcoin going back higher price or any bitcoin amount will sold any more behind US government still hold many bitcoin freeze from illegal activities.
I wouldn't say that it is a bad news, they will have to dump it sooner or later, and it's good that they did it today or at least prior to the halving. Maybe they know this, as the dump will affect the price if we are in the bull run post halving.

Today bitcoin look better after raising up few percent, but raise to $70k still need more longer time and will April become moment for bitcoin going back to higher price or we are facing another correction moment again after last month bitcoin get large amount of correction dropping from $73 to $65k.
Yes, prices looks good so I think as we have bounce back already. But I voted No, most likely we will be around $73k or close to it at the end of the month. Probably this is the last correction, but investors won't have to push it above $75k.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Local/Traditional Gambling Spots on: April 04, 2024, 09:57:13 AM

Have you visited the traditional gambling sport  in your place? How do the traditional gambling games and spots in your country look? Have you gambled the local way?  How was your experience, then?
It's very unfortunate that I no longer see some traditional games being played in our country, but I remember like 40 years ago, same with the images being posted, it's a local board game that everyone gather around and we will see old men playing and most of the time it involves money just for the sake of having some fun. And then cockfighting as well although in the pandemic become well known. Then some sort of pool game, and I see it is trying to make a comeback as I have seen around 2 streets already with that kind of setup an seeing kids and even mature men playing and this could also be involving some money as well.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 04, 2024, 09:40:21 AM
Speaking of individual statistics… I just read a crazy Wemby stat… It said that he already has more career blocks than over 86% of players in NBA history. Granted a lot of smaller position players don’t get a lot of blocks naturally, but I still thought it sounded incredibly impressive. I underestimated the kid.
Ok and that's why in my Twitter feed, even Draymond Green says that Wemby should be the DPOY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfXlYHtHYLs

Yes, it was a impressive stats, not just he can block Wemby, but he can alter someone's shot and we have seen it a lot. Even in transition when someone has a clear path but then they see at their peripherals that Wemby is coming, they completely abandon that and just pass the ball. And if they take that chance they Wemby will most likely block the shots. But for sure his another French man has something to do say with that, Rudy Gobert.
119  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔮 Futuur - Predict the Future! 🔮 on: April 04, 2024, 05:28:27 AM
Futuur is now accepting deposits/withdrawals with Mexican Peso (MXN)  Wink
Wow , that is an amazing acceptance futuur that is something Mexican should be thankful .

But may we ask why MXN only? or is this the beginning of you accepting local currencies around the world?

This is a good start for the 2nd quarter and indeed that you are welcoming the world to your site.
I will speculate that there will be a general election in Mexico this coming June 2024, electing a new President and Vice-President. So most likely they want to attract Mexican to play in their platform. Although Futuur has established their reputation here in the community and maybe there's a lot of us using their platform already since they started, I guess they still need to somewhat grow and compete against some of the best platform. So it's good that they accept deposits/withdrawals and maybe even after their general election most of them will stay in this platform and play with their local currencies.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you considered staking? on: April 03, 2024, 08:39:21 PM
Just out of curiosity,I went to the official website of Ethereum and found that the annual interest rate is only 3.3%.

I’d rather just hold than stake it. I wouldn’t want to wake and hear that some platform got hacked and my money is gone. There’s no APY that’s more than the APY that volatility gives you. And if you’re not the one who has control of your Ethereum, you may not get to enjoy the price increase not to mention the 3.3%!
There are advantage of being a staker, but it will entails you to invest huge amount of ETH (32 ETH) in which ordinary crypto enthusiast can't and so we just buy with all amounts and be a holder. But there could be whale that is willing to stakes it and have the 3.3% returns as a passive income. Of course, there is always that risk involved not just the hack itself, but if you unfortunately lost your private keys, then your stake funds are gone. And there is one issue open up by one,

https://twitter.com/iamDCinvestor/status/1749410364666606075

And there could others too having issues with staking.
