1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 02:53:43 AM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.
Same here, even in our place that I heard individuals winning big? they keep on going back.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.
Yeah, definitely it people shouldn't go back specially those windfall winnings like in Lottery or maybe big wins in a casino. But I guess it's human nature to go back because they might  feel comfortable or think that they can duplicate their winnings because they have this so called winning methods or just simply luck.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
Win some, but not a life changer, so yes, I continue to gamble, but not as I used to be.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 12, 2023, 09:09:15 AM
^ We will see then, Teo Lopez is very young and obviously a lot of years from him to become a champion again or get another belt. So it's surprising to hear that he will retired after his huge win against Josh Taylor.

So let's see, again he might un-retire, maybe he will just have to fix everything up in his personal life and then when everything is straighten up, he can make a huge comeback.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 10, 2023, 01:15:34 AM
Denver is definitely the play tonight. Miami got lucky to win one game but they won't win another. Nuggets -3 to the bank.
I wouldn't totally say that Miami got lucky in game 2. I mean they have reach the finals already and defeating the #1 and #2 teams and #5 seed in the East. Because if we say that they got lucky means that they are not a good team. But they proved otherwise and remain the underdog throughout the playoffs and yet here they are in the finals and have another chance to win.

Although I would say it might be the most difficult series for them as it seems that Jokic and Murray are unstoppable and putting numbers during the height of the Lakers run, similar to what Shaq and Kobe are getting in the playoffs.
1024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some possible ways to avoid phishing attacks and scams on: June 09, 2023, 10:57:22 AM
Common sense, I think this is one of the simplest way to used. I mean you just have to used it, sound judgement and it will take and make you safe. If you download softwares from fake and let's say torrent sites, so don't expect that it will be free from malwares. If you can buy expensive laptops and crypto hardware wallets then why look for free softwares in the market?

And then links, links links, whoever the source is, don't just click it. Again, used your judgement whether to trust the source itself. So think before you click.
1025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: June 09, 2023, 10:34:13 AM
So far though, in this fight, it's Beterbiev by knock out.

That's the expectation of the majority if he wins this fight, considering he is a 100% KO artist. Smith has not been knocked out yet in his career, so let's see what possibilities arise. However, regardless of the outcome, I don't see Smith winning the fight. His success will depend solely on whether he can survive against a 100% KO artist.
I second this fact that Smith is careful with his fights. He tend to be avoidant with in-fights especially if the opponent is wishing for it. Quite of a smart guy, indeed but yes as majority views this fight, hard to see artur losing.

Being a 38 years old and having 10 years in his professional record, the Russian-Canadian monster are still showing no signs that he is already vulnerable. Judging from his recent fights, he may not have the right speed to outdo his opponents but he does have the talent and IQ for which he knew exactly when to give his heavy punches that will literally knock somebody down.
I agree, he hasn't show any signs that he is slowing down. And if my memory serves me right, he doesn't have any injuries as well, so he is very durable. Of course, no one can defeat Father time, sooner or later we will see him declining. But as per his trainer and Bob Arum, Beterbiev is still the puncher that he is and can still fight at a high level. And that's why Smith's chances are very slim in this fight, and majority thinks that this might be a easy fight for Arthur and maybe next we can talk about him and Bivol for a 4 belt fight in Light HW.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 10:06:33 AM
I’ve turned $1,000 into $100,000
I’ve turned $6,000 into $80,000
I’ve turned $11,000 into $550,000
and recently I’ve turned $4,000 into $90,000

With nothing to show for it…I’m a sharp sports bettor, but I always end up going all in. I can never be satisfied until it’s too late. I always need to go all in.

I’ve been reading comments from my last post (turning $4,000 into $90,000 and losing the entire $90,000), and I can’t help but feel like shit.

How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.
I know it's hard mate, maybe the best thing to do is just stop chasing that $1,000,000 for now and just enjoy the winnings that you got in your last run. I mean personally for me, if ever I will have to turn $1,000->$100,000 that might be enough for me then.

Yes, we have our own dreams and chase it, but perhaps its better if you go back to the drawing board first and then just enjoy what you have won already and then not think about that $1,000,000 because it's going to be very very difficult, just saying.

The Phoenix Suns plan to waive veteran guard Chris Paul, according to a report from Bleacher Report/TNT’s Chris Haynes.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that a trade could also be on the table, along with potentially waving and re-signing the 12-time All-Star this offseason.

https://www.nba.com/news/chris-paul-free-agency-phoenix-suns

Ok, so after the firing of their coach, it seems the new owner is making a big chances on the player side as they waived CP3 already and obviously, wanted to clear some space so that they can get a new player. And if they trade him, might be interesting which team and what will be the trading package. Who knows, maybe he can play with Lebron? What's your thoughts?
They might just need the cap space because Kevin Durant is expensive and they have Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton who are also being paid well.
Chances with Lebron? I don't think a team will agree with that. Two veterans in one team mean you will use a slow pace type of game which is not the norm in today's NBA. Even Jokic is trying to do fast breaks on his own.
Wherever CP3 will go is a big question. I have no idea what team needed a veteran point guard to increase their chance for playoffs, or not because for the last few years, CP3 is damaged by a lot of injuries, and worst, the timing of the injuries is mostly in the playoffs.

Great win for the Denver Nuggets tonight. The revenge was successful and just like I thought, that face of Jokic after Game 2 says it all. He will come back stronger and he inputs another triple-double together with Jamal Murray. A very entertaining game and I wish Coach Spo has some answers on Game 4. What's his next move?
I just thought though that it will be Ayton who might be in the trading block as we have seen his performance on the playoffs and he was outmuscled in any way by Jokic. And then him not getting the max rookie max contract from the previous owner of the Suns. But since Monty is gone already, (I think him and Ayton might have some problems) it might make sense that they will have to let go of their leader in CP3, who is getting older and perhaps become more a liability in a gruelling 80 plus games.

Knowing coach Spo who is the master of adjustments, for sure he might have to do another magic in game 4 to tie the series at least and not let the Nuggets takes a huge 3-1 lead.
1028  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 5 Advantages of Bitcoin Casinos vs. Traditional Casinos on: June 08, 2023, 10:44:01 PM
The big question is that why should we be forced to do KYC since we are using cryptocurrency which surpose to be privacy oriented tool and if a casino clearly stated that their demand for kyc at will then i will outrightly avoid them in other to avoid stories when i make a big winning since I am not ready to give out details.
Yes, I know it's a bit controversy for all of us, before we just need a bitcoin address and that's it, we can withdraw our money right away, whether it was big or small without any questions from crypto based platforms.

But now when the gaming industry goes big, I mean with billions worth of business and money flowing inside and outside of crypto bookies, it has been a target of regulators as well, licenses and other things including KYC was introduced now. And majority of us doesn't want to share our details and we are not that comfortable giving out. That's why it's very important to choose which casinos we are going to used now, at least with still no mandatory KYC.
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more secure, WBTC or BBTC (Binance Wappled bitcoin)? on: June 08, 2023, 10:06:39 AM
Hello folks,

Which of these two is safer in the face of what we are going through now? WBTC or BBTC? Is BBTC mandatory linked to Binance? That is, if there is a blockade of assets or non-parity between what it claims to have and what it actually has, can the BBTC lose the 1:1 parity?
I would say none of them, it's just ERC-20 token wrapped or pegged it's price to BTC.

If there will be safe and more secure it will be the original BTC. Specially you mentioned Binance which is under attack from the US government. So it's really good to be very careful with this whole WBTC or BBTC or even Stable coins for now.

So if I'm in your shoes, it's better to stay away from them, just saying.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 08, 2023, 08:12:39 AM
Donaire may not be at his best shape, but he needs training and needs opportunities

We wouldn't know about his current form unless we see him fight. Based on what I've observed in all of Inoue's fights, he always appears to be in his best shape. However, there have been instances where he has lost due to his strategy not working against a superior boxer, such as Inoue. Nevertheless, against Santiago, who is not on the same level as Inoue, I am confident that Inoue will come out on top and win the fight. The only thing lacking for him now is the opportunity, and this fight should happen soon.
Yeah, I don't think it's the question of Donaire's shape, I mean he has been a boxer and knows how to win and part of it and to train hard. It's just really unfortunate that we haven't heard any updates on this fight, whether it will happen this year or not.

Inoue on the other hand, will have a perfect change at the new weight division when he goes against Fulton.

And again, our argument that Donaire is not getting old, might go against him if the fight is going to happen next year.
1031  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to Hodl or buy the Dip? on: June 08, 2023, 02:24:13 AM
With the current bear run of bitcoin at the market cap of 520.50B, down from 527.83B yesterday and down from 570.09B one year ago, at the price of $25k do you think it is a good opportunity to Hodl or buy the Dip in the current market?
It's always been a good time to buy bitcoin, I mean we are not yet on the bull run, so everything is at a discount. Lowest low, $15k, the price now, at $25k-$26k, so still it's a very attractive to buy whatever angle you look at it. There are investors though who are willing to wait or wanted to buy it more cheap, maybe <$20k.

But the question is, what if we didn't go that low, so they might have missed that opportunity already to buy right now. So for me, as long as you have the budget and do DCA, you will be good in buying.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 08, 2023, 01:03:31 AM
But still the favorite is Josh Taylor and I'm not surprised by it. Yeah, it's true he is not a knockout artist, but he methodically destroys his opponent and dominate them in the fight.

While on the other hand, Teo Lopez, still continues to bad mouth Taylor but Josh is not backing down and have his own trash talking too. And that's why this fight is exciting and it's better to live on the hype.

That's just how they market their fight nowadays without trash-talking, the fight is boring unless you are already famous for not doing so and the fans know that you gonna rebut inside the ring like Manny Pacquiao does against Broner and Thurman. But these two should do something before the fight and to fuel the excitement like this will gonna make the fans even want to see them clashing in the ring against each other so they raise their PPV sales just before their fight. We already know that if Lopez doesn't have new skills to surprise Taylor, he doesn't have any chance to beat him except by a lucky shot.
We should also forget one thing, the language barrier as well. It's critical if both can speak English fluently so they can smuck the hell with each other if there will be a sitdown between the two.

But let's see Broner vs Maidana, Marcos doesn't speak English that much and then Broner continues to trash talk. And then it backfired on him big time as he was humiliated. So just imagine if Maidana can talk back. Nevertheless, it's good that fighters like him and Manny can fight it back with their fist and talent and heart inside the ring.

1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argument: Can a digital currency sent to a wrong address be recovered ? on: June 07, 2023, 10:31:39 AM
So after a long series of argument today between a friend of mine and myself, we decided to take the question to various platforms for clear response.

The argument was about, Is it possible to recover any digital currency like Bitcoins and others after sending it to a wrong address ?

My friend actually thought it would be possible, but i tried to explain that it is not possible due to the decentralized structure. So my fellow users, please help us clarify this doubt.
If you read bitcoin's whitepaper, it will tell you that it is irreversible, and I think this is one features that Satoshi put in order to protect both parties. Perhaps it could be possible if there are legal ramifications, i.e. the court of law decided that the receiver (if know to the sender), will have to give it back.

But I don't see this happening in most cases, I mean all our identify is hidden and there are no names attach to each addresses. Unless again, if it is a centralized exchanges and that the court of law subpoena those exchanges to reveal the identify.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 07, 2023, 09:54:16 AM
Back to the Teo Lopez fight, i'm now putting some money on Taylor ML @1.56, though I believed that he will KO Lopezbut  I won't underestimate the latter as he might still stand after the bell of round 12 sounded  Grin.

For sentimental favorites, I will go with Josh Taylor to shut down that big mouth of Teo and bring his ass back to the ground. Yes, I will also wanted to see him getting knockout for good or a complete domination with by Josh.

The 1.56 moneyline odds are quite low. I initially thought that Taylor would only be a slight favorite, but with those odds, it makes me question if Lopez is just hyping things up to gain attention, while in reality, he isn't as good. Well, Josh Taylor has already proven that he owns this division, so Lopez shouldn't make excuses if he fails in this attempt. Anyway, good luck, guys. I feel that a KO win by Taylor is more appealing, though risky at the same time.

Taylor by KO offers odds of 3.30, and there's a reason why it's high. Lopez has never been knocked out in his boxing career, so the likelihood of that happening is relatively low. Additionally, Taylor is not known as a knockout artist, with only 13 knockout wins out of 19 fights, resulting in a 68% knockout rate. Furthermore, his last knockout win was in 2020.

1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 07, 2023, 08:58:23 AM
Even if casino add this kind of competition for betting, in which section would it be? Other ? I believe gamblers rarely enter this section. I bet not many will be interested in such placing bet for such championship, as it looks studit to lose money with such bets. People would bet on something they are familiar with. Sex championship - even if there will be such a sport, it will be still new and less interesting.

Let's suppose the betting sites offer the betting for sex tornamemt but how will they decide the odds. Even if they give almost similar odds to both the sides, how will the players will select the player to bet on.

We never know the strength and weaknesses of the players as we will be withnessing all of them for the first time  if we bet on any player, it wil be pure luck as no player history would be available.

Casinos will not add this sport. Its a plot. Casinos today are not asking KYC to users withdrawing small amounts but if they are considered a porno website, everyone will be asked to submit even those who are not depositing yet.

A porno website turning into a betting platform will be a new twist to this story. Yep thats adoption because maniacs are coming.  Cheesy
This is also what I'm thinking, this could turn out to be just a porno, so for sure crypto based bookies might stay away from this kind of competition. Might be good if there is a poll to see how many of us here are going to bet on this?  Grin

We are just gamblers though, not into porn or whatever, so there could be majority here that are going to sway and frown upon this kind of competition. In the first place, I don't know if you can call this one a sport and that there will be a champion.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 07, 2023, 08:22:19 AM
Just because Miami won one doesn't mean that they will be great, just because Nuggets won one that doesn't mean they will be great neither. There is no "figured out" situation right now, it's a tie and not even 3-3, it's 1-1 yet and we yet to see a lot of games left. I do not think that any team will win 4-1, which means that we are going to see plenty more games.

Let's see how it will look by the end and I think it's quite important to remember that both of these teams reached to finals beating teams that beat all other teams so these are the best of this season and it would be very impossible to judge them based on 2 games or just their seeds. Betting is incredibly difficult when we are talking about just finals, it's always a big unknown what's going to happen.

Lets also not forget that these two teams are both Conference Finals contenders in the bubble. None of them got lucky, both did it the hard way and they might as well end it on that kind of tenacity.
Both teams will not give up, I am sure about that. Miami Heat might be the underdog in the eyes of a lot of people but they showed how they should not be underestimated anymore.
I think this will defend on whose fan will we be.
I am a big fan of the Joker so I will stick with Denver Nuggets. When it comes to gambling, it will be different, if the spreads went up again in favor of the Miami Heat then I might be for them.
I am not expecting a blowout game anymore with how the Heat played. They also showed their weapons and it was damn amazing.

Honestly if Murray never blew out his knee they would have been top contenders for the last couple of years.  The heat have been the most underrated team the last couple of years.  They look terrible during the season then turn it on in the playoffs.  They have no superstars (yeah I'm not buying Jimmy is a superstar) but are the epitome of a full team.  Denver is set to win unless Miami can stay hot from beyond 3.  If they aren't a 3 point threat it will be tough for them to spread the floor.
Might be, there's a lot of what if if Murray would have remain healthy it might be a different Nuggets team. Nevertheless, Jokic has carried them while Murray was out and to some extend, Michael Porter Jr as well with his back spasm. So it pushes Jokic to be great even winning back to back MVPs.

But Murray is healthy and it's good that the Nuggets never traded him as coach Malone said that Murray once said to him that it's over for him when he blew his knees and that he will be traded, but he was assured that he was not now, they are in the finals. Great story but indeed they need to win this one for their franchise.
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which campaign is better? Bounty campaign or Signature campaign? on: June 07, 2023, 01:55:55 AM
We are a bunch of ambitious folks on a mission to revolutionize the blockchain world. Our goal is to create a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that empowers individuals and organizations like never before. Together, we'll shape the future of blockchain technology!

We're planning a series of marketing activities, and we want your input on bounty campaigns and signature campaigns. Which one gets your heart racing? Which of these two campaigns do you think will work like magic for FireDAO within the Bitcointalk community and beyond? We trust your expertise, and we want our marketing efforts to align with your preferences and expectations.
For me, both can be utilized to be a good marketing arm for your platform, get into signature campaign first, bitcoin paying and then see how it goes for you, maybe 1-2 months.

And then shift to the bounty campaigns, regardless of what it is, twitter, signature campaign and others. This will be the second layer for your campaign. But this time, it should be longer than the bitcoin paying signature campaign and it should be big as far as the number of participants. Just get a decent manager to run it for you.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: June 06, 2023, 09:50:38 PM
But if Haney wanted to step up in weight to Junior Welterweight, then Bob Arum can't do anything about it anymore. Yes Shakur wanted to fight but the burden is now on Haney or at least he has the total control of the situation. That is the only fight that matters now at 135 for Haney, Shakur or Tank Davis, and maybe that is the reason why he didn't sign to Top Rank, because only Shakur will be the guarantee fight for him. After that there's none, and the Junior Welterweight has only Josh Taylor and Teo Lopez for Top Rank. So maybe Haney will go up in weight and chase other champions that has been in the control of PBC or Al Haymon.

While waiting for Shakur or Davis, why can't Haney give Loma a rematch, after all this is still a money fight for him and give the fans what thay wanted, for him to beat Loma fair and square. Avoiding the latter will only give the fans the doubt that he is afraid of Loma. For me Loma is the beatable of the three (Loma, Shakur and Davis) so his team might consider a rematch then fight Shakur if he wins, the last for this division would be a mega fight with Davis, if he does that then boxing hard core fans will give him the respect that he is longing for.
It might be that Haney is not willing to get Loma the rematch, perhaps it was the obvious, maybe at the back of the minds of Haney's they've lost the fight so no rematch for them as they might really lost in the second fight. And I think this is the same mentality as of Lopez, doesn't want to give Loma a rematch as Loma is not 100% during that fight.

But it was a disaster for him as he lost the belt to Kambosos. Anyhow, Haney might be just taking his time, to go up in weight or just Shakur or Davis, whichever can offer him more money as he is the champion.
1040  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your bitcoin May/June price analysis? on: June 06, 2023, 09:31:56 PM
I Think bitcoin will touch down 35k$ at the end of june this was my prediction and i believe that at the end of the year bitcoin will go up above the previous ATH on year 2021 this is just a prediction but the possibility is very big since we already experience 30k$ price the bull run will surely start very soon.
Unfortunately, by the time you posted this, we haven't seen the SEC vs Binance drama. And now that we have that, in 24 hours after the news, the price goes down to $25,700.

But it seems that we have bounce back, 5% from the initial drop and it's good to see the price going back to it's norm at $27k. Or at least that is the price before the price went on the downside. But we shall see, lots of weeks for June to accomplished that $35k prediction of yours. Historically though, June seems to be a bad month, so I wouldn't be surprised if we continue to do sideways for this month.
