1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Fud or Its Reality? BTC is Down Again on: June 06, 2023, 09:13:06 PM
It's rare that I consider price movement to be market manipulation, but with news events like this that no doubt some speculators were aware was going to happen, and now the quick reversal back to the upside, it's hard to consider the likelihood that bears tried to push the price lower, but when the low of $25.5K was reached and they were unable to push prices lower, they instead look long positions back to the upside.
Thanks for this insight, the last time I saw the price is around $25,700 and I was flabbergasted to see the price hitting $27k. So clearly there is manipulation behind by whales to pushed the price lower, maybe $25k flat.

But it didn't come, there could be speculators selling or noobs who think that the price will go down hard and then it's time for this manipulators or those who speculators to buy at a cheap price again because of this FUD.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 06, 2023, 10:20:46 AM
^^Good analysis, but still though, Spence should defend himself as his public image was affected by the negotiations earlier and everyone thinks he is the reason stalling this fight. Nevertheless, the fight is going to happen now, and nothing has change, from the said date of June, Crawford is already the favorite and now that this is finalized, bookies remain as it is.

And maybe Spence might be quiet as his training is already in full swing now. Most likely, they might have been reviewing the tapes and this coach/trainer fighting some loopholes. And the same with Crawford, although as we have said, he is going to the public more often and having interviews.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 06, 2023, 09:27:32 AM
Miami vs Nuggets.

The match between the two teams, which are equally strong, will take place on Thursday, June 8.
This will be quite an interesting match because it will bring together the holders of the 1st position in the western region and the 8th position in the eastern region.
The reason is that from the previous 2 matches they had one win each so for now the position is 1 - 1.
In Game 3 this coming Thursday I believe the Nuggets will be able to win it.
Everyone has his own prediction in game 3, the Nuggets just a slight betting favorite odds, but unlike before wherein the Heat is like 3:1 underdog. In game 3, it's around 1.8 for the Nuggets, while the Miami is 2.14.

It's going to be a phenomenal serie.
Well, everyone thought that this is going to be easy series for the Nuggets, but after game 2, it's very different game now. And if I may say, maybe we will see some shift on the momentum. This time the tide is with the Heat based on what they show in the road.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: June 03, 2023, 02:39:19 PM
Soon Beterbiev (after fight with Bivol) will be in same trap Canelo is now. There will no more opponents left to beat. I mean real opponents, real danger. Right now he is already in a situation, when no matter who his opponent is, people consider this would be an easy fight for him. To bad that he is a knockout master more than a technician. A knockout make his wins look more easy. If there will be no real thread to him in next few years, he will be forced to move to cruiserweight. Otherwise like you've said, it will be "one-sided fights" and people will start to lose interest in him. That is why I sometimes wish strong boxers to lose. To feel that taste of a loss, to find new motivation to fight, to get interest to his person back.
That is if he will ever face Bivol after this one, otherwise he will really need to move up to Cruiserweight because as you have said, nothing to fight in this division as he single handled clean up he division.

I think he will be fine in the next weight class, if my memory serves me right, him and Usyk has history in the amateurs before, and now we've seen Usyk moving from CW to HW and becoming one of the best pound for pound fighters and making huge money as well. But time is not on the side of Beterbiev though, he might have like 2-3 good years in him.

Mark Magsayo eyes September or October return in new division

Former WBC Featherweight Champion Mark Magsayo might return to the ring in September or October, and guess what, not in the 126 lbs division anymore as he seems struggling at that weight and loses twice here, against Rey Vargas and Brandon Figueroa. He will now move up to the 130 lbs division - Super Featherweight/Junior Lightweight.

The plan to move up was confirmed by MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons and Magsayo himself already tweet his desire regarding that.

Can Magsayo find his comfort zone now in the 130 lbs? The current champions here:

WBO: Emanuel Navarrete
IBF: Joe Cordina
WBA: Hector Luis Garcia
WBC: O'Shaquie Foster
It's a tough list of champions to go to for Magsayo. But if he wanted to be a champion again, sooner or later he will have to face one of those and again it's going to be very difficult for him.

Hopefully though, 130 lbs will be his most comfortable weight, no more draining before the fight and he can eat and diet whatever he can. It was a tough lost against Figueroa but I do think it has something to do with the weight though. That's why at the end of the fight, he is somewhat spent and his gas tank is empty as it might affect his conditioning of trying to squeeze his body to 126 lbs.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $90,000 all in bet on: June 03, 2023, 06:53:38 AM
No offense to the OP but that is a big bet and if you have followed the betting history of the OP, yeah there are times that he won big, but majority is also a big lost for him.

Nevertheless, this could be a lessons for us, or just simply don't be greedy and just enjoy the winnings and maybe just live another day to bet and continue with your gambling activity. And this is what gambling is all about, you win some, you lose some.

For sure he can live with that and try his luck on the next game.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 03, 2023, 06:29:59 AM
I also like the fact that Monty Williams picked up a job within a month. Very good coach IMO. I don't know if it was his coaching or players egos in Phoenix.
I don't know what the management of the Phoenix Suns want because they have fired a great coach like Monty Williams while he was in charge the Phoenix Suns have always performed quite well in every NBA event.
But now Monty Williams has signed a new contract with the Detroit Pistons and is the most expensive coaching contract in history.
I'm sure Monty Williams can do quite well and turn the Detroit Pistons into an even greater team.
It looks like later if the Detroit Pistons can develop properly under the tutelage of Monty Williams then Phoenix will surely regret what he did for the dismissal of Monty Williams.
That's how it is though, the first casualties will be the coach because they are the face of the team and every moved the coach make really affects the team itself. Just like in this case, they have taken the risk to get Durant in return of their good players going into the Nets. And this might not set good with some of their players though, in my opinion.

And it's good to see Monty finding a new home, I think he will rebuild Detroit Pistons, it has the potential to be great, young players, just needed someone that could mentor them and bring the best of each players. For sure the future is bring for the Pistons now.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 03, 2023, 06:13:52 AM
I did believe that Heat actually have a chance but after first game...Denver are really a class above them in this series and on Sunday night , I think the score will be 2-0 but I do see Heat taking at least 2 games until the end.

Also, if somehow Jokic will be guarded which is almost impossible and Murray won't have a big day , Heat might get this to game 7 and that would boom the odds all over again  Grin Grin

I might have a slight different perspective to the game generally, The Nuggets were the better team obviously, individually and collectively as team, but It wasn't the Denver Nuggets defense that kept the Miami Heat at bay, but rather a really poor shooting night, while The Heat might have been force to take a number 3s, the missed way too much of them and even open mid range jump shots, Max Struss 0/9, Caleb Martin 1/7 and Jimmy Butler with only 14 shot attempts showed how disoriented the Miami Heat really were, The attempted at least 17 more shots than the Nugget and at least 12 more 3s too, but had only 2 FT attempt, that showed how unaggressive the Heat also were, they'll need to take the game to Denver aggressive and not just settle for the most open shots but rather the most likely to score ones instead.
Yeah, I do agree with your perception, not sure if this is the strategy of the Heat's team, to out shoot the Denver Nuggets, to somehow offset their height and to a certain extend their speed and their youth.

And perhaps they think that they can continue with the hot shooting they show in the last game against the Celtics. Everyone his hitting big shots that time, Struss and everyone. But it's a different story against the Nuggets in the first game, not only they shot poorly, but they also allow Jokic to post and involved his team. And then Aaron Gordon trying to be his prime version when he was still with Minnesota.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance to delist these 12 privacy coins in these eu countries from June 26 on: June 02, 2023, 10:07:52 AM
While this is a bad news for crypto, it pushes users towards DEXes, where governments have less control.

It's very wrong mate. The government can shutdown the dex as well. Did you remember what happened with etherdelta? if you remember that and you might have seen the power that owned by government. It's very easy to shutdown it. Even the government can seize the domain if they want.

There was no other solution than being compliance with the regulation. Binance just wanna do that.
Yes, even if we say that DEX is out of the hands from the government, we are still not going to relax. There might be a time that government will go after them too specially if they grown so big that users are taking advantage of it.

Just sad to see how crypto turns out in the last 5 years as privacy coins are taking a hit. Some of us could have been using for it's purpose, not necessarily to hide from tax or what the government thinks we are into this privacy coins. We just want to remain private and anonymous, that's it.
1050  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just how bad is the bear demand right now on: June 02, 2023, 09:13:40 AM
The crypto market now is highly illiquid. Hard to say if we are still in a bear market, we are either in bull or neutral. However after Ftx and all those market makers going bust there is low liquidity.

You don’t need to be a whale anymore to move the market pretty much. Look at the M5 charts and look at all the crazy wicks we are getting. They also differ depending on what exchange you are looking at.
Technically though we are still in the bear market, although since the OP had this thread in January, it's the start of what we call a recovery because in that month alone, the price goes up to 40% or more.

But I do agree that the influence of at least whales can simply move the market as what they have been doing years ago, maybe prior to 2017 bull run. The market now is very big and open that it will take whales to collude with each other to either move the price to either direction.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Intriguing article: How to Perfect Your Gambling Strategy on: June 02, 2023, 08:29:39 AM
I don't know, but it seems that it just make things complicated for gambler though? I mean if you have lost so much money in a day or two so I guess the best options is just to stop right there and don't play anymore.

No need to write your best or whatnot, although we an see that on sports betting, there will be a historical bet that we put already and maybe we can look at it and see how it goes. But then again, you will be good if you have a total control of your budget and your emotions in gambling.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Behavioural signs that suggest you are Addicted to Gambling on: June 02, 2023, 07:55:36 AM
As gambling addiction can be a challenging issue that can have a very harmful impact on an individual's life. it is always recommended to find a professional helpb rather struggling with it. Do you agree with those behaviours? If not then you can suggest some, that can be added to this topic.
Yeah, worst is that you might be taking a loan or have to take steps to produce money when you don't have it in your hand just to continue with your gambling. I remember that there was a thread here wherein the someone sold his property that he inherited from this father or a individual kidnapping his own grand kid for ransom just to continue with his gambling addictions.

So there are still a lot of behaviors that we might not yet learn from the minds of a gambling addict. And they will do everything they think is "right" or order to fuel their gambling activity. For them it is justified and logical, but for most of us, it's the emotions of a addict that is taking over them.
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you support bitcoin as Global reserve currency? on: June 02, 2023, 12:33:39 AM
Although I would say that bitcoin is everything what a pure definition of a global reserved currency.

And then it has it's volatility which might not sit well with the world government and the economies. So as much as we bitcoiners want it to become a global reserved, I doubt that it will just be as easy as that.

Remember that there are a lot of digital money, i.e. central bank digital currency (CBDC), so most likely it there will be one, it will be a consensus CBDC and not bitcoin.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: June 01, 2023, 07:27:58 AM
Because he doesn't want to give Loma his due credit for a rematch, simply as that. Just like when Teo beat Loma, he didn't want to because maybe they know that they could lose in the rematch and now playing the race card which doesn't makes any sense and obviously, he is hiding from that excuse.

Yes, that is exactly the same situation and sadly for our own Lomachenko, he again found himself in the situation where he hates the most as this have already happened to him after he fought Teofiomo Lopez. It will be unfortunate to say but I think it's time for him to move-on because no matter what he do or say or even created a large hype, if Devin's camp is not interested at all then there will be no rematch.

Quote
Nevertheless, Loma might have another chance for a belt though, it seems that he wants to go up in weight so he will have to vacant the 4 belts. And Loma being the number 1 contender, will go and fight for the best belt out there, maybe WBC or WBA.

There is no telling right now because knowing Devin Haney and Bob Arum, they might try the next weight class first rather than leaving and vacate all four belts right away because if he vacates it and will have no luck in the next weight class, he will no longer unify it as we already know his chances.
Important to mentioned though that this is Haney's last fight with Bob Arum and he says that he is no longer re-singing with the fame promoter,

Quote
Devin Haney has denied that he extended his contract with Top Rank, and he even took a shot at promoter Bob Arum in reaction to him saying that Vasyl Lomachenko easily won their fight last Saturday night

https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/05/devin-haney-denies-extending-contract-with-top-rank-2-days-before-fight/

So Top Rank no longer controls what Haney wanted to do in the future, whether have a rematch with Loma (which I doubt), or go to the next weight class and continue to chase belts. Although win or lose, Top Rank will have one of the belts that Josh Taylor and Teo Lopez are fighting for this month.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 01, 2023, 06:55:23 AM
I think Miami is a different type of team, it is not really that easy to decide how they are going to go. I do agree that they are going to be on the heel, Nuggets is a better team but this team wasn't even in the playoffs, they were at play-in tournament and then joined as 8th seed and then managed to be at the finals.

That's usually not something we see, so it is normal that we see them as underdogs here and Nuggets as the potential winners but that was the case for every single series they played so far, they have been the underdogs on every single series and yet they managed to win. I still think Nuggets will win, Jokic is just on a whole another level but that doesn't mean that Miami will give up without a fight neither, they may win.
You have a point. But, they are playing the East, while the West is a tough path to take. The Nuggets defeated the Suns with KD and Booker, and the Lakers with Lebron and AD. Although we could say the Miami Heat defeated the number 1 Bucks, I am really in doubt about how they played this year with Middleton, not in his usual consistency in the offensive area.
I think it's just a good match, the battle of defense might be the deciding point on who will win this series. Coach Mike Malone said it a lot of times, whenever the Nuggets play tough defense they become a better team.
Crossing my fingers for injuries, I don't want to see one, and I wish Tyler Herro's return will be as early as possible to give us a more entertaining game.
That may also be the key for the Miami Heat to win this series, a deeper player rotation.
I think it did good for them for Herro to be out, (not saying that we've wished he is injured), but his team has step up without him. Even Duncan Robinson has been inserted in the roster again. Duncan was the first option tough before Herro became one of their deadliest shooters. But the good thing is that Duncan embraces his role again and I think he is vital to their winning and going to the finals. So we will see how the first game will be, others is beating that the Nuggets will take game one and I'm with them.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: June 01, 2023, 06:44:55 AM
I thought Artur Beterbiev's next fight will be against Dmitry Bivol and he even voiced it out and express his interest in the post-fight interview after his dominant win against Anthony Yarde last January retaining his WBC, IBF, and WBO Light-heavyweight titles. I don't know what is the hindrance why Beterbiev-Bivol seems not a priority. Bivol's last fight was in November last year and yet no signs of his next fight.

I've just learned that the deal was won by the Top Rank Promotions.

And guess what, obviously as a champion, the purse split for this match is 70/30, in favor of Artur Beterbiev.

Still boils down as who manages Bivol and his citizenship, there were even reports that his purse was still in limbo when he fought and won against Canelo, so not just if he has been paid already since there is a boycott amongst Russian athletes, (not just boxers).

Beterbiev is under Top Rank, and he has been fighting under the Canadian flag or at least his residency is Canada for many years now. And then again, Bivol is with Eddie Hearn's Marchroom and this is the one preventing this two to fight, both of their manager doesn't want to sit down and negotiate for a unification fight.
But if the money is right, then maybe Arum and Hearn can sit down and step aside their difference and make this fight, make sense right? Politics destroys some of the potential fight that we might not see in the future, but I believed that it can also make this manager settle down if there is money in the table to make as boxing is business.

Maybe not now, Bivol will have to challenge Canelo first at 175 lbs and if he won then maybe we can talk about the potential fight with Beterbiev because there's no one in the light heavyweight that they haven't fought.
1057  Economy / Speculation / Re: One Bitcoin May Be Worth $1 Billion by 2038, Fidelity Says on: June 01, 2023, 06:27:12 AM
Bitcoin Could Hit $1 Billion Because of Changes in the Dollar Value

I think the last part of the sentence is the key. The depreciation of the dollar in 15 years is going to be such that $1B probably won't buy even 10% of what you can buy today with the same amount. If you add to that that by that time the reward per mined block will be 0.390625 Bitcoin, we see that on both sides of the equation the most likely scenario is that price will tend to rise sharply.
Yes, really based on how the dollar will be in the next 15 years, will still be the most dominant fiat or China or Russia overtaking it.

But in any case, we all know that bitcoin is going to be worth in the future, and by the time its 2038, almost all bitcoin could have been mined already, hence the price going up dramatically and all this predictions might happen regardless on how the US dollar will depreciate. I think bitcoin's value will go up as adoption and there could be countries, embracing it like El Salvador does.
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satoshi is a saint on: June 01, 2023, 05:38:24 AM
But literally speaking Satoshi nakamoto is a "saint " who literally forged the future transaction method and just disappeared
A lot of persons may say yah yah we know or nah vague post but the truth is this post is just my little way of thanking the Satoshi

I recently just took some basic knowledge about crypto currencies and Defi that was when I actually acknowledged the fact
Nah, we don't see him performing miracles, on the other hard, we really don't know if Satoshi is individual or group of persons that created bitcoin itself. Of course, we love what the did to the society with his invention, and we thank him for that.

But we shouldn't go out and make those claims that Satoshi is a saint or bitcoin is religion per se. He/they might be happy already wherever they are seeing that it has touch many lives, gives financial freedom for those unbank.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: May 31, 2023, 06:57:51 PM
And again, Teo with another controversy:

Quote
"And I said it like it is, I wanna kill Josh Taylor.

https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1441384/complete-helmet-teofimo-lopez-backlash-boxing-josh-taylor/

But I don't think that he means that, perhaps he is hyping their upcoming fight here. No boxer wants to kill his opponent inside the ring. And most deaths happen by accident.

What do you think of Teo's statement though?
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 31, 2023, 06:07:33 PM
Another thing I dont like about Haney - WBC champion said ‘Fight a white boy 10 times, I’m going to beat him 10 times’ in reference to Vasyl Lomachenko. This is not the first time he is telling how "white boys" are weaker than "black".

It is often assumed that white individuals are the ones who exhibit racism, but in this case, it is the opposite. However, we should not generalize or label people based on their race, as racism has no place in our world. While it is true that black individuals excel in many sports, including the NBA where most superstars are black, it is important to recognize that racism is unacceptable. As a boxer, Haney should consider himself a role model and inspire people rather than causing harm. Criticizing Loma using racist comments not only hurts Loma personally but also reflects negatively on the country he represents, which is highly inappropriate.

Why doesn't he give Loma a chance for a rematch instead of talking so much? If he wins again, then he can speak however he likes. The problem is, his excessive talking doesn't help him sell future fights, especially when he engages in racist criticisms towards white people. This kind of behavior could alienate the millions of fans who are predominantly white. He should be cautious with his words and consider investing in public relations (PR) to manage his image effectively.
Because he doesn't want to give Loma his due credit for a rematch, simply as that. Just like when Teo beat Loma, he didn't want to because maybe they know that they could lose in the rematch and now playing the race card which doesn't makes any sense and obviously, he is hiding from that excuse.

Nevertheless, Loma might have another chance for a belt though, it seems that he wants to go up in weight so he will have to vacant the 4 belts. And Loma being the number 1 contender, will go and fight for the best belt out there, maybe WBC or WBA.
