Sure, in crypto-currencies you usually differentiate between a mainnet and a testnet. Testnet (test network):The blockchain is maintained for testing purposes only and consists of only a handful of nodes. The use-cases for a testnet are: - to check if everything is working fine. - to let our users take a look at new features. - to let our ICO participants see that we have enough knowledge to run, maintain and enhance Lisk. We can reset the testnet at any point, because we are the only ones who are securing it. Mainnet (main network):This will be the real blockchain and network after the ICO. Here all LISK have a real value and many different persons are securing the network. At this point nobody can turn it off. |

To join in, please go to https://crypti.chat/home and create an account. You may also download the desktop client for your OS. The server address for the client is https://crypti.chat . We will be having a community meeting on Rocketchat to bring everyone up to speed on current status and plans forward. The meeting will be at 11:00 AM PST on Saturday February 6. In summary, the Foundation will be supporting Lisk and encouraging people to participate. Hello BTcoint, thank you for the interest. More information about our ICO will be released on the 6th. There won't be a fixed price per LISK. The price will be calculated at the end of the ICO and will be determined by the total sum we can collect. To setup a Lisk address and get some free LISK:1.) Go to https://login.lisk.io/. 2.) Click on "NEW ACCOUNT". 3.) Save the generated passphrase to a secure location, click on "NEXT STEP". 4.) Insert your saved passphrase and click on "GET STARTED". 5.) You are now logged in. On your left side is the navigation, there should be your Lisk address. Right now something like 432423435342342341C (in the future the C will be replaced with an L). 6.) Copy this address and paste it to the form on our faucet on https://faucet.lisk.io/. Then click on "Receive my free LISK". 7.) Within 10 seconds you shall receive 1000 LISK. Attention! These are not real LISK, they are only on a testnet to try out our client and network. The real LISK will be distributed after the ICO, accordingly to the exchanged BTC, XCR or ETH. Have fun! Unfortunately, Sia is not on our list anymore. For other use-cases it's a great technology, it just isn't very practical for Lisk. We plan to integrate IPFS as the decentralized storage solution. thank you for your quick answer. Didn't know about IPFS but looks very good and very suitable for the needs of lisk as far as I can judge as a half techie You are welcome. I think IPFS will become a major player in the future. |

How to use the Lisk forumIn the last few days I updated our own forum. It reached a state now in which I can tell you the intend why I created it. Generally, this thread here will be enough (for now) for public discussions about Lisk. For nearly everything else there is the Lisk chat. With Reddit and our forum there would be far too many options to choose from. Therefore we changed the structure of our forum, so it can now be used as some sort of knowledge base and for Lisk related advertisements. What does it mean? You are now able to promote your dapps, projects, services, and delegates on the Lisk forum. Within our other communication channels these type of information wouldn't persist, but on our forum they are always within reach. Additionally, there are now sections for complex technical discussions about the Lisk Dapp SDK and the Lisk backend like API calls or our consensus system. Sometimes a chat is just not comfortable enough to show large parts of code, this way other developers can also scroll through the threads and learn more about Lisk. Once our community is big enough I might add new sections to the forum again. Just take a look at our new forum.

These is a new feature we already implemented. - All fees are also added to the fee pool. - After one round the fee pool gets distributed equally amongst all delegates who participated in the round (ideally all 101). This article contains serious factual errors. The actual events are chronicled in my blog post, https://blog.crypti.me/crypti_status_and_commentary_on_recent_team_changes/. Max and Olivier never raised any concerns to the group about how the project was being run or levels of participation by Board Members in the open discussion on the Slack board prior to presentation of their plan. Their proposal was released very close to the holiday season which extends for several weeks when the holiday periods of the different countries of team members are combined. No vote was ever taken by the Foundation on their plan or the alternate plans forward. No further discussion on the topic ever took place by Max's and Olivier's choice after the initial meeting where it was brought up near the end of, but still in, the holiday season. The statement that their plan was rejected by the foundation is inaccurate. Dilution of existing investment in Crypti was never on the table since this would involve a hard fork to add more XCR. The decision to be made was whether to have XCR holders convert XCR to the new project or do a sharedrop so they could keep their existing XCR and also have a stake in the spin-off. Litoshi Translation into Plain English:We were key people on the Crypti project, but the funds at Crypti have almost run out. We really need another job, because we have a wife/girlfriend. We have learned from Etherium's marketing strategy that PR is 10 times more profitable than actual product. We are pumping this coin for all it is worth. While Oliver works on code, Max is posting to every blog, twitter, and social media possible. We also know that there are lots of greedy people out there that love IPOs. They all want to be in on the IPO, so they can hopefully get a 5X or 10X return on their IPO coins within a week or two. We hope to get hundreds of BTC, maybe even a thousand BTC. Then we could pay ourselves 50 BTC a month, each. Please keep matters concerning the Crypti Foundation to your own thread. We won't be getting drawn into this petty back and forth, as there is no point in inflaming the situation further. Therefore, we will ignore your completely false comments, and get on with the job of building Lisk. We suggest you do the same with Crypti, and let it be. |
