Can someone who speaks Dutch look at the following translation?

If it's good we will push it to our web client as soon as possible. Smiley

this ICO should be done as EXP was. The funds raised held in multisig transparent wallets that can only be released over time for work done.
This should be how all ICO are conducted after all the scams we've had on here.

Don't want another bitbay ico.

Wasn't EXP 90% pre-mine? ETH clone with 90% pre-mine, what could go wrong for the investors  Roll Eyes

I know the founder of EXP, I have Christopher in my old Skype account since a few years. I know nothing about EXP or him personally. So I can't say anything about the "90% pre-mine".

Cryptohunter2: I already explained the reasoning why we don't do it in the EXP way. Additionally, if you look at this recent news article then you can be 100% sure that nobody will try to scam anyone with his real name and face out in the public. Wink

I added the signature.

For me it's not visible. Please try it again. Smiley
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 17, 2016, 12:58:38 PM
I added the signature.

I'm considering investing in the IPO but I'm not sure whether to invest bitcoins or cryptis. Both bitcoin and crypti will change in value before the end of the IPO and one of them would get a better IIPO deal. It's just difficult to predict which one is best to use.

I can only tell you the preference of the Lisk team -> Bitcoin. If you are going to hold your LISK for more than one month, you will see all the benefits of supporting this project with BTC instead of XCR. That is because we will have real capital to work with. Smiley

We need to clear a few things out (Escrow, How to invest) in a third blog post. Once this is done we will collect all information together and publish them into one big blog post.

There I would like to link your charts as well. If this is the final form, I will copy them over to my account tomorrow.

I will give you the password to the spreadsheets on Lisk Chat.

I have the spreadsheet set up so it guides the eye of the viewer to the one number that answers the title question, and then guides them into the ways that number could change in the future as more donors show up.

Also, things are arranged so that you only have to change the 7 numbers in the upper left black boxes and everything else will update automatically.

Great thanks. Smiley

Is the selling price of Lisk during the ico still a secret?

No.

The selling price of Lisk is determined by the total number of donors (both BTC and XCR) that show up, not by the Lisk management.

The selling price of Lisk will go up daily (become more valuable) as more and more donors show up during the ICO.

Take a look at these charts.

How many Lisk you will get for every Crypti you donate (Ownership dilution / concentration):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GwWKK7bpjYTxtQRIq_l2xiKI9rEOpTU1oTt0q3C6Mc8/edit#gid=763738405

What Satoshi price you will pay for one Lisk with the Bitcoin you donate (Logical Lisk starting price at exchanges):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q2MJ25_bK5Yi60FYohYCUEkujUtL5c0P1dOdlDMPMBI/edit#gid=763738405

Max, my latest versions of these charts incorporate the 15/10/5 % reward structure.  This is the final form I intend to update daily during the ICO, but I am certainly willing to make any changes that you direct.

Do you want to put links to these in the OP and ICO documentation?

How could I get coins via sig?

You need to write once here in the thread (what you did). I will write down the number of weeks you had your signature active. Then once we launch at the end of March, I will contact you here in private and ask you for your Lisk address. I will then send you the LISK to the address you give me.

How do the bounties for facebook likes and twitter followers work? Do we have to post links to our facebook and twitter accounts in this thread or just follow and like the Lisk facebook and twitter accounts without mentioning it in this thread?

I'm the admin of the Facebook profile and Twitter profile, therefore I see all participants and can write them down. Once the bounty campaign is over I will contact everyone through the social network profiles and ask them for their Lisk address.

Lisk Academy

Today I started the first two videos for the Lisk Academy. It will be a video lecture which covers all Lisk functionalities and features; like client handling, being a delegate, coding a dapp and more. I plan to add 2-3 videos a week, so we have quite a lot of videos at launch. The videos will always be short and always only cover one topic. I hope to create a section for this on Lisk.io soon, so that the Lisk Academy becomes the number one contact point for new users and beginners.

I hope that the quality will go up over time as well.  Smiley

Good stuff to enhance usability. I would put all the tutorial video's in the OP (Video Tutorials), so they are not scattered around the thread.

Yep! We need to enhance the OP greatly over the next few days. So that everyone is on the same page. Smiley Will do so, thank you for the hint.

still 1300 sats equivalent per crypti for ico ?

Yes. That means 1,000,000 XCR will count as 13 BTC. There are no bonuses for XCR participants.

What would be the ico price of LISK in terms of BITCOIN & ETHEREUM?

It's not possible to calculate this ahead. Please read our ICO blog posts.

My team and I have been working on an exchange and we're definitely considering adding LISK into the exchange.

Why not build the exchange as a dapp and trustless? This would directly be a huge USP and would catapult you to the top of decentralized exchanges over night. Wink

Won't they need Lisk to start buying Lisk then? Haha
Yes it would be great indeed though, I may start a project like that right after I finish Dust

Which is after I finish understanding the app's code

Yes, but you could also implement a custom token.

However the best is of course to use x LISK for one transfer. This will create a big incentive for the sidechain forgers and will probably make you LISK rich if the exchange gets popular. Smiley

Is that already possible now?

Yes, I was thinking of that too. I for one would rather use Lisk itself..
I've got many ideas which I intend to develop on once I finish Dust and move on to new DApps on Lisk Smiley

Yes, that would be already possible now. However, such a dapp is a lot of work. So it's not a matter of hours to program this. Wink

Where are the ICO details? From the OP it starts in a few days, but no info yet? Will you guys have a forum member escrow or an exchange?

If it's hard to find the ICO details I will update the OP today. You can find all information on our blog.

Is the signature campaign giveaway only for full, senior, hero, and legendary members? Most of those members are already in long running signature campaigns and won't want to lose their spots. Most of the signature campaigns with good payouts are now full and it can take months to get back in for someone who loses his spot.

Everyone can participate.

Thanks, I have updated my signature, but I can't fit the whole full member signature in. I trimmed it down and only have 11 spare characters left after putting the link in.  Is my signature OK to register for the giveaway or should I change something in it?

It's ok. If it's possible make it bold.

Thank you very much. Smiley

Reddit Troll /u/liskhq

Hello Everyone,

Whoever it is spamming on Reddit, spreading lies and hate. We are not associated with this user. My Reddit username is /u/MaxKK.

I posted an official response to the Ethereum subreddit. I hope you will upvote it, so that more users see it.

Thank you very much.

As I understand it, the fact that a) Lisk uses Javascript for DAPP development and b) Lisk DAPPS will each run on their own sidechain, are 2 great advantages of Lisk over Ethereum.  Are there other advantages?  And to be fair and balanced, what about disadvantages of Lisk vs. Ethereum?

Also, are DAPP sidechains secured by the Lisk network, or do the sidechains need to have their own block signers?

Thanks in advance.  Very exciting project!

Advantages:

- Lisk offers a whole package for dapps, i.e. frontend and backend. That means you also have a decentralized hosted frontend of the dapp instead of accessing it through a centralized server which is often the case at Ethereum. (see: Gnosis & Augur)

- Not so sure about Ethereum here, but Lisk runs on all devices. On a 9$ C.H.I.P. or a Raspberry Pi. And this is enough to secure Lisk AND several sidechains! I also had it running on a 64MB VPS once.

- Our client, I hope you saw it. In comparison to Ethereum we have a GUI developed and maintained by the core team. It will always have the latest features and is really simple to use.

- Inbuilt Dapp Store which lists all available dapps on the network and will be enhanced greatly in the future.

Differences:

- While Ethereum is a smart contract platform, Lisk is a dapp platform. That means at Ethereum you can only develop single smart contracts which costs real ETH for every step, and you need to combine several contracts to form one dapp.

- You can only develop the dapp backend on Ethereum, on Lisk you can develop the whole package (see above) of frontend and backend.

Disadvantages:

- At Lisk you can't develop smart contracts which are always being performed by all miners on the network.

- Headstart of Ethereum and we don't have a Vitalik. Smiley

One other question.  Have you secured any exchanges for Lisk to trade on after launch?  Thanks.

We are public since two weeks and have generated quite a buzz already. I'm sure we will be listed on several ones soon after the launch. We will actively pursue this 1-2 weeks into the ICO. Smiley

To name a few we definitely will contact:

- Poloniex
- Bittrex
- BTC38

Thank you for your response.  Just one thing I don't think was answered -- do sidechains need their own block signers...or are they secured by the main chain?  Thanks again!

Every sidechain is secured by their own block signers, also called "master nodes". There can be a total of 101 sidechain master nodes and they are also based on the DPoS consensus mechanism. Our long-term goal is to create a marketplace for plug 'n play sidechain forgers. That means everyone can get a list of all sidechains running on the Lisk platform, and individually apply for being a forger of the sidechain. The exact functionality would have to be designed properly, but roughly this is the plan. This way people can even earn a living by forging many sidechains.

Also, if one dapp really goes through the roof. Then I'm very optimistic that the forgers of this sidechain will earn a lot of money. Same applies, if someone develops a JavaScript crypto-currency on a Lisk sidechain with some unique selling point.

Could you go into more detail on what kind of technical and in-depth details Lisk is lacking?

Sure. In particular:

1) How do dapp chains and the main chain interact?
2) How do they solve the halting problem? Furthermore, how are transaction fees calculated?

Thank you. We will add these topics as soon as possible to the white paper. I also sent you my Skype handle via PM. I think Saturday we will have an updated white paper, would be great if you can take a look then. Smiley

i loss my lisk on http://login.lisk.io
where are they??  Huh Huh

The whole Lisk network is currently running in a testnet, which gets reset from time to time. That means these LISK you owned are only testnet LISK.

The last reset of the network was on the 10th February when we introduced Lisk v0.1.1. As it was mentioned in the blog post.

Quote
Please note: With the release of 0.1.1, we have reset the testnet, so any previous balances will be gone. To receive more LISK, please use our faucet.

Once Lisk is officially launched this obviously will not be the case anymore. We will work with blockchain milestones in the future, which removes the need for resets. We are familiar with this update procedure, however it takes a bit longer to implement with each update. Therefore we are resetting the testnet at the moment with every update, to allow faster development.

You can use our faucet again in order to get some LISK and play around with our client.

Bleutrade is also good option.

Decred first listed on that exchange

Okay, I will put it onto our list and will take a look later. Smiley

Thank you.

I often get the message that the Crypti network is not working, this is wrong. The network is live and healthy. Only the official Crypti blockchain explorer (cryptichain.me) and official Crypti web login (wallet.crypti.me) are not working!

Poloniex and Bter withdrawals are working as well!

Please use our mirrors which Olivier put online. Smiley

Hello Crypti,

I have just deployed an SSL enabled wallet at:

https://cryptiwallet.lisk.io/

This wallet is powered by a load-balanced cluster of 5 dedicated nodes, and is hosted on the high quality cloud hosting provider UpCloud.

As reminder, there is also a dedicated block explorer: https://cryptichain.lisk.io/ (also powered by this same cluster).

These two sites will operate throughout the course of the Lisk ICO.

Kind regards, Olivier.
