Ich werde am 19.09.2016 als Referent in Frankfurt beim EUROFORUM mit dabei sein und einen Vortrag über das Thema "Blockchains außerhalb des Finanzwesens; der nächste Schritt für das Internet?" halten.

582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 29, 2016, 09:55:30 AM

I bought in during the 10% phase with a single transaction.

I have to send them my only lisk address and ask that the bonus be applied?  This isn't automatic anymore?

Same question here

The 10% etc bonus should still be applied automatically.

The stuff you are linking to are the bounties for generating publicity for the ICO and have nothing to do with the bonus on early investments.

Not true (see screenshot below). I have deposited 1 time in the "Early adaptor bonus" time, and 1 time after. The amount of Lisk received for each deposit was the same.
My question is, where do I contact them for this?; You may contact us through their respective sites.

I know that is the case, but they have said multiple times that the bonus will be applied at a later time.

No need to worry, you will get those 10%.

Yes. The bonuses will be applied before launch. Smiley

Yeah, I think hitting the ground running by having some usable Dapps ready is important for the long term process of the project.

I still like the idea of a decentralized email client, if that is at all possible:
https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=95

And I am a big fan of the dead man switch thingy:
https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24

Apart from that, a game always is a good idea. Poker or something along those lines makes sense, obviously, although I am not much of a gambler and don't really like the idea of Lisk being too closely associated with gambling.

I'm wondering how a poker dapp could create randomness avoiding the math()random command...

I was thinking about it, but i can't reach the solution.

AFAIK there are three ways to do it.

1. Oracle

You have an oracle (outside, disconnected with the dapp) which is giving you a random number. This could either be something centralized which uses random() or something decentralized in which a bigger number of users state a number from which a random number is generated.

2. User input

If you have a dapp with 2 users which are "competing" against each others, then each of them could state one random number. The final random number could then be generated out of this.

(e.g. User A: 5, User B: 7 -> 5+7=12 -> 12%10=2 -> 2 is the random number) (I don't know if this is mathematical secure, or if the distribution is "unfair". It's just an example)

3. Block IDs

You could also use block IDs of the future.

At time 0s you need a random number. To get this random number it takes 1 minute (6 block IDs). At time 60s you can then continue with the dapp.

These variations are obviously not good enough for poker. Poker is extremely hard to do, you could check out Pokereum how they are doing it. Smiley For dice or slot machines these are legit methods in my opinion.

I have been reading about the DApps and they are definitely awesome! However, how does the developer make money if they need to pay an initial fee to put the DApp sidechain on the network?

Later: Buy a dapp with LISK

Now (and later): Internal dapp functions cost a fee (e.g. send a message for 1 LISK). All sidechain forgers will get 100%-x% of these fees, the dapp owner gets x%.

Lisk dapps still gonna be compatible with crypti after the recent changes?

No. All commits from the 19th and 20th April are the necessary changes for dapps with the DB switch.

https://github.com/MaxKK/guestbookDapp/commits/master

However, a few weeks ago Oliver fixed a bug in the Dapp SDK already, so at that point of time the dapps were not compatible anymore.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 27, 2016, 02:19:16 PM
There's a part missing of the signature code for full members in the OP.
Since it will be a while before the release, I will be updating the Dutch thread with all the recent changes today.
Keep up the good work guys, nice to see how big of a community is forming around Lisk.

Send me a PM after you have done so.

is there collaboration between lisk and other projects ?

how many devs have u ?

~CfA~

Right now there is no collaboration between Lisk and other crypto-currency projects. Status on developers is still the same.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 27, 2016, 01:56:32 PM
There was a day 1 investor bounty as well. I was in the op but not anymore.
Any info on that?

That is the first day reward. It will be distributed later on. (200,000 LISK out of our own private pockets to the first day investors)

Community Update - April 26th, 2016 - Read the update here Cheesy

^ push for visibility.

Whats up with translations bounties ?!

We are still preparing them. Because client translations are also in this category, they will take a while longer.

@liskhq - Let's talk about 0.2.0 testnet reset.

Is there any chance that you can make a list of accounts in the current 0.1.4 testnet and create a 0.2.0 genesis block that gives all current testnet accounts 1000 testnet Lisk? This would go a long way to prevent a crazy rush to the faucet and a thousand direct messages to Joel asking for a transfer of test Lisk.

Also, are we going to be limited to 101 votes in the testnet reboot, as we will be at mainnet launch, or will we have unlimited votes as in the 0.1.4 testnet?

It is possible, but would make things more complicated. We will do it the same as last time. Let more people slowly into the top 101.

101 votes limit should be integrated in 0.2.0. Basically, it should also be integrated in 0.1.4 already but with a limit of 104 votes. Let's write on the Lisk Chat about that.

BIP39 will be enforced yes. With the English word list.

Max is going to speak on a conference on the 22. May. Thats a very nice timing to get a good price from the start on.

Does anyone have any details on that?

I don't have any details. Not sure what he is talking about.

This thread is becoming trash with useless trolls.

Important announcements are being missed now and then.
I suggest Max to create a self moderated thread soon.

All important announcements are in the OP and our blog. Best to check out our blog once a day than this thread. Wink

There was some words about new bounties. What can we expect?
I also liked the idea of NEW bounties. Max can you give us more information about it/.?

Cant wait for the upcoming bounties. What will they look like?
When do we know more about it?

Yeah,I wonder the same.

I will probably release more information in 1-2 weeks. These bounties are tailored for developers.

LiskHQ

When bonuses will be added to our exchanges and lisk count?

This week. Back end changes are finished.

Max is going to speak on a conference on the 22. May. Thats a very nice timing to get a good price from the start on.

Which conference is this?  Sounds like the launch date was not selected at random...

Max: I fight with you guys.

I support this, but only on Saturday nights! Cheesy

(...and I realize that probably less than 5% of you are old enough to get this joke! I'm old... Sad)

MalReynolds may get the joke without Google. Cheesy

Sadly, I do.  I saw Sir Elton from the 2nd row during his 1974 Yellow Brick Road tour.  For $5. With my sister, because I couldn't get a date.

Am i able to run active delegate on Raspeberry Pi 3 B?

This is possible. But we don't recommend it. The mainchain needs to be as secure as possible, i.e. fast VPS/server with DDoS protection. You can run one (or more) sidechains on your Raspi. Smiley
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 26, 2016, 02:41:23 PM
I just got a newsletter and the release date is now 24/05/2016  Huh That's quite a bit later than announced

so as an dev yourself, you just adopted this terrible behaviour, not to read updates in the op, but asking directly on the last page, without reading anything?

There are no further updates of any substance in the OP. I just think that being almost 2 months behind when you have collected millions of dollars in investment is poor.

What do you want to see in the OP? I keep it up-to-date all the time.
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 26, 2016, 12:38:22 PM
Thanks for the info. More posts like this one will inspire a lot of confidence. Please keep it up.

I will try my best! Smiley

It's awesome to see such overall posts from you again. I missed that.

When you post something like this everyone feel confident about the future of Lisk Smiley

Hehe, thanks. I will try my best to get back to it. At one point it was just too much to answer all these requests here on the forum. That alone was a 24h job.

However, if I see serious posts I will answer them. Best if you guys PM me with the post, so I absolutely don't miss it. Wink There is so much spam here, I can easily miss a post from time to time.
591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 26, 2016, 11:50:42 AM
have you incorporated yet?

No. The charter is nearly ready, need a few updates and explain it to Oliver. Then we may adjust it again after his feedback. Then we can do the next steps.

The dev probably delayed the launch because of midterms and will delay again in May because of finals.  lol

I don't study anymore. Oliver also isn't enrolled. Wink

However, in Germany right now the university summer term just started and all exams are only at the end of it. That means around August/September. (In the winter term they are all in February/March)
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 26, 2016, 11:23:55 AM
So when is LISK going to launch for real, it already be delayed 3 times

May 24th is the first explicit launch date we gave yet. Our estimations were delayed, that's why they were estimations. Wink

About the database switch -- SQLite sucks at concurrent writing (it locks the DB) and most probably this was the issue.

Yep. We knew of the concurrency problem all along, but the stress test really opened our eyes that SQLite is really much worse than we anticipated and needs to be switched out sooner than later. Regarding why Postgres, you should write Oliver a PM on our chat or here on BTT.

People were right to be upset because the delivery launch was not kept to the promise, now you can call the new one the first explicit launch or anything. A launch date is a launch date not matter how we want to disguise now. Saying this now we all have to move forward but please not more misleading information that can upset once again people. Or we are serious what we say or we dont say it. 1.) If you are not sure about delivery time better not to say it or say something more credible like sometime summer time or winter time. Please dont give dates for the sake of it. Now lets move forward. 2.) Now we would like report weekly how the money is invested. Team members names and what they do. 3.) What marketing are you going to do, while people wait lets us see you are moving your fingers and want to see day by day marketing. Sorry if we sound now demanding but you let us down so its your duty now to bring our morals up and bring us all together with actions, real marketing. real name of all the people working on this project not donation. Please everyone lets move on and support lisk till the end as long as the Lisk Team deliver and make us see they are spending the money in marketing and hiring people not to make another delay. Many thanks

1. We said estimations like "End of March. End of April". Now we have a date, because we are certain we meet it. It's exactly what you are asking for.

2. Which money? Everything until now is paid out of our own pockets. Before the ICO started and we knew how successful Lisk will be, we already spent about $8000. Now we come closer to $20000. We don't have access to any funding collected. There is still only Oliver, Joel and I in the team.

Joel: Doing everything associated with the community. Answering questions, preparing academy guides, sending the newsletters, publishing community updates, handling the bounties (I think over 10000 stakes) and so on.

Oliver: Is developing and optimising Lisk. Just in the last week til today he successfully migrated the codebase to a different database engine, and improved block processing efficiency ten fold (after improved syncing speed twenty fold before). Besides Lisk core development, he also updates (with every release) the explorer, faucet, lisk-cli, lisk sdk, binaries, docker etc. He also regularly updates the Lisk chat and is currently stress testing 0.2.0 while preparing the release of it.

Max: I fight with you guys. :p No honestly, I'm talking with a lot of people which benefit will only become visible in many weeks or months. But this is extremely important. Besides this I try to be as open with everything as possible. Preparing important documents for launch on the vision and further development plans. Checking the legal documents provided by our lawyer for the legal Lisk entity. Answering emails, interviews, and questions. Improving the Lisk front end. Taking care of financials and the numbers.

3. We recently hired a PR company which worked with many crypto-currency startups before. More news soon. Besides that with the release now on the horizon we will start the marketing machine again. I think the past showed we know what needs to be done in that regard. Wink

So, I am a BIG supporter of lisk.. since day 1.. I'm going to offer a platform for buying and selling ICO tokens for those that are interested. I'm offering this independently of the LISK dev team and I'm offering this without any fees or costs.. just to support the community in lieu of the less than convenient delays. My post can be read here:

http://www.allentownbitcoins.com/mybb/showthread.php?tid=94

are you part of the lisk team

No, he is not. If anyone is doing trades, obviously just with escrow. Smiley

Why does this thread have such a insane influx of new accounts .. is it all just one guy wtf is going on here?
Nearly 700 pages but 90% of it is complete garbage mostly posted by very new accounts made during or after ICO.

TBH - There are probably people getting paid in both directions but it is pretty easy to see all the new accounts that are talking crap and trying to bring uncertainty to LISK.
Any competing coin can see LISK as a legitimate threat. The Crypti platform is a decent one to build on and on top of that to have Javascript to do what Ethereum is doing
certainly has some on the Ethereum side a bit worried. (I like both btw.)

Add to that that the BTC price is starting to skyrocket and LISK is not getting any of that ICO money until the coin goes public. I have a feeling they are going to have a lot more money
in BTC a month from now. That is dangerous to competing coins.

The space is so new, if you can't beat them, well, wear them out, bombard them with crap messages, etc. and will only affect LISK early on. Nothing new and the tech will speak for itself in time if it was and is being done properly.

Its about sharing

I also think this is the case. Lisk is a substantial threat to many crypto-currencies on the market. It's not a threat to all the legit projects out there like BitShares, Factom or Ethereum. They profit from Lisk, as we profit from them. By bringing more people and progress into the space.

However, it's a threat to many smaller projects which are all just re-inventing the wheel and bring nothing new to the table. I think with the next bubble the legit projects will suck a lot of money out of the smaller ones.

At the end of the day all these controversies and sockpuppets are a complete farce, and everyone can see it. Especially after we release Lisk 0.2.0 this week.

Everyone who wants serious discussions come to our own forum or chat.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 25, 2016, 04:53:03 PM
I still want clarification from management today why they wrote donating instead of investment.

Nothing more than another security precaution. Many other projects used this word as well. IOTA, Ethereum. They all use it. Wink
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | Dapps | Sidechains | Dapp Store | OPEN SOURCE | 100% own code | DPoS on: April 25, 2016, 03:17:09 PM
Basically , lisk is crypti ... but better (Crypti 2.0).

Right ?

Lisk Is Crypti. Not sure if better. The only important new technical feature of Lisk is the inflation. But with the money they (Lisk) received they will add more.

Crypti likely dead now because of 80% stake ownership by Max and Olivier.

The forging rewards (inflation) are not "the only important new technical feature". Oliver worked on countless optimisations and other things which are 1000x more important and more time intensive. As Vega pointed out, everyone who wants to break Crypti at this point of time, can do so.
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 25, 2016, 01:44:12 PM
I remember reading many pages ago that a comparison between Crypti & Lisk will be provided soon.

Any updates on this?

I can tell that Lisk has many advantages already over Crypti, but a clear comparison table/infographic would clearly make that stand out.

I said I will provide it at launch. What I can do is to make a forum post and add all the things we change there. And once we have the launch version I will publish the blog post as intended. Will do so once 0.2.0 is released this week.

What I really don't understand is that people must have known they are investing in a rebranded Crypti with 1 person managing and 1 person coding. The interesting stuff was supposed to happen with the funds, after first mainnet launch? Right?

Am I the one who got all this wrong??

You are right. 99% is yet to come. We have many years full of new features and dapps ahead. Smiley
600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 25, 2016, 12:31:40 PM
"Pre-launch Development Plan

Security

To improve the overall security of accounts, we are implementing the BIP39 scheme for first and second passphrases, i.e. a string of 12 words. By additionally salting the second passphrase we are aiming to prevent rainbow table attacks. Additionally, users who are using multiple Lisk accounts with the same second passphrase will become more difficult to trace.

• Enforce mnemonic checksum (BIP39) on passphrases (1st & 2nd).
• Salting the second passphrase with the public key of the first passphrase.
• Fix recently discovered XSS attack vulnerabilities."

Dose this related to the upcoming Lisk clients only? or also to our validated ICO addresses??

I never had a second passphrase, just the 12 word key I generated during the ICO

The "12 word key" generated during the ICO IS your first passphrase. The second passphrase is optional and can be configured later in the client against a small network fee. The words in the "12 word key" are called mnemonics. The checksum makes sure that the specific format (12 words) are used. The generated passphrases during the ICO already follow this principle, which is explained in the BIP39 (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal #39).

So you don't need to worry about anything. All is OK. If you ask yourself why we do this. I saw MANY passphrases cracked at Nxt, because people chose easily passphrases. The BIP39 passphrases are extremely secure and uncrackable in the next centuries. Wink

Also shouldnt they have tested it before and then announce a date? I feel like this is going to be the most dissapointing ico of 2016.

We thought that the Crypti code base would be more robust. We already implemented a lot of improvements and Lisk is not just a Crypti fork anymore. It's a completely new "beast" now. Smiley

"As planned", "Delay", "promised release date",…

Am I the only one remembering that all given dates before were ESTIMATIONS? They never promised anything, up until now. May 24th is the FIRST release date that they are firm on.

Correct.

So let's skip the FUD and discuss some bottom-line facts.

What broke the Lisk 0.1.4 network was 600 transactions in a minute or 10 transactions per second (10 tps).

For years, Bitcoin has been limited to 7 tps until changes made to cope with its DDoS attack last year.

https://blog.blockcypher.com/a-bitcoin-spam-attack-post-mortem-s-la-ying-alive-654e914edcf4#.mypx90hpi

http://fc16.ifca.ai/bitcoin/papers/BHMW16.pdf

@liskhq : What tps figure is the new and improved Lisk 0.1.5 network designed to support?  What tps figure has been demonstrated in testing?

A major change made by BTC has been modifications in their transaction queueing system that stores excessive incoming transactions for processing during later blocktimes.   Basically they store on the machines of individual miners those transactions that cannot be processed immediately.  The miners then resubmit those transactions for processing at a later time.

What is the buffer size in Lisk 0.1.5 among the 101 Active Delegates (both in bytes and in transactions) that stores "excessive" transactions for later processing during future blocktimes?

We successfully tested 3 full rounds with 50tx per block, i.e. 16200tx per hour. We are certain that later on there is much more upside potential. We are just taking the more reliable/secure route right now and set the limit to 25tx per block. The new version will be 0.2.0 because it's quite a big update.

Regarding the "buffer size" which is called payload in Lisk, I'm not 100% certain. Better ask Oliver later on the Lisk Chat or forum. However, a regular transaction requires 117 bytes (without 2nd passphrase). The payload maximum size is currently 1MB. That means (1024*1024)/117=8962 tx. This can obviously be increased. As I said, better ask Oliver for this. Smiley

I just quote ETH tps to make a comparison:

How many TPS does Ethereum support

between 20 tps to 45 tps. possibly more.

With CASPER and future iterations what will the block times and tps be?

1-2 second block times and 115000 tps.

You know it's marketing. Same as BitShares 100000 tps and in the end they can handle 1000 tps. Our numbers look small in that regard right now, but (1) much volume will happen on our sidechains only and (2) we will gradually increase our supported tps. Smiley
