1081  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash on: December 20, 2017, 10:58:35 PM
I really don't understand why there is all the hate for Bitcoin Cash, I am not a supporter nor am I un supportive
of it. But I just don't get why everyone hates it so much, it makes sense groups would fork off because of the
huge fees and backlog.

I hate it that people I know who are just now getting into bitcoin have to pay these rediculous fees and wait
hours to get their transactions confirmed even after they paid a $10 fee.

Besides the trademark infringement arguement why the hate? Enlighten me please.
1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How Secured is MyEtherWallet? on: December 20, 2017, 10:53:18 PM
Important to understand that MEW doesn't hold your private keys, it just allows you to interact with ether
blockchain.

Most important thing to do is bookmark it and make sure that you dont ever click on a phishing link, they have
been going around slack like the plague. Many communities have moved to discord because of it.

MEW and Etherdelta are great steps ethereum community has taken to get closer to a more decentralized trading
and wallet integration.

make sure you keep constant backups of your ether wallet offline. Good luck
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] leonArdo - Bitcoin Trading Bot for Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitstamp, Bitfinex.. on: December 20, 2017, 10:49:06 PM
Bittrix has been horrible lately, my orders are not being fulfilled and all the fud lately on reddit is truly showing the true colors of Bittrix.

Missing withdraws, locked accounts ... Lots of bad shit!!

I want to move away from this Exchange and go to somewhere else I'd even switch bots if i have to.

Hopefully marginsoftware releases support for binance quickly before we all lose our investments

Ok now...lets not FUD bittrex too hard, keep in mind their volume has skyrocketed since late and they are
doing a way better job than poloniex did when their volume shot up back in the spring.

Bittrex is a good exchange and has done an amazing job fostering this rediculous amount of growth, sheez
the other day their volume was around 100k btc now today its like 241k btc...the last thing we want right
now is an exchange to go down.

I would love to start helping out where I can. Anything marketing / PR related would be up my alley. I can edit and review most content, especially in regards to grammar. Any tasks out there for bounties?

Thanks for your interest, best thing to do would be to join our community slack and get in touch with some
members of the DMD foundation. They are always open to new ideas, the link for slack is on the front page of the thread.
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: December 20, 2017, 05:37:37 PM

Very nice banner ad there, where else do you guys plan to advertise? Also are community members allowed
to use the ad to run our own ad campaigns?

There are some other coin communities I am following who are implementing similar ads on other platforms like
linkedin, i will monitor the results and if they are good maybe I will run some DMD ads.

Past few days have been great for dmd price, good to see new people coming in.
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: December 20, 2017, 04:38:48 PM
Have some newbie friends interested in this coin, shows that new crypto investors are finding sia among all the crypto madness.

2018 could be a great year for the price of Sia, forgive me i dont want to dig around but could anyone link me to a calculator or give me a rough idea of what kind of returns to expect from allocating hard drive space to sia? Thanks, happy holidays to sia community
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAG] X11 POS/POW+Masternodes MAGNET / magnetwork.io on: December 20, 2017, 12:32:56 AM
This is an interesting coin, I like the budget voting based on the entire network and not just the masternodes. Anything in the works to get added on cryptopia?

Also on the website it talks of expanding the community in 2018 which I agree is paramount to any success of a masternode coin but how is this planned to be done? Thanks, good luck everyone.
1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PHR] Phore - 100% PoS 3.0 - Masternodes - Zerocoin - Governance No ICO/Premine on: December 20, 2017, 12:19:52 AM
Why is price dropping bad news ?

It's been this price several times over  the  past few days, no there's no bad news.  Roll Eyes

I swear some of you fellas want charts with only green candles. It went from 4-19k of course it's going to take a break.

It really hasn't dropped that much either, this is basically the dip and some people don't understand that

Ya price went up pretty quick on this one, congrats to all the holders. I remember reading about phore and thinking "i should buy" at ~4ksats?...around there

But ya kicking myself now about it, but this is a healthy correction, any newbie holding this should just keep holding it...buy in lower to get that masternode and then just hold.

1089  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash on: December 20, 2017, 12:16:15 AM
Usual correction of 5-10%, nothing to worry about so far. Of course with the price bitcoin has reached, a 5% correction means minus 1000$ on price, this could frighten newbies.

Agreed. If anything, this is going to push people to start buying more. They're soon going to realize they won't get many more opportunities to purchase sub 18,000 in the future. Will probably continue the cycle of up and downs by having another surge after this correction. Bitcoin's got a pretty cyclical nature and I think it's secure enough to the point right now that people aren't trying to get rid of it (aka, no major drops soon).

This...

Bitcoin is not what it used to be, too many people know about it now. Anytime it dips it gets bought up so fast, back in 2014/2015 this wasn't the case. Also with institutional money involved I think it's safe to say we will never see another sub 10k bitcoin price.

One thing people are missing is that there has been little to no bad news around bitcoin lately. If we had an exchange hack or something like that maybe a real crash could happen ya know?

Getting ready to run ads on Linkedin @ $2 per click. Just need to have the Crypto-city design team darken the letters on the logo for better visibility.  Cheesy

1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | Generous Reward Staking | Advanced Staking Controls & Wallet on: December 20, 2017, 12:00:34 AM
There are a lot of these around right now. Altcoins popping like crazy

Looks like HYP will be no exception.
A cup and handle EXPLODES ... with interest of course Wink
Let's see if that happens  Grin Grin Grin

I'm not an expert chartist but I'm seeing so many of these completing now I do not doubt a very strong possibility with HYP

Another alternative I see is a less impulsive rise to form another cup shape. Same outcome, just takes longer.

I'm most curious about this being compounded with the BTC price.
If BTC still rising then ... wow
if BTC falling then HYP is an great longer term store for BTC.

Either way I'm struggling to see much downside here.

I don't think there is much downside to buying hyp right now, the price has bottomed out really, never gone below 10 sats

The number of people in discord has been growing and growing by the day and there is many things in action marketing and development wise.

It really is a sort of "rivival" going on right now with hyperstake, even though it was never really dead. But tab is very active in slack and there are many developments coming down the pipeline. One for example will be the amount of time required to stake which will lower the barrier to entry for newcomers.

I still believe that when the number 2 market cap coin goes full POS, we will see a huge amount of exposure to novel staking coins.
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: December 19, 2017, 03:22:36 PM
You guys saying I should just rest my case? Lol, no. I am pretty sure I got a very strong case. I backed up all the internet resources linkinng Johnston to the API-Coin project. His name is all over the place. He wrote about it on his medium and bitcointalk, he used his github account for it and he TedX Talked about it. But when the ICO was over, nothing. No more writing, no more talking, nothing.

It's a really clear before and after and never ever any development in API-Coin. The money was in, the dev team was gone and like a few months later Johnston is named Chairman of the board of Factom.

The bigger the Factom Project gets, the bigger the impact this API-coin history will have...

I will admit I had no idea about this API coin but I know that several other projects suffered when bitcoin went on a consistent downtrend in late 2014 and into 2015. Maybe this was the same fate for api coin...

David is just one member of the factom team so I think it would be wrong to call factom a scam because of him, on the other hand I agree that you shouldnt just rest your case.

Take a step back and look at the bigger picture though...it was 2014 in crypto. Everyone got burned on something, the ico's back then were more crowd funding then anything. I am sorry for your loss though
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Profitable these days? on: December 19, 2017, 03:46:12 AM

200%?  You mean 800% don't you?  We all see it ... Those Voltas are going to be bought up by China and you'll have to pay 300USD in fees every month to China just to mine.  It's getting crazy out there.

It would be better to mine coal right now.

Honestly though ... Nothing that NVIDIA will ever put out will be as good as AMD.  NVIDIA is more for the gamer, not the miner.

Well my math works like this, right now eth is $820, so 200% means $820 + $820 + $820 = $2460.

About nvidia, the titan v 12nm is volta and cost $3000 and is available right now and it can mine eth at 82 mhs, which means, expect lower versions to get speeds like 50 to 70 mhs.

I guess nvidia changed something concerning mining, nvidia wants to be competitive x amd about mining, reason why the titan v 12nm is doing 82 mhs.

How different are the voltas going to be from the vegas? Last time I checked the vegas were a bust but maybe some people have modified the drivers to get better results?

To the OP i must agree with the others its better to just buy and hold at the moment, in my opinion its subsequent to change though. It just seems like there is so much money coming into crypto that investing in a rig doesnt make sense.

I would only do it if you are interested in the process and the building of it. But chances are you will make quicker roi by just buying and holding.

I will say that I build a rig with 6 1070s in July, its almost paid off at this point. Good luck
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LUNYR - Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum - Completed! on: December 19, 2017, 01:18:42 AM
I bought 0.1 btc of lunyr at .00064 any chance to go on profit before the end of the year???

A little I think, this coin in heavy downtrend to BTC.
But if you look at the dollar value now, I guess it's still above ICO.
There are coins who are undervalued because people loves to invest when there is a ready platform already, I guess LUNYR
needs time to fully develop the project and therefore the best time to invest is now since the price is still cheap.

Well considering Neo, Qtum, Cardano and several others are getting money pumped into them left and right with no working product I think its safe to say Lunyr has a chance to go way up. It's still astonishing to me the amount of money that is getting put into these erc20 tokens.

If your bagholding maybe think of averaging down OR invest in a somewhat stable masternode/pos coin like vericoin, diamond or hyperstake...atleast with these when your bagholding your avg keeps going down because your making passive income.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: December 19, 2017, 01:14:53 AM
As long as APIcoin scammer Johnson is chairman of anything inside this project Factom will only go down.
What's wrong with Johnson? Why did you call him a scammer? I would like to know more about him.

Just look up the bitcointalk thread in the annoncements of altcoins and read through it. Also see how David Johnston is giving all the answers.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=650221.80

Also check the info below:

https://medium.com/@DJohnstonEC/informational-report-on-api-network-dff2b5289acc

All websites are down:

http://www.buyxap.com/

http://www.apinetwork.co/

These are still up:

https://www.slideshare.net/programmableweb/david-johnston

https://github.com/APINetwork/ProtocolSpec

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69Ch12aQh6s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ivm9OEetBzs

All these websites and speeches were used to LURE investors into this SCAM. I invested 1.5 BTC and nothing was EVER developed. I call that a SCAM and David Johnston was definitely involved heavily in deceiving the investors. The amount of Bitcoin that was collected with this crowdsale is worth 10s of millions at current value. AND THEN HE CALLS HIMSELF AN ANGEL INVESTOR. YEAH WITH MY MONEY......

He never ever gave any comments on this. He was just appointed this chairman position at Factom. UN-BE-LIEV-AB-LE.

Seriously, people who call my accusations false have not read into this. There is no denying this was a scam and there is no denying that Johnston is the only person on the web that is related to this project.

IF he was not involved and only promoting it.... he should have gone to the Police. Cuz he knows that nothing has ever been developed in this project.

Don't call me a investors who is just sad about losing his investment... It is obvious that David collected a couple of thousand of BTC and never ever developed anything in this project. I just presented enough proof!

Ok..ok...i feel your pain and sorry for what you lost. I myself was burned several times back in 2014 when promises were made from developers but never panned out. Checkcoin was one of them, several more too.

I didn't know any of this information, I am curious what was ever said? Did they ever give any kind of explanation? The last post said they got an answer but not a solid one.

Unfortunately I feel like this has happened over and over again in crypto, dev works/promotes a project...it goes south and then they move on.
1096  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betcoin closing poker for good on: December 19, 2017, 01:02:28 AM
Wow this is a shame, it's crazy how many bitcoin poker rooms have come and gone since 2013.

How can nitrogen be the last one standing and last time I checked they had more volume then ever. I must say I do like their challenges for cash games which can get you into freerolls with .....ok prize pools I guess.

You can get into a freeroll with 100 mbtc guaranteed with around 80 people...not bad but still a grind.

I thought betcoin would make it but i guess just because a room focuses on bitcoin doesn't merit volume and player loyalty.
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that will make you RICH in 2018! on: December 19, 2017, 12:56:11 AM
Vericoin (VRC) is my number 1 pick right now.

It is a POS coin with an awesome technology, and a market cap of just $30m. It's flying under the radar even though it's listed on Bittrex.

I second this, I used to be a devoted Vericoin holder. I would also like to mention that they have a binary blockchain vision with Verium. It's POW rather than POS and is asic/gpu resistant, whats so great about it is it can be merge mined with Vericoin so it speeds up vericoins blocks.

Vericoin is like the cash and verium is like the digital asset, also they have a 3rd party developer working on an app called incentify where the in app currency will be vericoin.

Disclaimer- I own no vericoin at the moment but I know that it's a legit project and could do extremely well in 2018.
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that will make you RICH in 2018! on: December 18, 2017, 12:04:37 AM
Wow how did I know Neo would be one of your picks?

I just don't understand why people are so bullish on Neo, besides different coding languages its nothing different than ethereum and it has far less developers and companies built on it. I would buy ethereum and even expanse before I bought Neo. That's just me though

Look past the top 20 coins for a change, and experiment with coins that have different consensus mechanisms.

Factom
Diamond
Basic Attention Token
OMNI
Lbry

Just a handful that are undervalued in my opinion.

I only know BAT browser token from your list. I can also say waves dex project for the best ones in 2018. Waves will make the bag holders millionaired, I believe.

It's really interesting how newer erc20 coin projects are more well known than older ones like omni, factom or diamond. Maybe its just cause im an older enthusiasts and im stuck in my ways  Sad

But I completely agree with your comment on Waves. It's a good example of why I don't understand why Neo is so highly valued, Waves has been around longer and has more established development. Maybe I just haven't researched enough into Neo. But ya Waves is another crypto that could have a huge 2018.....sheez anymore it seems like it doesn't matter what you buy...everyone and their mom is throwing money into crypto  Cheesy

I appreciate your opinion and criticism, I will have a look into those coins and maybe I can make a new video only talking about less "popular" altcoins in the future.

Don't take it personal and it's constructive criticism at worse, everyone is going to shill their own investments in these types of threads. I listed some coins that I am not invested in that list though. Your list is legit though and its good advice to newcomers so I thank you for taking the time to educate people on crypto.

But your channel is somewhat new and I strongly encourage you to think about two things going forward with your channel. Security and Integrity.

Dont dox yourself man, be careful what you show people on the internet because you could potentially be opening yourself up to get hacked. Also for integrity....please dont spam or shill your affiliate link for lending platforms like bitconnect. Just my opinion, good luck.
