1341  Economy / Marketplace / [20 BTC] Logo design [CLOSED] on: April 05, 2011, 12:12:22 PM
Looking for logo designs for:

Squeak Pay (or SqueakPay; Whichever looks better)
squeakpay.com

The logo should incorporate an original cute-looking mouse.

Example 1: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-8787424/stock-vector-cute-mouse-vector-illustration.html
Example 2: http://www.vectoons.com/files/cute-mouse.html

The logo should be either entirely vector-based, or clear at very high resolution (1000 x 1000).

If 20 btc is too cheap for you, please include a higher bid in your reply.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: The mouse should have less detail than the above two examples... it should be more simplified to suit a logo.

Just wondering if anyone else is having an issue with Mt Gox at the moment.

Thanks everyone; Found enough people to work with for now.

I like the term 'hash processing' more than 'transaction Processing' but less than 'mining'.

But mainstream people won't know what a hash is, other than perhaps this: #

I don't participate in things like this, precisely because it bothers me. It feels too much like ripping someone off, or getting ripped off, and not knowing which going into the transaction.

For me it feels like letting people use their own free will to participate in a game, or not participate.

I know my way around HTML and CSS, though artistic ability is usually beyond me. Give me some PHP and MySQL, or a server that needs to perform better, and now you're on my home turf. Smiley

I'll ask you the same basic question... do you know your way around the JSON interface to bitcoin? Smiley
1347  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Another Web Designer/Programmer wanted on: April 04, 2011, 08:13:38 PM
I'd like to find a web designer/programmer immediately with the following skills in order of importance:

- Modern, table-less, css layouts (preferably using STRICT mode).
- Javascript (can use jquery), and possibly some AJAX
- PHP/MySQL experience
- Preferably someone who can be available via Skype (text only)
I have all those skills! Cheesy Of course, I'm not nearly as qualified as the person before me, as I don't have a degree, but just in case he didn't work out for whatever reason. Also, I may be working for Nefario, but I'm waiting on a reply from him to see if I can rejoin a project, so if I were to work for you, Nefario would come first.

Hi Ryland,

There's always room for one more... have you tried your hand at the JSON interface to bitcoin yet? My sites will handle transactions directly with their own local wallet. (Like the one in my sig).

Anyway, let me know how it goes with Nefario.

Thanks

How many blocks are required for confirmation (in the line)? When will the payout be processed?

Just 1 block.

+ plus some time for a cron to run. It's currently set to run every 5 minutes while the site is new.

So what happens if someone uses my reflink? http://sldoubler.com/?id=6

If someone pays for an entry using your referral link, you'll get 0.2 btc as soon as the entry has 1 confirmation.
1350  Economy / Gambling / Re: [1 BTC] Bitcoin Doubler, plus referral program. on: April 04, 2011, 06:49:39 PM
How does this work exactly?

Each person pays 1 btc to go on a list.

Every time 3 entries are received, it causes a 'cycle' which means the next person on the list gets 2 btc sent to them.

For each 3 btc in, it pays out 2.6 btc. So the site keeps 0.13333333 per entry received.

Edit: I should point out that even if it takes you forever to reach the top of the list, you can still get paid 0.2 for all your referrals' entries.
1351  Economy / Gambling / [1 BTC] Bitcoin Doubler, plus referral program. on: April 04, 2011, 06:25:06 PM
My first attempt at a site with direct transaction handling (without using MyBitcoin.com or similar).

A simple doubler for 1 btc, pays out 2 btc to the next person in line:
http://sldoubler.com

Refer people to the site and earn 0.20 btc for every entry they pay for.

Please leave feedback for me as I also did this as an academic excercise.

Thanks

Edit: I just deleted my 2 test entries from the top, so real members that aren't me will start getting paid.
The Active entries counter relies on confirmations, so those of you (THANKS BY THE WAY) that have paid for entries, they are still on 0 conf at the moment.

Bullox, how do you feel about the term 'data mining'.

That is most definitely a major operation, done on computers, and not a childish thing.

You could call the miners 'transaction processors'.

My sarcasm detector is broken so I might be missing the joke but just in case you're serious, I've added my bitcoin address to my signature.  Cool
No sarcasm. Tip sent.
1356  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [5 BTC] convert table to css on: April 04, 2011, 08:00:46 AM
Well, this is all just a prelude to getting much larger amount of work done for a much larger amount of bitcoins...

I'm a long-time (table) hand-coder, trying to learn to do everything point-and-click in Dreamweaver CS5, but want to get my head around table-less code first.

So I'll put out some sort of contract for help with that soon...
1357  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [5 BTC] convert table to css on: April 04, 2011, 02:48:27 AM
One of the things that can be (quite stupidly) complex to do is to make a footer stick at the bottom of the page even when the content on the page doesn't make it extend to the bottom, but it is possible. If you require that then let me know.

Yes this is one of the reasons I've resisted change for so long... most of my sites are vertically liquid too.

Obviously in the versions above, it'll look like 4 rows (grey,white,grey,white) when maximized on a large monitor.

1358  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [5 BTC] convert table to css on: April 03, 2011, 08:11:31 PM
Thanks for your help, but the 900px-wide column is an important part of it, hence the 3x3 table in the original.

The side columns are empty, and the center column (900px) is centered in the browser window.

However, the background color of header and footer extend outside this 900px width to be 100% of the browser window.

The last '5%' completely evades me...
1359  Economy / Marketplace / [5 BTC] convert table to css on: April 03, 2011, 06:08:32 PM
Could someone please show me the best/simplest way to lay this out in divs:

Code:
<BODY>
  <table width="100%" height="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr height="250" bgcolor="#e7e7e7">
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td width="900" align="center">header + menu</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td width="900" align="center">content</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
<tr height="250" bgcolor="#e7e7e7">
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td width="900" align="center">footer stuff</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
  </table>
 </BODY>

Don't forget to include a payment address, thanks!

I believe at this point any serious bitcoin user will not be afraid of new technologies.
I agree. In the past 2 weeks, I have discovered and studied non-stop bitcoin, tor, truecrypt, gpg, linux, json.

My brain would explode if I seriously added something else at this point.

And only people who are not going to do real business will not use OpenID.

Can't comment on that as I don't know enough about it yet.
