21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing the money in gambling, what is your strategy on: April 16, 2024, 01:06:26 PM
Loan money? for real? Nope, this will only make the problem worst, once you borrow money to gamble just to win back your losses, the pressure will be too high that you cannot focus anymore. Just accept the fact that losing is part of it and move on, or forget that losses and start a new bankroll. Not forgetting the past is what makes us to gamble more, and the more we gamble, the higher the risk of getting addicted because we are not having fun anymore, we are just hoping that we will win back our losses which has a slim chance of happening, that's for real based on my experience.
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 16, 2024, 11:55:55 AM
Everyone is really looking at the Lakers and Pelicans match, do that point that the odds are literally 50/50. So there could be sentiments for the Lakers but we can't discount the Zion lead Pelicans wanted to prove something as this is long overdue. First time that we will see Zion being healthy and have a good chance to make it to the playoffs.
Zion was limited on their previous game, so honestly I don't expect something different in this  game although the betting odds is looking like a trap but I think it's still the Lakers that will prevail as the winner here.

On the other hand, the Warriors are the favorite over the Sacramento Kings. So it's going to be a great play-in regardless on who will make it, and who will not eliminated. So let's tonight, most likely a lot of fans are going to tune in to watch.
From +1 to +3 now for the Kings. This could due to a lot of money are going to the Warriors, but good thing the line has moved because I like the Warriors to win as well, -3 should not be a problem against a Monk Less Kings.
23  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more visible in the forum as a beginner on: April 15, 2024, 11:59:18 PM
Totally wrong you have got it all wrong.

Just understand one thing that a person might be an expert in the crypto domain but new to forum as there is no hard and fast rule or certification that only thos who grow up their rank in this forums can be expert because there is much more in crypto world outside this forum hence you cannot limit newbie to a certain section and there is no restriction as it's free for all.
Couldn't agree more. Newbies do not necessarily mean that they can’t be knowledgeable as other forum members, simply because their current position denotes so. Of course, that won’t guarantee that since they are beginners, crypto discussion is also new to them. Note that crypto learning is free outside the forum, and with due diligence, you can already educate yourself with the free materials found in the internet. With this, you can’t put limits to these beginners where they find convenient to post. As long as they don’t break rules and stay on point to their chosen topics, I still think they will build their own identity in the forum soon and will be as valuable like heros and legendary forum members in the future.
24  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not a lifetime job. on: April 15, 2024, 11:24:29 PM
Because they are in an uncertain position, traders will not unilaterally make trading activities a lifelong job. In this position I will side with your thoughts.
Trading requires a lot of focus in many sectors not only the time spent but also the risk of losing money.
The trader's ability must be above average, at least aware of the types of fraud if he chooses the wrong coin to be traded.

If their situation continues with no success, then trading is not a job that will be done forever, even though some traders only use trading as an attempt to earn additional income outside of their main job.
Instead of trading, buy coins on an exchange and store them in a wallet.
While trading can be a great source for huge profits, but we all know that will also require a lot of risks and efforts so that you will come up with successful trades. If you don’t have full focus and attention to your trades, you will end up with undesirable losses, which will eventually make you feel frustrated if it happens consistently. This is the reason why it’s certainly hard and risky to come up with a successful trade, unless if you are not a professional trader, you will never be profitable in this kind of career. And trading as a lifelong job can be very stressful, that’s why only few have managed to be lifelong traders, while others only do it as a side hustle.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling or selling? on: April 15, 2024, 10:56:59 PM
But i'm interested in the actions of those who bought their bitcoins more than 2-3 years ago and sold them now or are still hodling them
How did you find the strength and patience to resist this temptation?
I sold what I needed at a price that suited me at the time. I have actually been quite lucky to always do it between $71-73k. If I don't need the fiat, I don't really concern myself with the rest of my holdings. They will stay as they are. I am strong willed, so I am not going to touch the coins that don't need touching.

Good mindset. One should not be selling if he’s not actually in a bad financial situation, otherwise he will only miss a huge opportunity that might turn all his hodlings into a massive ones. So if he can continuously hold despite of the current price correction, that will certainly paid off in time.

I get it. It’s not actually easy to see your investments failing at this moment due to the current correction. But know that you won’t actually lose if you won’t decide to sell. So hold still, and sell only when you find a convenient price to sell which is certainly when halving comes.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments and their irrelevant projects just to steal public funds on: April 14, 2024, 11:53:04 PM
Do we assume it is still one of the money laundering strategies that the government intentionally creates loopholes in other to steal the public funds? Because even after the implementations and execution of Such projects, the same governments clamours that the nation has run out of funds after giving accounts of those irrelevant executed projects.
It's a major problem for the developing countries that their corrupt government officials are going to do some projects to solve problems that their city and citizens dealing with through infrastructures but little did the people know, they've got some kickbacks. And what they do is that they're connected with the contractors and builders of those infrastructures and they have commission with that. That's how the corrupt goes to make it look like they're real public servant. While in the develop countries, there could still some ways for them to take advantage of their fundings that gives some idea on how to bypass their law and system if they see some loopholes.
What you said is a fact. It’s rare to see government officials who are giving public service genuinely without hidden personal desires. Majority are still focused not on the outcome of the projects, but on the amount of commission they will gained after building the projects. Sadly, some people are still blind about this, or they really are aware but they can’t do nothing to stop this corrupt officials from stealing the public funds. Except for those few who really are true to their services.
27  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: April 14, 2024, 10:56:11 PM
Trading is just there; it's up to us if we recognize it positively or negatively. That means, since "Trading" cannot speak, anyone can try it or enter it to do trading activity. You have an interest in learning about trading; of course, you will study it and learn it 100%.

And if you just take a look at trading and realize that you don't really have an interest in learning this lesson but you want to earn from it, it turns out that you are just gambling, thinking that you might get lucky, which is the wrong way.
Trading offers opportunities to everyone who sees it as a profitable side hustle. But that does not mean that every traders gets the same profitable outcome from trading. Of course, not all traders are knowledgeable and skillful on trading in the market, some are just trading and end up like gambling, so expect that they will definitely won’t be able to achieve their goals in trading. However, for those who have been in great preparation before going into a real trade, mostly they end up trading with positive and profitable results.
28  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are your expectations for Casino coins in this coming bull run? on: April 12, 2024, 10:04:37 PM
Investing in casinos coins pauses the same risk as investing in other altcoins, all of them have no chance at least not a sure chance to perform realistically well in the coming bull market, but we all need to just gamble on any of them and hope the pick up with the market when the time finally arrived.

I think investing in casino coins is more attractive especially if the casino is already active.  it only gives us better hope in the future as the business is already operational, and see that these casinos already are very popular, then there's a big possibility that the price will rise in the future. Of course there's a risk but we have the finish product already unlike other investments which we only see the roadmap and its team and yet we trust thme easily because of the hype sometimes.

I remember those ICOs befere, there are plenty of casino platform offering their coins but I haven't even see a few that succeeded now. Probably they change name or I wasn't able to follow the project completely, but in case some succeeded but only a few percentage of them, which makes investing in casino coins not a good option among the many types.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 12, 2024, 09:37:40 PM
As bookies are clearly having Inoue as the heavy favourite, if you do want to bet, find another betting line like what round will it end and how rather than bet on Inoue with 1.07 odds. Even the betting line of will the fight go the distance is just 1.14 at stake and so with others, so bookies are not expecting this fight to last.
There's a very slim chance that a boxer which Inoue would fight will last in the ring. Last time I saw Inoue had some trouble but was able to make an adjustment was with Donaire, but the rematch was too easy for him as Donaire got knocked out. Inoue just got better and better in every fight, so I think if Nery will remain aggressive, he would also suffer a devastating KO from Inoue, that body shot though.

Any odds below 1.50 is not attractive to me, so  I would just wait until the fight is very close so all the markets will be available, maybe Inoue winning by KO in just 1-3 rounds, it's sure gonna have a very attractive odds.
30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: April 12, 2024, 01:26:17 PM
Boston started the game with their original starters but was still defeated by the Knicks. Yeah, the -2.5 is manageable for the Knicks since they are desperate to secure a position in the Playoffs for a better opponent for them to advance to the second round.
Boston should have rested their playes since they still loss.
I think the biggest lead was as high as 30+ points but ended up a 9 point victory only by the Knicks.
I don't understand, it seemd like Celtics just started playing in the 4th when the time is already running out.

I guess they'll rest now since next game will be vs the Charlotte. they can just play their bench players.

I feel a bit regretful for not choosing a negative handicap pick but still, a win is a win even though the profit is a little bit lower. I was a bit afraid at the start of the game when the Boston starter announced, but everything worked well in favour of Knick when the game progressed.
That's what you called satisfaction, it's still positive as you see it a win, even though the odds are lower. Just continue as there are a lot of games to bet on, next time you'll get a better odds.

Anyone liking the Bucks tomorrow moneyline vs the OKC? They are +14.5, but upset is possible.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 12, 2024, 12:53:53 PM
2 games will be happening today.
Converge vs Phoenix and Ginebra vs Bossing

The first game look so easy that we can make easy money here. Converge is now domoralize, they are not winning game so it will continue.

As per the bookie market, Phoenix is only -6.5 which should be a steal since Converge have lost double digits againts strong team like ROS and Magnolia. Also, I'm betting on the TT with under 94.5 for Converge.

With a demoralize squad I also think that those who take this handicap for Phoenix will have a good edge winning their pick, though we really can't tell if how they will take the win, but from those current outcomes against stronger teams Converge is not playing with a competitive stats, they are just playing for the said schedule but winning mentalities is no longer present as they don't have any chance to move forward for the next round.

It's just how Phoenix will win this game hopefully they will secure it with a double digit lead for the sake of those who bet for them, though it's PBA and gambling is always have a big factors on how it's going to end, just saying!

Not the way I expected, Phoenix able to have a good lead but in the end, they only won by 6 points, I still loss my bet. On the TT, it was a clear over for converge as they scored a total of 107 points, way too much on the line offered by our sportsbook. It's really unpredictable, when a team that we choose win the game but there's a spread that didn't cover.

On the 2nd game, I was also able  to put a bet but on the bigger odds like x4 predicting Ginebra to win by 1-5 points, but looking at the score now, that seemed not happening anymore as Ginebra is already having a very comfortable lead.

Looks like the Minnesota Timberwolves will be getting Karl Anthony Towns back in time for the playoffs. With how well they’ve been playing I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not, but KAT is an elite talent so I’m sure he’ll help out. I just hope Anthony Edwards continues to get the ball as much. He’s playing great.

Honestly, I thought the Wolves might go down in the standings a lot after KAT got injured. To my surprise, that didn't happen, and they are still at the top of the standings. If KAT is indeed fully healthy by the start of the playoffs, then I would expect the Wolves to make a deep run in the playoffs. They have a good chance to make it to the WCF.

Possible but they'll have a very though journey in the first round.

The wolves might have to take on the Phoenix Suns which is full of stars, Durant, Booker, these two are very experience in the playoffs, they have a good run before even when Durant was still new to the team, they just fall to the Nuggets which is bad, but they were not swept unlike the Lakers.

With the wolves, ANT will be tested, and honestly, I don't see him a tough guy in the playoffs as I've seen some games where he made mistakes in clutch times, so how much more in the playoffs where the pressure is high.
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 11, 2024, 11:48:17 AM
To be honest, after seeing what Netflix does and what their narrative is, I would be more surprised if it was streamed on ESPN or any sports channel. There is a partnership between Netflix and Paul's MVP (Most Valuable Promotions). Netflix is sticking to ‘sports-adjacent’ streaming and that's why it is on Netflix, a very good deal for both parties.

By the way, it's kinda funny how Jake Paul turned from a Disney kid to Youtuber and then into a boxer. He is a very smart businessman, a very impressive for his age, he deserves merit for that.

We can say that a boy has grown up into a man. I dont know people hate him so much. He has stopped recording silly movies and content that degrade younger generation, and started promoting sport. For me this is much better (even though he is popularizing violence) than uploading stupidity like 24h challenges or wasting money on silly stuff. I might not support his strategy of building fame based on other people fame, but that is how promotion work today.
People hate him because he is fake, he fights retired boxers and makes himself cool by beating once amazing (now retired) 50 years old boxers. After all of these, he calls himself a professional boxer and in his record he writes down the defeat of legendary names. So, many people think that he is just a cheater, a liar who makes millions of dollars and I personally agree with that because that's true but I always admit that he is a very smart businessman, he is goddamn super in marketing and we can't take that from him but calling himself a boxer is a shame, he never fights professionals.

Show me a champion who fought big names in the start of his career Cheesy Or any professional fighter, who fought one amazing boxers. Do you think Tyson first fight was against current champion or former champion? Or do you think that Canelo first opponent top fighters?

You people have some kind of strange vision on a situation. When he fights Tyson this year, you claim that Jake would lose because A) Tyson is experienced B) he is a strong puncher. But if Jake wins, you start to claim that he beats only retired and old fighters. How convenient Cheesy

With so much attention to his persona, everyone forced him to fight only big names. Active fighters wont fight him because of contracts. A fight against no-name you dont accept. When he fights against formed boxers, you say that he is fighting old guy. No matter who he fight against, you are still unhappy Cheesy

We should just appreciate what Jake Paul had achieve so far. For a non natural boxer to reach at this level, man he is impressive. Now he is fighting a legend and he is not afraid against a KO artist although an old one. if we are not interested, we just disregard it, but if we like to see it, this is our opportunity to see Mike fight a young and active boxer.

At the end of the day, there are rules to follow, we cheer the boxer that we like, so there's no cheating here, it's just a game for them, we watch, thy make money, that's it.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 11, 2024, 03:40:02 AM
Going on with PBA anniversary and giving tickets, it doesn't seem to work and every Filipino fans are already aware of what's going to happen when we see the big three teams that are part of the playoffs or semis. If you guys will rotate with PBA posts and topics posted on social media, you'd see people are just giving them a 'haha' reaction because it doesn't make sense anymore for them to retrieve the trust of the fans watching the live games. Yes, there are now telecasts through livestreams but still, look at the other sports that have been loved by the fans. Despite that, watching live games are still giving a different experience but not anymore with PBA. Most of the comments that I've seen were that they want Kume to be replaced by another one to give PBA another taste to the fans and make it alive more if he's been replaced.

Why would people still watch if they know what team will win. It's too late for them, their action on giving tickets is good but it will not work anymore. Just imagine, you have to go through the long traffic just to get to the arena, although that's free but it's not fun to watch anymore. Me, I would just watch my TV since I'm subscribe to Pilipinas Live, so I can also watch anywhere online.

If they will not stop that farm team and monopoly inside, they will never improve.

I think they should be thinking of revamping the PBA by adding more teams, for sure the excitement will grow and people will start putting their interest back.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 11, 2024, 03:13:25 AM
Suns trying to bounce back from a disappointing loss on their home court. Now they are on the road for  rematch with the LA Clippers and currently leading by 10 points. It's a good start for them, they can't allow the Clippers to charge back as they might have some problem in the 4th where the Clippers are usually good.

Booker thus far is leading the charge but they are playing a Clipper team without its starter, so this is just probably a gift for them.
37  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why technical analysis is not reliable on: April 10, 2024, 11:43:38 PM
Technical analysis is not 100% accurate I mean there is no analysis that always hit 100% win rate without a single loss or else maybe people are using the technique all the time.

To be honest, TA is reliable when much of people know the technique ex. EMA 100 and 200 is well know moving average to determine long term trend and the price usually reject at that level for 70% all the time I believe because a lot of people believe in it. or simple TA like basic supply and demand zone or support and resistance zone is has 80% accurate in my opinion
Technical analysis works if you also know how to deal with it effectively. It’s not that you will only resort into trading using technical analysis and you’re eventually making successful trades. It does not work like that. One should also learn how to read the chart and market pattens, should know how the price moves historically, and should be more inclined on making market analysis, that way you can highly utilize technical analysis and make it work effectively.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should be looking only at the brighter side on: April 10, 2024, 10:38:47 PM
Being a Bitcoin investor or a holder comes without it's own ups and downs that makes us want to sell off all of it without looking back, but know one thing,  their is actually a light, at the end of the tunnel, we should not be looking at the higher transaction fees, the network congestion, the complications and effort needed to hold perfectly without you selling due to financial pressure, the negativity and speculation around it by hater, the stress and measures put in place to secure it well from scammers,  but as a true Bitcoineers, we should only be look at the brighter and the bigger picture of how much you stand to gain, if you keeps on holding, look only at the brighter side of it, because that's what going to motivate you when you feel tired, cheer to all Bitcoineer🍷🥂🥂

I wouldn't blame those selling due to financial pressure. I think comparing that with other reasons for selling like negativity towards Bitcoin coming from others or your disbelief if its future is wrong. Being very optimistic about Bitcoin's future I myself was selling it many times in the past at pretty low price exactly because of the financial pressure at the moment.
Well, those were inevitable. Hodling is probably the key to a huge success, but if present financial pressures are hitting us, I think selling regardless of the price is still viable. I have been into that situation and most likely, it’s actually harder not to sell. However, as much as possible, we should try to avoid situations like this and invest only on our spare money and leave some for our emergency funds so that we can hold peacefully our coins without being bothered to sell them at a lower price.

Final result of the poll
64.8% says they don't gamble at work, and 26.8% says they gamble at work, that was coming from 71 users who voted.

Thank you for your answers guys, we have reached 56 pages so I guess all the opinions regarding the topic are already posted here.

With that said, I'm locking this thread to prevent spam posts.  Thank you once again.

Lakers vs Warriors, which team will be eliminated first?

Both teams performed about the same during the regular season, and it's not so clear at this moment which of these two teams will be eliminated first. In addition, there are still 2-3 games left until the end of the regular season. So there's a small chance that the Lakers and Warriors might not face each other in the play-in tournament.

That's possible as the Warriors have 3 remaining games, their ranking will go up, so they might be placed at the top 8 which means they won't be playing in a do or die game anymore. I'm sure they will do that as I think they could win the next 3 games.

Warriors next 3 games are

Trailblazers - road game
Jazz and pelicans, both home games.

Sure thing they can win all them, the toughest opponent on the list is only the Pelicans, but since the Warriors are at home, they have the advantage over that team. Jazz and TrailBlzers, this team are in a losing streak and probably have pulled out their star players already, so it should be easy for them. I guess the Warriors are just making sure now that they'll be in the top 7, so if they would succeed, they just need to play one game and maybe will face the Denver or Minnesota. It doesn't matter to them, I think the Warriors still have a chance beating those two teams but it would be better if they'll face the Wolves first.
