1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 16, 2023, 01:15:32 PM

Despite being a huge underdog, it's worth taking a risk on the Heat because we know they won't give up easily. They reached the NBA Finals in the bubble, and Butler has been delivering the best playoff performance of his career this offseason. I'm confident he won't be stopped by the Celtics. The Heat are playing with great discipline, and everyone is contributing to their defensive efforts.

So, why not? Let's go Heat!

Although many think about that Celtics can able to defeat Miami on this series but for sure this will not be so easy for them. miami is well build team now and Butler and Adebayo is on their best form. Maybe the most consistent team on defensive ends will have a chance to win this match up. And the main assignment of Miami is to limit the scoring of Celtics shooters. For sure Heat fans are cuorious to see how their campaign goes since they are the underdog on teams left battling for championship.

The Heat have already lost 2 players due to injury, yet they are still playing very well. Thanks to Butler for maintaining his health and having a remarkable postseason performance so far. The acquisition of Kevin Love has proven to be a fantastic decision for the team, as he not only provides solid screens but also spreads the floor with his exceptional 3-point shooting.

Furthermore, Lowry has been displaying his toughness on the court. As a veteran player and a champion, he is undoubtedly a valuable asset to the team.

So I'm hoping that no more injury would happen to the Heat.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: May 16, 2023, 12:05:27 PM
Regarding the fact that Moloney is somehow scared towards the current Donaire, there is a good chance that he will avoid that fight at first until he can make Donaire retire. For now, Donaire should focus on his fight and making things happen because until now, there are no solid news surfacing that their championship fight is happening soon enough.

A unification fight between Donaire and Moloney is far from happening as of now because Donaire has to become a champion first but if that happens in the future, i dont think Top Rank will easily agree to a fight with the WBC champion Donaire until the latter retires, i think that is the time when they will venture for a unification fight hehe.

As for Astrolabio, it's just unfortunate for him that he didn't knock out Moloney because that's the only way for him to win the fight as the fight was held in Australia where a decision win is not easily given to the Aussie's opponent.

It's a tough loss, but it is what it is. Nowadays, boxing seems to be more about politics, with promoters aiming to maximize profits from their cash cow and protect their investments. Unfortunately, this kind of strategy is diminishing the excitement in boxing, as it should be about the best fighting the best. However, in the case of Moloney, it appears he is hesitant to face an older Donaire.
1003  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can copy trading be profitable on: May 15, 2023, 09:45:07 PM
$20 of $2000 is 1 percent and you want to make it per day i.e. 30% per month which will be $600 out of $2000 in a month.
It's not impossible however the chances are less than 5% to make 30% per month or 1% per day with copy trading.

Good luck though if you find someone to get you make it happen.

Do you think we can succeed just by parasitizing others? If making money had become so easy, we wouldn't all have to work so hard just to make a few dollars a day. It sounds easy, but to be honest, I have not seen a trader regularly make more than 30% profit every month without loss.
If you want to make money from trading, it's best to learn everything yourself and be responsible for your own money. There is no guarantee that you will win when trading on your own, but at least you will gain experience and knowledge. Better to lose money by copying someone else's and learning nothing for yourself.
Trading may be a profitable source of income but know that it’s not a sustainable one. One day you may win and take profits, but the next day you will lose and used up your capital. And never expect for fixed amount of income as trading won’t do that for you. But you can always learn to avoid and reduce your losses by honing your skills and strategies in trading, and not by simply copying trading strategies from other skilled traders.
1004  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's nice to be back here. on: May 13, 2023, 07:27:38 PM
I stopped my crypto journey way back last year because of so many losses and got busy with my school works,  it was last year in February when I lost a huge amount of my money investing in altcoin and got rugged, I was depressed that time and sad because I lost a huge amount of money which makes me stop my crypto journey and just focus on my study.

Two weeks ago I saw my friend on Facebook posting such luxury and cars he already has and I know that person is into cryptocurrency so I know that he got all those things because of cryptocurrency that inspires me now to continue my crypto journey and I will start it with this forum as I know I can have a lot of lessons and advice here.

I just realized how risky cryptocurrency is, especially for those people who have not yet have good knowledge about it, I've learned from my mistakes last year and j am now here exploring again and will be careful this time.
It’s good that you have realized now the value of cryptocurrency and investing on it could be the best way for now to accumulate and store a lot of crypto while prices have not reached their peaks yet. So welcome back and hopefully this time, your investment will already work while learning from those mistakes and losses you have endured in the past. Crypto is always a risky investment, but you know you are always capable to lessen the risk if you start investing from your knowledge and skills developed within yourself.
1005  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Investment: Good Debts vs Bad Debts on: May 13, 2023, 07:09:50 PM
Borrowing money for bitcoin investment is of course a good thing,
You'll have to pay the interest of that borrowed money. What if you've loaned money to buy bitcoin just after the bull run and the bear market came? This is the worry that many are thinking about because a lot of people did that before and they did it on the wrong time.
Not saying that someone can just do it on the right time because you'll never know the circumstances that you'll be facing on the right time and if you'll be able to borrow money. We all believe that the price of bitcoin will rise for the next couple of years but still, you'll be taking a debt and you're obliged to pay for it while we're not yet profiting from the purchased bitcoin and you'll have to pay it with the fees and interests.
I don’t think borrowing money is the right option when one decide to invest without money on hand. Particularly for a risky investment like bitcoin, you cannot expect it to pay your loan’s interest and fees every month because you don’t hold guarantees as to when will you become profitable from bitcoin investment. In the end, you will only end up having another debt to pay your first loan. Though bitcoin is a wise investment, but I cannot advise anyone to invest in it from a borrowed money or funds.
1006  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lets Brain storm on how to limit losses... on: May 13, 2023, 06:40:38 PM
What led to your major loss in the market as for me it was staying too long on a trade i was making good profit before it turned all red and while waiting for the market to finish the correction moves i ended up losing everything.  How about you?
This is why I've had so many setbacks. And, in my opinion, this is also the reason why most traders' funds are depleted. Instead of taking a break from trading due to persistent losses, we began trading continually even though we no longer followed the plan and were ruled by emotion. Your reasoning is that you want to recoup your losses, so you trade more frequently and raise your position size; this only demonstrates that you are not adhering to your risk management strategy. As a result, it causes significant losses and causes your capital to vanish swiftly.

Traders usually turn into being greedy and emotional when they start to lose consistently and find things are not happening based on their expectations. That’s why instead of taking a break from trading to control their funds from losing, they continue to trade hoping that they will get some luck and recover their losses quickly. But that is not the real scenario in trading, the more you trade with greed and emotions, the more uncontrolled losses you will experience. However, if you only know on how to make stop loss and exit from your trades earlier, then you won’t have to suffer losing your capital completely.
1007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 13, 2023, 06:18:50 PM
Bitcoin reaching $100k soon is a speculation and don't forget bout that OP. Even if we're all believing that it shall come, from the point of view of someone who's new to the market, you shouldn't expect too much. We've done that in the past and it did break our expectations because it wasn't met. But for me, that's okay because I know that Bitcoin will certainly do better in the near future, and from time to time, we shall see how it's going to break its past ATHs. You being a student and optimistic and invested in bitcoin, keep it up. You'll never know how far investing in bitcoin will bring you even with those little amounts that you've. And as you've said that Bitcoin is illegal there, I hope that you'll do fine.
Investing needs you to believe on what you are investing, and good thing OP is very optimistic about the future of bitcoin. However, he should never fall easily believing on such speculations because that may force him to invest on the amount he cannot afford to lose, but I think $100k price for bitcoin is not an overstatement because that will eventually come years from now, we just don’t know the exact month and year. At least, OP is aware that bitcoin investment does not only bring profits but losses as well. That way, he would always invest with caution most especially that bitcoin is still illegal in their place.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: May 13, 2023, 11:18:17 AM

No update yet. Fans still stuck to every speculation about how this fight may take place, preparations and conditioning might be ongoing, but the
finalization of the date when the fight will take place, there's still nothing that we can find all around the internet.

Fans will be disappointed if we don't see a fight involving Donaire this year. Several fighters have already secured championship fights, and I don't want to see Donaire left behind, as he still has the potential to win a championship and possibly become an undisputed champion. According to reports, the fight has already been approved, so now we are simply waiting for information regarding the date and venue. We just need to be patient. If it doesn't happen in the first half of the year, we will likely see it in the second half.
1009  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 12, 2023, 09:58:38 PM
There is no normal being that loves getting losses on business, career, investment and trades that's why even company holders make financial policies to keep record of investment and profits flows. And unlike other business bitcoin also makes sales and losses if you do not investment wisely....is nice when you put in what can not put you sickbed or gives you hypertension, don't invest out of what you cannot withstand the loss.

Is better to use small money or learn risk management first before investing especially newbies.
Investing on an amount you can afford to lose is one way on managing the risk when taking investments. Because the fact that there is no assurance if you will make profits out from your investment, then it’s a wise move to just invest using your spare money, so that if your investment fails and lose your capital, you will not struggle with how you’ll manage your remaining finances and you will easily recover the funds that you have lost. That way, you will be motivated to be more knowledgeable and gain experience first before you start putting good amount to invest.
1010  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you Spending Money the Wrong Way in Pursuit of Happiness? on: May 12, 2023, 09:43:40 PM
Money should make you happy but if it doesn't then you are probably spending it the wrong way. See the eight suggested principles to help anyone to be able to get happiness from their money.
In a normal circumstances money will bring happiness and joy in a life of man, so I believe that money will make you happy when you are having money subsequently in your source of making money, if you don't have money you might be annoyed at any point in time, so therefore i want to tell you that their is different between spending money wrongly and the point you are making emphasis on, spending money wrongly is when you are not utilizing your money by channelling your money at the appropriate time.
Money is now very essential for someone’s life happiness, without money your life may not be as happy compared to those who are living with financial stability. However, it does not mean that once you’re unhappy, you fail to utilize your money well. There are some instances that money can’t buy happiness, even respect is not earn through money but it all started with self-respect and respect to other people before you can expect to be respected too.
1011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend's investment in Bitcoin on: May 12, 2023, 09:28:20 PM
Did I give my friend the right advice?
When in the context of discussions and talking about it and deciding to be in bitcoin then indeed I think it's pretty good, but in this case I would prefer to emphasize that things like this are not as easy as they seem. Telling bitcoin is indeed a pretty good step towards greater adoption of course, but on the other hand we also have to emphasize that even if it's good but nothing is certain in this case and your friend should research more about it.
Even if nothing is in vain in the end when talking about bitcoin, but your friend is a beginner, it would be better to find information and learn more than to invest directly here because of course we know that the risk is also quite large.
You have done your part OP, now it’s time for your friend to do his own due diligence in researching. He must have gained more knowledge first and read reviews about bitcoin before he decided to invest. Also, the amount he put in the first place is quite big, I don’t think he can afford it losing when his investment does not work out like he expect it to be. But maybe let’s just admit it that newbies only learned after losing, and probably once he lose, he will now be cautious on his investment and creates a solid plan.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 12, 2023, 04:29:15 AM
I feel like they’re poor sports when things don’t go their way.

Because the Suns are not built to be a strong team in terms of discipline, they heavily rely on star players who are prone to complaining, particularly Booker. This is evident in their game now against the Nuggets, where the well-coordinated Nuggets team outperformed them by a significant margin. Currently, both Durant and Booker have been taken out of the game, leaving no chance for their return.

If the Suns had someone on their team who could effectively distract Joker, there might be a chance for them to win. When Joker is distracted, the performance of the Nuggets team tends to suffer.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I be profitable in the NBA PLAYOFFS? ===>check inside on: May 12, 2023, 03:56:41 AM

Nuggets +2.5 at 1.95. Both bets are $50 each.
Good luck on this bet and I think you're going to win this bet as there will be no CP3 for the Suns for tomorrow's match. This could be it for the Nuggets and could be the last game for Suns if ever they lose.

This bet seems to be the easiest for OP tonight. They could have gone 2-2 if the 76ers didn't collapse in the 4th quarter. Currently, the Suns are in control with a 25-point lead. While the Suns may not necessarily let up, it's safe to say they won't be mounting a comeback in this game.

Congratulations in advance to the Nuggets on reaching the Western Conference Finals!
1014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: May 11, 2023, 09:52:57 PM
As a young person, I am overwhelmed by my curiosity in trading Bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to resign my white collar work and return to trading exclusively Bitcoin.

This was a conversation a buddy of mine and I had yesterday, and I felt compelled to bring it to this illustrious platform for the best types of advice and counsel.

Is it safe for a Bitcoin trader to quit their jobs and focus solely on Bitcoin trading if they can devote their time and attention to maximize the benefits in the Bitcoin world?
I would never say it’s safe unless you have any other stable source of income that will generate money for you when trading itself starts not working out on you. Though it’s undeniable that lots of traders have been very successful and have finally reached to where they are right now, but know that everything they pass through have been very hard and risky. You don’t know how much they have lose first before you see them succeed. And note that not everyone is capable to trade and destined to end up trading successfully, others may be good at their performance at first but still end up quitting. That’s how hard and risky trading is. So if you think you can still manage those risks and pressures, then go and take the risk in trading but keep your job first until you see yourself earning well from trading.
1015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can a beginner in the forum significantly grow? on: May 11, 2023, 09:23:48 PM
There's already the descriptions for each of the boards/sections that you want to visit and so, please read that before engaging to any thread.

And join those discussions and topics naturally, you don't have to be a rocket scientist for you to engage with the topics that you're interested with. It's okay to ask but please don't ask dumb questions that adds zero value to the thread.

Ask meaningful and helpful questions that you truly are interested to know the answers if ever you want to know more about the topic you're interested with.
You will never grow in the forum unless you will not do your own due diligence reading and understanding every topic that is raised in the forum. It’s not actually important that you should understand them all but at least you will gained some significant ideas that you can apply to yourself especially for a beginner who have no experience at all. And by actively participating in the forum, you will be more motivated not just to learn but to seek more information too so you can also give quality answers to those new members that are still starting to explore the forum.
1016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: May 11, 2023, 08:56:47 PM
It's the kind of attack and just like being kidnapped, there's the $5 wrench attack. It's important for each of us to know whom we're telling that we've got crypto investments.

You tell it to the wrong person and you might be personally attacked by that person or people that you're generous of telling your experience and assets on it.

Being talkative should be done in a right setting and sometimes all you just need to do is to keep quiet.
There’s no need actually to tell your friends or other people what you have gained in your life. Your achievements may only trigger the jealousy side of other people that will lead them to think of harming you so they can steal what you have. That is why it’s best to be anonymous when you are in the crypto industry. People will come to perceive that once you have crypto, you have millions of money with you.
1017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 11, 2023, 04:46:23 AM
Personally, I want the Warriors to win, so we can still witness more games in this series.
You got it! The Warriors won the game, and the series will have a Game 6 back in LA. Davis leaving in the 4th quarter was a major disadvantage for the LA Lakers, as they lost a good rebounder and shot blocker in the paint. As a result of what happened, the Lakers weren't able to come back, resulting in a big win for the Warriors.

Curry is still the major contributor, but this time, Wiggins and Green played well to ease the burden Curry had to carry this series.

Tomorrow we have some games:

Boston @ Philly
Denver @ Phoenix

The fun continues!
1018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 11, 2023, 04:23:46 AM
Oh, that's too bad, I haven't bet on this game though, but if I'm not mistaken, the Warriors open up like -6.5 favorite?
I agree, and there are plenty of Lakers bets tonight because they have won the last two games. However, this game seems to be controlled by the Warriors, and unfortunately, there is some bad news for the Lakers: Davis is out with an injury. We will have to wait for further developments; if the Warriors win this game, it might affect Game 6.
If that is the case, chances are high that they might cover it. Let's just wait for the remainder of the ball game. Fans of the Warriors at Chase are going crazy, at least they won't be eliminated at their homecourt.

Yes, the score is high because they are still leading by double digits now.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: May 11, 2023, 03:28:30 AM

It's really depends on how his body will respond to moving up in weight, I think in 126 lbs it will be a big challenge for him so not sure if he can go as high as 130-135 lbs and I don't think he can reach what Manny did before.
Let's take it one step at a time. In my opinion, the featherweight division is the maximum weight class where he can still carry his power and speed effectively. However, he is still far from the current division's top fighters. He needs to defeat the champion and overcome other challenges before fighting in a unification and undisputed bout.
Although again he is with Top Rank, and they have the experience how to hype and bring someone to be the next Pacman from Asia. So let's see if he can dominate Fulton in his new weight class and take his belt away.
As I said earlier, let's take it one step at a time. Winning against Fulton should be his primary goal, and if he does so impressively, there's no doubt that he can continue to move up to higher weight classes.
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: May 10, 2023, 01:19:35 PM
It's never effective in reducing the number of gamblers. Once there's a game, and bookies are offering betting odds, people will still want to bet. We cannot eliminate gambling from the equation as it makes watching the game more entertaining. Moreover, gambling isn't necessarily destroying lives, as long as we understand how to gamble responsibly.

If they don't want to increase the number of gamblers, then they should ban gambling in their country.
