201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: February 09, 2024, 09:56:21 PM
I don’t tell other people that I’m actually into bitcoin or any crypto investment and I don’t feel that I am responsible to bring other people into the forum. I don’t mean to sound greedy but I just want to avoid future complications when they start trusting the forum and invest in bitcoin and then suddenly lose from it, so most probably I will be held responsible for that if ever.

I am a private person and just want to deal things on my own, but I have big plans in the future, that’s when I’ll make massive profits in bitcoin, and help those unfortunate people around.
202  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education and why it should be a priority. on: February 09, 2024, 09:21:53 PM
Financial education helps people to live better life with what is available. Most of the people doesn't have the understanding about financial management and they just earn spend and then borrow to fulfill their needs. At some point they don't have anything left to meet unexpected needs. This is all because of improper management. If a person had financial education, automatically he will focus on keeping aside a big part for savings and investment and with the left behind he/she will manage the day or month's need.
Getting good financial education is making you more exposed to better financial decisions. That alone will play a big part in managing your finances well and being able to assess those funds that only come and go. While saving and investing are crucial, saving alone for emergency funds should always be prioritized. That way, your investment will most likely to succeed because you are not pushing yourself to gain quick profits since your left funds are still capable to cater for your daily needs and expenses.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: February 09, 2024, 11:37:52 AM
Lopez needs to fight a good fighter in his next fight, not someone who just employs a hit-and-run tactic and Ryan could give him that, or SubrieL Matias who is a pressure fighter, that's the fight worth watching.

I like Ryan for him, he is still the champion so Ryan will have to challenge him. he deserve a big fight and with Ryan, it will be a sure blockbuster fight, so hopefully it will happen this year, probably in the 2nd half of the year.

That's to ensure that the fight will not be boring. Ryan has a height advantage on Lopez IMO but they are a good match. This fight, based on the bookmakers, Lopez was the heavy favorite, but maybe if Ryan and him will face each other, it will be a close match making only Lopez a slight favorite.

I can't want to see it, I hope peope will ask for it and the two will agree so they can finalize it as soon as possible.
This is a rumor, that means people wants to see the fight to happen. Enough for Lopez fighting a non caliber boxer, he should go for a good caliber boxer like Ryan Garcia and has an appeal to the public, as that's the recipe for a successful fight. Entertain the crowd and they'll make good money, I think Lopez wouldn't let this opportunity pass if it will come on his door.

Jamaine Ortiz just could not hurt Lopez, well, we can't blame him though, his KO rate is very low, that's why.
How could he hurt a boxer if doesn't throw solid punches? I get this strategy, he just want to hit and run (score), but he isn't as quick as the well known hit and run boxer like Mayweather and Haney, so his strategy was not effective and the decision was fair.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 09, 2024, 10:06:14 AM
Portland Trail Blazers - Detroit Pistons - Portland Trail Blazers (-3.5) - Detroit won against the Kings but I think it will end there.

This was suppose to be a winner.. I don't understand why they didn't play good defense and allowed the Pistons to come back and brought the game into OT. Worst is, they lose in the OT and everything was wasted to nothing. Teams that unreliable, you are just gambling 50/50 and no lead is safe for them.

Anyway, congrats on the Nuggets pick, it could have been LA winning the game if they weren't careless. Can't really underestimate Jokic and company as they can always find a way to win.
205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we understand market going to be Bear? on: February 08, 2024, 10:59:27 PM
You can consider this as unpredictable because everyone can tell you the probability in bull market but it is impossible to tell you any fixed day. T
The price is only unpredictable but seeing the price chart we can make an assumption for what will possibly happen. Doing this will help us prepare whether to buy or sell. I don't think it was hard to understand the situation and can't tell the market sentiment. That is so-called market analysis and I use price charts to analyze the current situation, it is kinda easy if we are seriously doing this. Besides, we don't need to be perfect about it at least we are aware of the situation and know what actions to be taken.
If you are good at market analysis, you will gain an idea whether the market will go bullish or bearish. That way, you can make a trading plan in advance by analyzing the price chart and the movement of the coins in the market. However, whether it’s going bullish or bearish, I think that does not matter at all as long as you know how to trade regardless of the market condition and still end up profitable on your trades.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Concern Regarding the Future of Bitcoin and Crypto Industries ! on: February 08, 2024, 09:57:54 PM
Bitcoin will always be decentralized so any centralized property won’t be a good answer to bitcoin’s future and the crypto space. In fact, the hidden objective of any centralized government is to hold and control bitcoin and monitor all its transactions all over the world. That will always remain a fact as long as the government continues to back up fiat and destroy all its competitors that would go against paper currency. Remember that any centralized government won’t allow a decentralized currency to prosper and rule the whole financial industry.

207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 08, 2024, 10:29:01 AM
No one is talking about how well the Pistons played against the Sacramento Kings tonight. Detroit Pistons better when Cade Cunningham isn't playing. Check how many times Cade Cunningham has not played this season and how many times the Pistons have won without him playing.
Also Jaden Ivey had an amazing game scoring a career high of 37 points with 19 of those in the fourth quarter. The Kings didn't play good defense and missed many chances.
King aren't really good in playing defense, that's their weakness, but they are good offensively. However, that game, not only they are outrebounded but their 3 point shooting is very low as well. It's impressive that the Pistons have 100% from FT - they were 22-22, compared to the Sacramento Kings who are only 15-22. Fox really struggled big time in this game, 5-14 and only made 12 points.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 08, 2024, 09:26:29 AM
Alright, here we go for every finals that we see. Fans will say that this is scripted and it's part of the plan to prolong the championships to max out the games up to game 7.

Reason for suspension; read the article.
Automatic one-game suspension keeps SMB's Jericho Cruz out of Game 3
Quote
JERICHO Cruz was conspicuously missing from Game Three of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Wednesday on the court and even on the bench.

Why, you might ask?

Well, the San Miguel guard sat out the contest because of a one-game suspension that was automatically handed to him by the league.

READ Marcial warns Abueva of another indefinite ban
Under league rules, a player is sanctioned with an automatic one-game suspension once he accumulated a total of five technical fouls during a conference.

Cruz was called for the technical foul in Game Two after taunting Calvin Abueva at the 1:49-mark of the third quarter of Game Two which the Beermen won, 109-85, to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven title series.
I didn't know about this rule. So if a player have maxed out 5 technical fouls for the entire season or conference then he's eligible for that. What a rule but I guess this will teach most of the players to be careful for every fouls that they do because it becomes crucial at the finals if ever they become one of the teams there. It was just fun to see Jericho did returned the favor to Calvin on game 2 but his presence was important on game 3 and that's one reason they lose.

There was a similar rule in the NBA too, but it's 16 technical fouls before a player gets suspended for one game without pay. It make sense that it's more than the PBA since the NBA has more games to be played compared to the PBA. I think Cruz didn't count his technical fouls, if they were behind, that could be a big blow on them.

In today's NBA, a player who receives 16 technical fouls in a season is suspended for one game without pay. For every two additional technical fouls, he receives a subsequent one-game suspension.

I know it exist in the NBA but didn't know PBA have adopted this rule too.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education and why it should be a priority. on: February 07, 2024, 10:56:45 PM
Dealing with our daily finances and expenses will be a lot easier if we have established financial education in our early years. The problem is application only happens when we start living adulthood. That’s when the time when we have to face the battles in life, otherwise we will left as a failure in the society we live.

However, I believe financial education is taught in our school age, but most likely our professors only touch a very small portion on that, so expect that everything we encounter right now remains a great challenge on how we will manage rightly our finances.
210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: February 07, 2024, 10:37:34 PM
Bitcoin is currently priced at $44k so I guess it’s not the perfect timing to enter the market, but wait for a price correction because it will surely happen after a consistent price surge. However, if you have a good amount of funds that you can afford to lose, then that won’t be a problem anymore. Just stick to bitcoin and do DCA to increase the amount of your hodlings, that way you will come to reap with huge profits when bitcoin bull run takes over the market.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 07, 2024, 03:22:12 PM

I think that Cavs, Kings, and Clippers bets have the highest chance of winning.
Good luck everyone, have a great day ahead.

We are on the same team, they might win but the problem here is if they could cover the spread. 2 of these are playing at home, while the Cavaliers are on the road. If we based on the record of their opponents they could easily have a blowout win especially on teams Pistons and Wizards. If I would rank the 3 bets I have the same as you based on percentage of winning, it will be this....

1) clippers  2) Cavaliers 3) Kings.

Although Pistons is a bad team, only won 2 out of  20 road games, but sometimes Kings are so careless, they can't take care of their big lead, so if Pistons will come back normally in the 4th where Kings would just relax, the +13 might be covered. however, I still stick with the pick.  Smiley
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 06, 2024, 07:46:48 AM
You actually don't need to buy points on that game because they dominated the Sacramento Kings with 26 points victory. It was the defense of the Cavaliers that was really impressive, they are as hot as the Clippers but Mitchell is playing differently, he trust his teammates more now and they are cooperating with their leader.

Max Strus has been huge, score 22 points (made 6-10 beyond the arc). This guy could have help Miami if they did sign him.
Today's bet was stress-free Cheesy and on top of the solid defense, they had a better three-point shooting percentage.

The Knicks' spread is tempting for tomorrow. They'll be facing the Grizzlies, who have 10+ players out from their lineup, and i'm still debating if I should live bet them or go for it this early before the odds start moving.
Go with the pregame odds I suggest. Now it's -13.5 but as you mentioned, they are so undermanned and we witnessed how the Grizzlies played last game. Knicks aren't happy with their last game, so most likely they'll have a strong bounce back game tomorrow and I can see an easy 20+ points victory.

Aside from that game, I also like the Phoenix Suns -4. Bucks has been on and off lately and Doc Rivers had only won 1 game since he took over the coaching job, while the Suns has been hot lately. Last time, Beal scored 41 points, and that showed that anyone from the big 3 could have a big game.

If the Jazz were able to beat them, for sure Suns will do more than that.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 06, 2024, 06:49:41 AM
Also bought a few points because I don't want to lose by the hook again like yesterday. Tongue

214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your take on this Robert Kiyosaki's thought? on: February 04, 2024, 11:56:28 PM
It could mean that in the bull run you sell your BTC and when you buy back you make sure the amount of BTC you got is more than the amount of BTC during the time you sold. Or you buy back the amount of BTC you sold and then the extra USD are your profit.

Not really sure what he meant but we can only assume. This old timer got onboard in the crypto market earlier he sure has experimented.
I also find his thoughts confusing but one thing I know, we’ll only be profitable with bitcoin if we buy at a lower price and sell it at a higher price. As simple as that, we can say that the profits is there, regardless if it’s big or small. However, it’s easier being said than done since we all know majority still find it hard to be in profits, despite of the fact that by simply buying low and selling high, profits are already coming.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will government recognition kill cryptocurrency or boost! on: February 04, 2024, 09:15:02 PM
Bitcoin or other digital currencies have a rebellious image because they are outside of government control. But when it comes under government regulatory agency, Bitcoin will no longer have that rebellious image. And will be counted as one of the ten institutional investment sector.

Not necessarily. It's not like suddenly all bitcoin is under government/regulatory control if it gets regulated. There will be people that solely just wants price exposure(hence goes with Bitcoin ETFs), and there will be people who prefer having self-custody. It's not one or the other.
Bitcoin is decentralized so expect that those who will engage with bitcoin still aim to be free from the government control. They will prefer having self-custody over bitcoin which I think is the right thing. And if ever in the future the government will come to accept bitcoin, of course it might be possible for bitcoin to lessen its decentralization but it will never be that fast to see bitcoin under the control of the government.
216  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: February 04, 2024, 08:19:15 PM
Saving & planning for your future when you are young is really important for building wealth later in life. By starting early you have the advantage of time & compounding interest. Saving allows you to accumulate funds over time giving you a financial cushion for emergencies & unexpected expenses. Planning for the future helps you set clear goals & create a roadmap to achieve them. It can help in developing disciplined financial habits & avoiding debt. Investing wisely in your younger years can generate substantial returns ensuring a comfortable & financially secure future.
Saving should be encouraged during our early years, but unfortunately majority still end up without savings not because one has no plan for his future, but sometimes life gives us a challenge to survive in a daily basis and saving becomes the last option. However, that does not mean that success won’t come for those who are not able to save, but if you can save as early as you can, and creates early investment plans, there will be bigger opportunities and chances to be successful early in the future.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 04, 2024, 11:27:33 AM
Gsmbling  is not what you can depend on to realise money to pay of debt, because at the this point the state of mind will be so desperate and you won't be able to reason way. At the point going into gambling,  you are trying to create more debt for your self because gambling is not what you need to depend on because it is unpredictable. Gamble is supposed to be played without having much expectation of making money quick from it.
It doesn't mean it's impossible to win in gambling or to pay off debt from gambling. However, if we are responsible enough, we know that we are taking a high risk that our chance of success is very low, at least based on the majorities experience. As experts said, majority of gamblers losses in the long run, so that reality alone is already against us, however, if we do  have the skills then we can certainly make it possible to succeed.

We know ourselves better, and we know if we have the skills to be profitable in gamblng, because if we only believe and relied on luck, then we should forget this stupid idea.

Those who have debts should realise that gambling is an expense, like many other amusements. If they are in financial trouble and they decide to play in the hope their problems will evaporate magically instead of making a realistic plan to tackle the situation, that's daydreaming and a non-responsible behaviour.

Odds are against them, and also their state-of-mind due to their frustration because of their bad situation. But even if they won, I don't think that's a good thing either, because the next time they have problems, maybe bigger ones, they will trust in their luck again, and in the end it is almost unavoidable to get their fingers burnt.

It's probably due to desperation. When a person are on that situation, he is not afraid to take a higher risk just to solve the problem. People want instant solution on their problem because we know that money is freedom, and if we have pile of debts or we are drowing on it, that means we are losing our freedom. So gambling could come up to their mind as a solution to the problem, it's a high risk attempt but if they are lucky, it will solve the problem right away, and they can still enjoy if it has some extra. However, as mentioned, the success rate is quite low, so it's not advisable to try this.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: February 04, 2024, 10:26:55 AM
Anyway, I only spend a maximum of $2 when I bet with a set budget of $20-$50 everytime I gamble. That's what I can only afford.
I am not that far on that range but I won't give specifics. If this is what we can afford, the advantage of doing this on a crypto casino is because they won't be asking that much for the minimum deposits and amounts of bets.
That's one good thing in crypto casinos that we are with because they're asking fairly low minimum that everyone can afford. It is to make everyone happy with their gambling deeds with a very minimal amount.
I guess I would call people lucky who have that kind of range because the risk is also low. As for my case, although I'm not really a huge earner, I just live an average life but sometimes I get too aggressive in gambling, greedy as they say, but thats just me, maybe my nature that I don't like when I lose.

Sticking with what you can afford only showed sign of a responsible gambler, doesn't matter if you bet $1 or $2 as long as you are getting the thrill or entertainment value, because if you are not getting it and you only risk a small amount to minimize the risk, then there's no sense of gambling.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: February 03, 2024, 10:56:14 PM
Average people never see bitcoin as a gem or long term asset, but most likely like a passing trend that will lost its way when a better one is coming. And they don’t believe that the future is in bitcoin, since bitcoin is just a digital currency that will not even over power fiat currency and the traditional investments. They’re happy with bitcoin, but they’ll never be sad and affected when bitcoin is gone. That’s make them different from us as we might go broke and completely upset if one day bitcoin will be gone.
220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Financial advise from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional. on: February 03, 2024, 10:38:26 PM
What do you think about this financial advice from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional telling newbies not to consider investing in the top 100 cryptos of which bitcoin is included, if they want to make profit?

Don't believe on what he’s saying, he is just making a noise to disrupt us from investing in bitcoin. It might be for personal reason trying to satisfy himself with quick money, but newbies should never listen to him but instead go take a good research. You will just prove to yourself that being rightly informed with help you avoid people like him and will help to avoid future scams as well. If you hear other persons talking like this, then DYOR immediately so you won’t fall on another scammer’s trap.
