Cool. Will be nice one day to get a mention without being adjacent to "is this a joke" :-)

what payload is on the HBN client? I started to notice the ASIC miners on a computer would start to go on and off while the sticks on other computers were not being affected. Eventually I pinpointed the cause to the HBN client. None of the other clients running on the same computer have any effect on the usb sticks. so the question is obvious, what did you add to the client? I noticed the CPU running at 90%+ used by the HBN client. I will no longer run the client, i will send the coins straight into cryptsy and recommend everyone to do the same

If you solo mined for sometime, then you have MANY MANY small inputs trying to stake. See the post above.

I run multiple wallets and I run ASCIs with no issues at all on same computer. I have quad core. Sounds like you have single core.  So you need keep the inputs for stake down to a reasonable level.

that particular computer has a I5 2.7. The ASIC lights keep going steady when the HBN wallet is running. I have around 50 sticks on that machine.  I haven't run a packet sniffer but is very suspicious that only happens when the HBN client is running

Are you running stakes with many small inputs? If so this is the cause of the high CPU  usage, which could effect other processes.

But if you are insinuating that there is some type of back door to which is taking your ASCI mining power, well sorry my friend that is not the case. The source is on github, and can be compiled easily.

So it sounds like you have many many small inputs, trying to stake at once.  This is a common problem with fast staking coins.  I handle this by creating a second wallet(use the new button) (wallet-stake.dat). Then send the coins in 10% batches from the one wallet to the other. I like to wait a few hours between sends.

This should help. You will loose coins days, but only takes 10 days to begin staking again.

To get the wallet to be more responsive to do this action, start it with -reservebalance=9999999. After you have sent the coins to the stake wallet, and they are confirmed, stop the client and restart.

but If I loose coin days I`ll loose future coins? and coins-days will never restore to the same amount?
I was solomining for a while and all inputs I had - "5" and it`s a lot cause I mined ~6k

any work around to save coin days?
does my 90% orphans PoS problem caused by many transactions?

Not sure what you mean by future coins? There is no work around to save coins days.  But after a coin stakes, those days reset anyway. So not much is lost.

Yes 6,000, in 5 block size is too much for the CPU to handle. That is 1,200 inputs going into the CPU at once.

Think of it this way. What you have is like running 1,200 5870s on the same box. If you combine them, it would be like running 10 7950s.  Much more efficient.

All the issues are related.

Combine your coins into another wallet, in 500 chunks, with 2 or 3 hours separating the batches.  Then those coins will start staking very nicely for many many months, until you need to combine again.

Good luck

90% of my PoS mined coins currently "Generated but not accepted" why? it was opposite before 90% was accepted...

10% orphan rate is normal. 90% is definitely wrong.

One other person complained of similar issue.  I am gathering more information.

Please answer the following questions.

What version of HBN are you using?

Are you fully up-to-date with the block explorer? As far as the correct block number and difficulty?

What type system are you running on? Win build(if win), ram, cpu?

Is your CPU maxed at one core? IE Hobonickels-qt.exe is taking 25% of a quad core system.

What is your internet type? and latency?

How many connections are you holding?

Please also restart the client with -debug and -printstakemodifier and -printcreation and -printcoinstake -maxconnections=50

Let it run for a bit get a few good stakes or orphans, then please zip up the debug.log and put it somewhere for me to look at. You can PM me the location or post here.

- version is: v1.2.2.3-ge43cb68-hobo
- looks like it is fully up to date:
{
"version" : "v1.2.2.3-ge43cb68-hobo",
"protocolversion" : 70002,

}
- Win 8.1 Pro x64 32Gb Ram i7-3960x
- it is 8% - what is equal to 1 core in 12 core CPU (6 physical + 6 virtual)
Also hobo running extremly slow (starting tooks a minute+ and other actions - even getinfo and trying to copy it - make window unresponsive, transaction log sorting for ex. makes a hobo-window unresponsive for a minute+ too)
- internet pretty good - let me know how to measure it and where to ping... as for speedtest.net it is 14 ms/10/10mbits
- maxconnections=100

I have an old debug log ~ 26 Mb and I`ll create a new one - let me know which you want or both.
Thanks!

Just got my first PoSes, it's very attractive to print money from money Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
I just cant get how this magic works: it looks like it splits the  amount in wallet to lower parts or combines the transactions to make several stakes  ?  Wink

And also it looks like i got more than 2% (almost 3 % Shocked) Thats great, but is'nt it a bug  ?

It ranges from 2-6% depending on the length of time it took to stake

Hot Diggity Dang, I just got me 1 bitcoin worth of them there HoboNickels. I'll toss it in my pouch and bury it out back of Mr Richards' ole apple tree.

I mean, keep up the good work supporting this coin...any future plans for it?

Thanks.  Although with HBNs generous staking algo, it is best to leave a little bit connected to the network to enjoy a nice juicy stake.  Grin

I have lots of plans for HBN. Short term, continue to secure the network and wallet. Mid term employ Stake 4 Charity.  Longer Term, create "Deal of the Day" directly into the wallet, pushed through the network.

Thanks for your support!

Hi all, I've been mining for just about 6 months now.  I find this all very interesting.  I'm in late so I'm trying to build up some alt-coins and looking forward to the future of crypto currencies.  I'm currently trying to mine HBN Smiley

Thanks,
blitz

Hi Blitz welcome aboard the HBN train. Next stop>>>>>>> DA MOON!  Tongue

issues with transaction. Got a new motherboard and didnt realize my computer time was off. I had sent 40 hobocoins to a second wallet I had setup for stake with the time set wrong. As a result these coins wont confirm. I do a wallet repair and it pulls the coins back into my wallet. But on next boot it trys to send transaction back out. Any idea how to fix this? If not and for my sanity I may just write off 40 HBN and start a new wallet. Thank you

This is an interesting one. I'm not sure the best way to handle that.  Let me see if I came up with a solution.

Messed around adding Level DB tonight. So far so good. I am hoping it will help improve start up time. It does at least lower the block chain size from 619 meg to 309. So that is at should be helpful for the future.

i am getting lot of stake orphans is this normal?

like i get 5-6 orphan stakes to get 1 that confirms

Normal maybe, but not acceptable. It should be 1 or 2 orphans for every 10 good ones.   If you are getting that many orphans, that is usually caused by too many small stakes.  It is best to combine the coins into larger batches. depending on how many coins you have I suggest 250-1000 coin batches.  This can be easily done by creating a second wallet called wallet-stake.dat and sending coins to it.

i have my payments in 500-1000 batches in a second wallet if you remember we discussed this few pages back and i did as you recommended.

today all orphans

Sorry about the trouble. I will do my best to get to the bottom of it. This is the first I have heard of this problem

how do i restart
Please also restart the client with -debug and -printstakemodifier and -printcreation and -printcoinstake

and i am running windows 7 64bit 4gb and i am mining on the same system it is an amd cpu

screenshot of cpu usage http://prntscr.com/2coe6l

Just shut down the client, then in the dos command prompt start it up with those switches.

how is your mining going? No issues with orphans?

mining is fine i am using the blocks pool

i will try these commands
and report back
do i close it after that and restart it normal??

Ok I thought you were solo mining.

yes you can close and restart normal after you get a few stakes.
