that sounds good.

I setup a new wallet so start moving coins to the new wallet in 1000 batches?

Its been working nicely for me!

Thanks for clarifying so now the coins that i have in my wallet if i move them i will lose the days that they were in the wallet?

so they reset?

I am also collecting the payment in batch of 500 from the pool

Moving coins will reset coins days. But hey it is only 10 days.

500 coin chunk is a good amount.

I am working on Advanced Coin Control, which will allow you to pick which coin to send. So you could leave coins that are bout to stake, but send some that are only a day or 2 old. I'm about 30% through.

Is anyone selling these coins? I'm looking to buy a few thousand. Let me know your price in a private message, thanks.

You can buy from 2 exchanges currently.

Plenty of large cheap lots right now. Scoop them up send them in 1k chunks into into separate staking wallet about once per hour. And boom you will get nice stake just about every day Smiley

can you clarify please, what is the purpose of having separate staking wallet?

what is the best way to do this, i am mining and holding for the sake of the stake and i would like to know the best way to do it

Thanks

When you mine, you are getting blocks of 5 coins. After each block ages 10 days it will try to stake. What you will notice is that after many days(say 15+) of constant mining you will have thousands of coins all competing for stake. This will cause the CPU load to increase, which will in cause turn the gui to become very sluggish, the stake will also take longer in the CPU miner thread, which will lead to higher orphan rate.

By creating a secondary wallet you can alleviate many of these issue by mining on the default and accumulating say 1000 coins. Then send those to the stake wallet.  This will allow the block of 1000 coins to stake together. This will give you a much higher advantage against all the little stakes. Less orphans, GUI responds better. And it is cool Smiley

Also I would note that creating a VERY large block, may not be the best strategy either. As you can still get orphaned, and lose that stake.

i have a question,
how come there is no volume on cryptsy to trade hbn is it cuz everyone holding for the PoS

or not many people interested in buying or selling it?

I think it is a bit of both. Plus there are only 1.9 Million out, not billions like other coins. Also right now the market is in consolidation mode. This is the time to stock up.

Nope, no problems as long as you are fully synced up and matching the block explores and or coinchoose you are in good shape. The warning is normal while catching up.

The latest version is 1.2.2.0?
I think something is wrong, I'm mining with diff <100

help please

The diff in cgminer is not the same as the network diff.

Hi!

Well, I'm totally new to mining, please be patient with me Smiley

I wanted to install the client on a linux system (debian) and downloaded the source
from the link in the very first post of this thread.

First of all in the contrib/debian/bin folder there is a binary called novacoind. Is it for mining hobonickels?
The novacoind.install says copy novacoind to /usr/bin and src/novacoind /usr/lib/novacoin/ (I didnt find any directors src containing novacoind?)
I copied the bin/novacoind to the folders.

Starting novacoind it created the ~HOME/.novacoin/novacoin.conf but no wallet.dat and the other directories to store the database.

I adjusted novacoin.conf to:

daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
port=7372
rpcport=7373
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
gen=1
genproclimit=-1

maybe someone can help .

Thanks.
Hey dude, you need to be amending your HoboNickels.conf  If you are a bit lost drop me a PM but I assume you have the latest client etc...

@layerz

I can't send a pm yet. I downloaded the source.tar.gz from this website http://www.hobonickels.info/ (I followed the links there). And in the source file there's only novacoin client included. that's confusing. Is there another way to get the HoboNickels client binary for linux?

I just downloaded the tar ball, the source code is for HoboNickels, but the files under contrib are novacoin. Sorry for the confusion. I will fix this in the next release.

For now it is best to compile your own.  The files under doc have instructions on how to compile.

Oh by the way everyone I wouldn't bother sending these to cryptys anytime soon. I think they having many deposits issues, even despite the fork last night. I'll let everyone know when it is good again.

Bah...I wrote that last post too late. Sorry, I hoped to catch you before you had a chance to send them.

Thank you very much for the coins sent....despite the previous post, it is much appreciated. Even if they do eventually find their way into some other deserving soul's wallet, they will have been put to good use  Wink

Find a buddy, have him download the newest client and send him some HBN.  Tell him just to let it run in the background and it will double every year for doing nothing! :-)

I'd be plenty happy with that.

Ouch yup that hurt, quite a large number lost now I've re synced! Sad

Back on course now though

I don't mind to send you a few for your troubles, just let them stake.

That'd be awesome, my stake wallet is:

F1X9whYLw6s32eadhowQdX4AE2JkcRpQqg

BTW with the one's I have mined do I need to switch them to the Stake Wallet to get them to gain stake? Or is this auto?

There ya go!

 Staking is automatic. I like to keep my staking wallet separate from my mining or giveaway wallet. But you don't have to. After alot of mining the gui can become sluggish. So keeping them in the staking wallet helps that a bit. Especially if you send them in nice 100 or 1k chunks.

6000 at current difficulty would be insane.

It really went up alot in a day.

yes this is as high as I have seen the diff in a while. Nice to see HBN hitting 50mh+/s

I am getting transaction failed errors trying to send some HBN to my other wallet.

I've deleted the blockchain and am letting it download again. Will see if it errors out in a little bit once it's back in sync.

Still an issue?
Yes and No.

It would give me transaction fail if i tried to send 3000 HBN. I then sent 1k and 2k hbn with out issue.

You may have had to run repairwallet.  But sounds like you are back in the game!
