I will say it is interesting to watch the coins disappear slowly as they are taxed. Not sure why I would want to hold them for long...

yeah, was moving 6k of HBN to my other wallet right when the rollback happened. Was a little worried lol.
Was moving it so I can see a few large groups of POS's instead of the crazy amounts of small ones constantly
yes I like 1k blocks, they stake nicely, not a lot lost if you get orphaned, and they will split down for months before you need to recombine.

fixed them Thanks No problem looks like you are generating some nice PoS. Keep it up

I did the repairwallet command it it said some coins were affected and that's it. { "mismatched spent coins" : 12, "amount affected by repair" : 55.01779500 }
My wallet still has a bunch of orphaned transactions that are sitting at the top of my list, along with unconfirmed amount just sitting there. Is there a way for this to go away? it's getting hard to see my current transactions from the orhpans. yes start the qt with -salvagewallet It will take a while to startup. You will lose your addressbook, so export it first. Also backup you wallet first as well. You can also just sort by date, instead of by status.

I think this is wrong. I know if I can get my hands on cheap btc. I will be scooping up many of the alts.

Hey guys, I was wondering about the 2% stakes... I've had some HOBO in my wallet for over 10 days and didn't see any deposit for the 2%, how is the 2% working really, shouldn't I see some "stake" activity every 10 days ?
thanks for clarifying this out for me
As long as you haven't moved your coins they will stake. Give it a bit longer. Mine take between 10-12 days to stake. 10 days is the start of stake time. Can take as long as 30. Each day the coins weight is higher so it will have better chance of staking. But your % of stake will also increase, so really nothing is lost when it takes a bit longer. All right, i'll still keep an eye on it... it's been 12 days since the first input so I guess it could be anytime now! thanks for the quick response. Another thing where could I read to learn more about the staking process ? Have you moved coins out of your wallet? https://www.google.com/search?q=how+does+Proof+of+Stake+Work

OK, my client is running. Yet, I don't have real mining hardware and therefore I have to give HBN a try with the integrated CPU Mining from the client. Is there a chance to find some blocks at the current difficulty with CPUMining?
(I know that CPU mining is not effecient in the long run, but before I invest money in hardware I want to learn about the process itself )
Yes you might get a block or 2 a day. I did the same thing when I started too. I have a vid card that is 74hk/s running for 217216 seconds or 2.5 days and has hit about 17 blocks. OK sounds good for the beginning. Just another question. Is it better to run hobonickelsd with "setgenerate true" or is it also possible to use cpuminer connecting to the hobonickelsd? $HOME$>./minerd -o http://127.0.0.1:7373 -u user -p pass I think minerd is more efficient, and yes it will connect as long as you are running in server mode.

what is the benefit of having encryption on the wallet when it is unlocked for minting
i can send coins and it doesn't ask me for the passpharae?
Well if someone gets your wallet.dat they would need your pass. There is a missing piece to walletpassphrase which is unlock for mint only. Which would then prompt the user for the pass when send. This will be fixed in a upcoming release. I'm out for the night. Happy Hashing!

that sounds good now i got the second wallet unlocked and the key pic showing encrypted and unlocked on both wallets but i still have the message on the second wallet here is a screen shot http://prntscr.com/291lueHmm, Well it is unlocked, so that message should go away. If it doesn't it is just a visual bug, and should still work.

thank you
I will give it a try
now after say the block of 1000 coins started getting the PoS
do you recommend combing the coins as what they have to do it with nvc or it does not matter?
cuz after a while the amount will be received smaller and smaller so will that slow down the cpu as well?
I'd say just watch your CPU, if you are getting close to maxing out 1 core, then it maybe time to recombine into default, then put out 1k chunks again. I'd imagine you might have to do this every 6 months or so. Maybe by that time do 2k.

after adding the new wallet
i added a passphrase and when i tried to unlock the wallet to stake
it says the wallet is not minting due to being locked
it wont let me unlock it
it unlocked the default one only
listwallets then find your walletname usewallet <walletname> walletpassphrase <yourpass> 9999

that sounds good.
I setup a new wallet so start moving coins to the new wallet in 1000 batches?
Its been working nicely for me! what happen if my computer was offline will i get stake on the days it was off? The coins will age, but you will need to get back online and caught up with the chain before you coins will attempt stake.
