1201  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Who can help? My husband died and a mining farm remained from him. on: February 01, 2023, 04:28:08 PM
Please help me! Maybe someone understands where it can be sold. Or teach you how to use it?

You can sell it in the forum marketplace or on ebay. I believe selling it is the best than run it for yourself because you don’t know how to operate it. There’s a chance that you can’t maintain it properly that will cause damage to the mining rig. Besides bitcoin mining takes a long time to get profit and it requires a lot of maintenance for the rig run smoothly. You will have trouble running it if you have other things like your job.

I suggest to sell it here and ask trusted escrow to hold the funds for you so that you will not get scam. Ask @minerjones for help because I remember he is selling goods for someone then he will just ask for a commission. He is the most trusted escrow here in the forum that involves on selling goods.
1202  Economy / Reputation / Re: How can a person gain his/her trust in Bitcointalk forum? on: February 01, 2023, 01:31:05 PM
Suppose if I buy something from a user in this forum ? And after the transaction and trading  am I supposed to ask him to give me a feedback in my profile ? And doing it, how do you see this ?

If the amount involved is significant, leaving a positive feedback to the counter party is the best thing to do. It’s not wrong to ask him to leave you a positive feedback for a successful trade but you should not insist it as if it’s a must because trust feedbackis gain through common trust.

Doing a consecutive successful feedback from a legit trade will increase your reputation especially if the amount involved is huge. But you should not trade for the trust score because you will surely failed to build your reputation. If you are planning to established here then you should invest time and effort to fulfill many transactions successfully.
1203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 01, 2023, 01:01:09 PM
Both fighters need this win, especially Magsayo who just lost a split decision against Vargas this is a very even fight both fighters are capable of delivering a knockout and both fighters can go the distance, the fight could go either way because they have the same style and power, of course, I'm in favor of Magsayo, this is going to be a much tougher fight for Magsayo, Figueroa loves to break down his opponent with his body shots so I hope Magsayo is ready for this.

Magsayo's gas tank is questionable though, he might get tire as the rounds go, as compare to Brandon Figueroa who is known to have a deep lungs. So it will be dangerous of Mark if the fight goes to distance as he might lose again on the decision.

So for him, it's better to rely on his power here. Yeah, I know he feel in love with his knock out power. And when it didn't come that's where the problem is. Just like against Vargas. It was a war but at the end, the judges gave it to Vargas because of accuracy.

I’m sure Magsayo team knew exactly what’s their weakness and probably focus on increasing his stamina for his training camp. That weakness only highlighted on the recent match since he have a pretty good run before that split decision match happened. This is same when Manny Pacquiao first lose to Morales, Pacquiao team focus on how to counter Morales aggressiveness by improving Pacquiao footwork to catch up Morales.

Having a explosive punch is a great disadvantage on boxing since everyone can improve their stamina through proper training. I will bet for Magsayo this time since many people just criticize him because of his recent loss neglecting all his previous good run. I really believe on training improvements.
1204  Economy / Economics / Re: I have resolved into buying more and caring less on: January 31, 2023, 03:59:49 PM

Yes, investing in Bitcoin or any other asset should be done with caution and with a long-term perspective. It's important to have a diversified portfolio and to not put all your eggs in one basket. Having an emergency fund separate from your investment portfolio is advisable, so that you don't have to sell your assets during market downturns or when you face unexpected financial obligations. Additionally, it's important to educate yourself about the market and to keep an eye on the economic and political developments that may impact the value of your investments.
When it comes in crypto we need to monitor it throughly especially in altcoins, but if its bitcoin then its fine to just hold it. I have learn to buy more when it comes in stock market during pandemic since there is really a chance that they will recover, but about some altcoins that loses value during pandemic it seems to have no update up to this time and some already considered as scam project. We can buy more as long as we know where we put our money and we studied it. And as long as we still have emergency funds that we can use so there is no need to withdraw our investment when the market is not doing well.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: January 31, 2023, 03:17:44 PM
People usually feel sad and lonely after losing. It's the opposite for you.
I have not really gamble when I'm sad. Having a deep emotion affects decision-making afaik, it's the same as when a person is angry. And then your mom is in the hospital.

Just browse the social media account you have, it's there for you not to feel lonely. With it, your siblings and friends can be reached.
People who tends to gambling when they’re lonely became more lonely due to their losses, it is not advisable to do gambling when were not in mood to think or there are other stuffs in our mind since it will only lead to more losses. As much as possible do not gambling if we have problem or when we don’t have extra money. Gambling is a emotion breaker it can makes us too excited, too happy and the opposites of the two. It is like playing our minds and emotion so we must have other things or hobby to ease our mind. Do gambling only with cautions and when we know we have money we can risk to deal with.
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: January 31, 2023, 02:30:52 PM
There is no point in beating a dead horse that is how when you feel there isn't enough income in your locality then move to a place where the wages are better not even too far just to the nearer city where you can have better salary but comes with more hard work then only you can bring the real change in your financial status.
There is no need to move if the area have internet access, there are plenty of online jobs now that get give more profit than actual job can give. I knew some friends who stop going office and rely in online work as virtual assistance some become online affiliates and encoder. There is just some need to study how it works but where already in modern generation now that we can do more jobs and not just by sticking in 1job for 8hrs or more. And now that online access is much wider finding job is limitless we just need to acquire some knowledge to do it.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We lose on the long run through return percentage on: January 28, 2023, 05:04:35 PM
According to statistics, a casino or sports betting office should always win. But those are just statistics. And not everyone gambles with the same amounts. This is often not included in the calculations. If you keep gambling long enough, a casino will always keep winning because players rely too much on luck. That will always be the case with gambling, in the long run the luck will turn against you and then you will lose a lot of money and perhaps even go bankrupt. I think the ROI is something like 45% while at 50-50 it should be 50%.

Luck is not really a valid basis on stats. The reason why house always wins is because of the house edge. Players will surely lose in the long run because of their limited bank roll while the house keeps killing em slowly. The greediness of gamblers makes the loss intensify due to chasing losses.

Casino only rely on house edge and their huge bankroll that sufficient to make the casino alive while getting passive profit from the house edge in the long run.
1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: January 28, 2023, 03:38:06 PM
I remember watching videos of people participating in those matches where they exchange slaps and wait for someone to be knocked out.

I just Googled this and found this:
https://www.powerslap.com/

It's amazing how it looks like, and this made me interested in watching it.

You could also join if you want  Shocked
https://www.powerslap.com/#about

Really interesting fights though. I like the part of the site where it shows the W-L records.

Dana just improves the current slaps competition that become viral before on social media. It’s just ironic that Dana white release the announcement for this sports right after he has an active case for slapping his wife. -https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/02/dana-white-wife-drunk-fight-slap-new-years-eve-nightclub-cabo/ Cheesy

I believe he use the timing of his case to introduce this new game to have some humor and at the same time to show that he can continue despite an active case against him. I’m sure this sports will gonna be interesting in the long run.
1209  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: January 28, 2023, 03:17:42 PM

I have been in a job I detested and although I somehow managed to stay at it for up to 4 years, I didn't even for once let go of my passionate hobby and other passive streams of income I was interested in at the time.
Today, one of my passive interests pays more than my salary. My mind has been yearning for a resignation, but opinions of others and family bears the message of patience with the job I so much detest for reasons ranging from inflation to fear of the unknown.

If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?

Having a multiple source income is good and also you should consider how stable your passive interest can sustain your profit compared to your current job salary. There’s nothing wrong to quit your job if you’re not happy on it and your profit on your other side hustle is greater and sustainable than your current job. The only good thing about jobs was you can get promoted in the long run plus the company benefits that pays your insurance, health card and other personal things which you can’t get on others.

Sustainability is the most important here as deciding factor to your question. Try to weigh in your 4 years of experience to your current profit.
1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2023, 01:26:14 PM
My entire parlay collapsed with Tundra collapsing against Gaimin Gladiator. I did not expect that GG will easily beat Tundra. They dominated Tundra in both maps with Quinn giving his team a perfect game. He is everywhere on the map in both games as Puck in map 1 and Lesh on map 2.

GG winning this series secured their slot to Lima major. If Entity wins against Nigma, it will be a 3-way tie with OG and Tundra for the 3rd and 4th slot for Major.

Tundra is always like this in every early DPC points tournament or Majors. They usually made all the adjustments on the late tournaments and play dominantly. GG find a decent mid laner compared before when Boom is in charge.

On Nigma side, They are still performing good on follow up good performance against OG by beating Team Secret flawlessly. Entity might be a hard opponent for them but I think they will secure this fight for a chance to play in the major. They already dodge the relegation so I think they will want more for this new effective lineup. I just hope that Kuro will not throw the pick.  Cheesy
1211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 28, 2023, 01:14:40 PM
There is this thing about shopping and airlines that when you check and forget, they send you bonus or discount for your possible shopping/trip. Same holds true for casinos, if you just register and leave they will send you some bonus to get you started playing.

  -  What do you mean by the register and then leave?
Didn't you register because you want to experience being able to play and take advantage of the other bonuses?

I'm sorry I can't get your point here mate, Do you mean that if you don't want to play you will give me a bonus equal to gambling just so I don't have to leave, is that what you mean?

If you are familiar on his example about shopping and airline. These companies always send voucher whenever you have unfinished transaction on your account so that you will be tempted to continue the purchase with the use of voucher. He is thinking that this might be applicable on gambling since some casino send special promotion on newly registered accounts. Although I find this absurd since most of the casino promotion even for special case like new registered has a very hard requirements to complete. So collecting is just a waste of time because you will still need to gamble just to get the bonus money.

I think simply he is just trying his luck on registering to multiple casino and see who will give a promo offer that will gave him a good benefits.
1212  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 27, 2023, 05:16:58 PM

It all depends on our financial capability. If we can only afford to rent then so be it, just save and grind hard so you can afford to buy a property in the future. It will be better to take a single step at a time than force things out and make you suffer for a long time such as taking a loan.
In our country, there are rent-to-own properties which I think is a good option for those who are just renting. At least you can live comfortably while renting and you'll have ownership of the property after a few years.
Only few countries have an option for rent to own properties and if it have sometimes it is limited in provincial areas. If we wanted to have a place near our wark offices it will be hard to find a properties like this, will be lucky if we can find one that will allow it and with lower values. I have knew people who stops renting now since work setup is work at home now and they are able to go home now in their provinces. I guess it will depend on how we use the place we rent and if it will gives more comfort to us to rent than to travel back and forth. It is not considered as waste if we were able to save our time and energy into doing things more productive.
1213  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we end the *VOLATILITY OF BITCOIN* on: January 27, 2023, 04:15:56 PM
There are already merchants who accept Bitcoin regardless of its volatility, so they can hold or sell when they believe it to be convenient. Also, for those who do not want to deal with sudden price changes, there are services which allow them to accept Bitcoin as payment method and immediately cash out into FIAT, so BTC can be effectively used as a tool to transfer value.
In my country there are already merchants that accepts Bitcoin but thru an app registered here in our country where merchants can convert it easily and the value of the buyers payment will depend on the item price at the time of payment. Many uses it now and sees that somehow in the future it will matter. Sellers have option whether to accept it or not and it's good if sellers also intro trading as they have chance to make it grow or know when it will be needed to convert or just wait. In terms of volatility, this what makes Bitcoin gain popularity and supporters as those who can trade and wait in the right time will be able to get more profit on it.
1214  Economy / Economics / Re: Track every rich person take on: January 27, 2023, 02:41:21 PM
Most of the rich person just inherit there wealth while  the rest thrives to become successful because they don’t want to be part on the infinite loop of poverty. Only people that is not contented will have the curiosity to explore more gains rather than focus on jobs and get fixed salary for the long time.

Every rich person has different approach on how they got rich and we can’t follow that same path because that is only applicable on their situation by the time he do the first big move for his success. Most rich get there wealth by inventing a groundbreaking product.
1215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we now on Crypto bull run? on: January 27, 2023, 01:48:17 PM
I don't know if a bull run will happen this year, especially since the bitcoin price is still under $ 30k. It will not be easy for bitcoin to increase its price even to above $30k because it requires major support. But I'm still sure that the bull run will happen. Perhaps, next year is close to the halving process. Investors should learn much from the FTX case not to keep their funds on an exchange, even if it is a centralized exchange. It's best if they start moving their funds to a personal wallet that they can always keep an eye on.
As we wait for the price to increase we must take necessary precautions now to keep our investment safe, if we need to invest in having ledger or any hardware wallet then better buy one and store in it than regret losing it in any exchanges. If we believe prices will soon go up and intended to buy more at times like this or at dip we must secured first where we place our investment since we need to wait before we can be able to gain from it.
1216  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: January 27, 2023, 12:16:05 PM
Fiat and cryptocurrency is very different. Storing fiat doesn't have any risk like volatility, but I don't want to store fiat in the first place because it doesn't have volatility unlike Bitcoin. But for a newbie, maybe he will have a hard time at first when he invested in cryptocurrency because it requires basic knowledge to know what you'll do in certain situations. The only thing I want about Bitcoin is I am sure that in the long run, it'll give me high profits that I couldn't find in fiat.
There is lost in just keeping our money in fiat or in bank, as inflation increases our money saves might still be the same in number but no longer in value once we use them in purchasing. If we're not into crypto then it can be better to invest in stock market or properties. Use only fiat for emergency savings and daily transactions.
1217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big money bad for bitcoin in the long run on: January 26, 2023, 04:39:29 PM
As bitcoin continues on its current bullish path, all kinds of people are trying to ride this wave by buying any cheap coins they can get their hands on as they anticipate the next High to come. But the scary part about this is that Big money is also flowing into the crypto economy that will push price to easily register new highs, but this comes at a price, when these whales decide to take out their money.. markets bleed red which is why Big money is not good if volatility is to be controlled. In the long run Bitcoin is better off without the Big money, otherwise this becomes like a pyramid scheme always leaving the last man standing with empty pockets as the first guy to make a move gets all the accumulated $$$$.

What's the community's take on this?

This is the natural scenario in trading even on stock market or crypto trading. Big money is not the problem but rather the hype without any solid reason is what makes this kind of rally a fake out. Big money from whales helps Bitcoin price to grow further. They will not take profit if they saw that the price is continuously increasing. Their exit will not be noticeable if new trader will enter to catch there position.

The only problem was when everyone panic and afraid to buy. Not only big money but also retail traders are the one who’s dumping the price hard.
1218  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason why I will never help anyone to invest in crypto on: January 26, 2023, 03:28:37 PM
It's more preferable to introduce one to something new and then teach them everything there's to learn about that thing but once it gets to the investment part, they have to do that their self. They should be the one taking the risk and not the other way around.
I remember I decline some of my friends when they just wanted to give them some money and they will just wait if ever they will have some returns, they just wanted just to invest in me and wait for some returns. I don’t like the idea since it will put me into too much pressure. I explain to them the risk and gives them necessary informations or guides where they can research for their investments or trades if ever they wanted to push by themselves but unfortunately their interest where not into crypto and just let it slip, they might think Im selfish but it will be better if their the ones who will handle their money.
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin limitation on: January 26, 2023, 01:56:00 PM
This is not a limitation of Bitcoin but rather your current situation. You shouldn’t push yourself to learn Bitcoin if you are on the secluded area away from the internet. Investing Bitcoin is not a must if your current situation is not suitable for it. What’s your main goal on studying Bitcoin? To become developer or investors? Because you can buy and hold Bitcoin by just traveling on your capital to buy and store it in your wallet to hold. It doesn’t need to be check most of the time if your main goal is just to invest.

You can also download all the ebooks related to Bitcoin then study offline in your island.
1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin compete with CBDC's? on: January 26, 2023, 01:07:15 PM
With the current state of market trust what will incentivize the average person to use bitcoin over a CBDC?

Since banks can control supply they can use inflation and other mechanisms to encourage spending. Bitcoin on the other hand requires additional layers to handle even the current network traffic and lacks incentive for day to day transaction use.

No because Bitcoin has different structure than CBDC. CBDC is just a digital dollar and bankers just make it fancy with the use of their so called unique blockchain but it’s fiat that coming from thin air through unli print. While Bitcoin on the other hand is a complete decentralized currency that has limited supply. It can’t be affected by inflation due to to it limited supply and very good in the long run. Bitcoin is backed by PoW while CBDC is backed by politicians word alone.

They are incomparable and Bitcoin is the best in all aspect when it comes normal citizen benefits.
