1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cheat the Lottery Winner on: January 25, 2023, 04:42:52 PM
Another example of why we should not trust even our blood relative when it comes to dealing with financial matters.
Money is something which can turn a brother against brother. This is why I tend to handle all my money related matters myself.
It can be anything but we should practice to do all things by ourselves.

Yeah, the most cruel and greedy thing was his cousin deduct a tax on the small money that she gave just to show it as legit winnings because tax applied. I believe Argueta decided to return the money after the real winner give a threat to him because a simple case that will subpoena his bank account details will be caught her and enough to face jail time.

There’s no way to become anonymous on claiming lottery prize since anyone in the lottery board can tract all the connection of the cousins to get the info of real winner if there’s really someone who will be interested on the prize money.

1222  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 25, 2023, 02:45:45 PM
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

1.There’s a possibility that Bitcoin will turn to zero value since it’s price is backed by speculation but it’s very slim to happened because there’s always someone who’s willing to purchase Bitcoin on low price before it will go down to zero.

2. Of course crypto market will be collapse since Bitcoin as the most trusted cryptocurrency. The whole market will follow if the king collapse.
1223  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Crazy fishing games - May naglalaro ba nito dito? on: January 21, 2023, 04:04:10 PM

Cheesy
1224  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which indicators you use? on: January 21, 2023, 03:21:35 PM
I have been trading for a while now and have hit/miss success with it so I'm interested in which indicators you use the most? For me, right now I use EMA 50, Alligator and MACD/RSI(depends), and I try to make my decisions based on them and on my experience.

Bollinger bands is the best when you know already the general trend because you can easily spot the perfect opportunity to buy and sell by just looking on the upper and lower BB. But the combination of EMA and determining the pattern is still the best indicator whenever there’s an indecision in the market. Those indicators is what I’m using in different scenario of my trade.

Some use many complex indicators but I would say that sticking on the basic will give you a high chance of making a right call on your trade. Technical analysis on trading is a self fulfilling prophecy. Using a complex pattern that the majority of trader didn’t know is useless because no one will follow it. Just stick the most common indicators.
1225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your take on this crypto gambling use case idea? on: January 21, 2023, 11:36:14 AM
Do you think it makes sense if a crypto gambling platform only accepts it's own token for gambling and gambling on it's platform? If the games they offer are one-of-a-kind, new, and addictive wouldn't this make the gambling token very valuable? I am asking on behalf of a friend who wants to build his own crypto gambling project on the blockchain. Will this work? Will this fail? What's your take on this?
Doing this will just make there customer go away because most of the gamblers preferred to play using their favorite currency and doing this kind of exclusivity will hurt casino customer. There's a tough competition on gambling market which I'm sure casino will not gonna do this kind of idea just to boost there own tokens. This is only possible if the casino has the game which gives special reward that other casino doesn't have because if the casino games is just generic then choosing other casino is an easy solution for gambler rather than purchasing casino tokens just to play on it.
1226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Must Be carefull about Ledger live Browser Extension on: January 20, 2023, 05:13:16 PM
Using the official website alone to download the links will guarantee you for downloading an official application. This info is a nice find because a newbie user of ledger X might be a victim of this extension if he/she didn’t know how hardware wallet works because the typical web 3 wallet sign in is through inserting seed phrase on the wallet.

Reporting the fake ledger live extension is the best thing to do on this case.
1227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is bitcoin mining risk for begiiners? on: January 20, 2023, 04:17:21 PM
As I know, mining bitcoin is the risk you get lost if don't have a good source.
but on social media, I always see everyone or the company share and sell the tool you will get a profit if use it.
For example; bitcoin merch, as they sell it for beginners and look friendly; just plug in a USB to a PC then the beginner can be mining the profit.

is the company know what the risk is if they sell it to anyone especially a newbie who doesn't know anything about mining?

https://bitcoinmerch.com/products/bitcoin-merch%C2%AE-mars-lander-solo-bitcoin-miner-up-to-250gh-s

It’s risky because the mining equipment is so expensive while there’s no guarantees  that you reach even ROI before the equipment becomes not working anymore. The cost of of electricity is what makes Bitcoin mining risky because you can suffer a serious losses if you didn’t compute your profit on mining versus the electricity expenses in the long run.

Bitcoin difficulty is increasing in the long run while competitors to solve a block is increasing too. This industry is already saturated by aspirants miner which is why Bitcoin mining is risky for beginners or even long time miners.
1228  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit exposure with Bankcrupt Crypto Lender Genesis on: January 20, 2023, 03:33:58 PM
It's not that alarming since the 150M exposed amount is collateralized and already liquidated to 120M. A 30M loss is not that huge for an exchange like Bybit although questioning the earn program source of reward is valid because this is the reason why most of these DeFi company bankrupt due to being unable to pay the money by their user since the company use the funds o failed investment. I'm not using Bybit but staying away from it for a while is not bad.

There's no proof about the amount being recovered aside from the mere post of the CEO that doesn't have a reference. It's ovbious that he will claim that they are good since they have a lot of customers that participating on there earn program. An exposure is still an exposure and there's always a repercussion with this kind of failed investment that the Bybit CEO will not gonna share.
1229  Economy / Exchanges / Bybit exposure with Bankcrupt Crypto Lender Genesis on: January 20, 2023, 02:29:04 PM
I'm sure everyone here knows about Genesis announcing Bankruptcy. Recently Bybit CEO disclosed on his Twitter account that they are indeed exposed to Genesis through there Mirana investment company. The intriguing part was they just disclosed this info right after many people on social media posted about this info.

Quote from: Ben Zhou
Full disclosure:
1. Mirana is the investment arm of bybit.
2. Mirana only manage some bybit company asset. Client fund is separated snd bybit earn product doesn’t use mirana.
3. The reported 151m has abt 120m of collateralized positions which mirana had already liquidated.

Bybit has an earn program which reward all the user staking on their platform. Due to insufficient details of the CEO, People is now concerned about where Bybit gets those rewards that are being paid for their reward program. They are assuming that the money came from the investment on Genesis lending platform and it will be a huge problem once the source of the reward will be cut-off.

Will Bybit be another company that will bite the dust? We all know that this series of bankruptcy filings is due to the exposure of fallen companies like FTX and Luna.
1230  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: January 20, 2023, 11:12:39 AM
Cost of living here in the Philippines is pretty cheap compared to other countries, but the salary and wages isn't on par with the price of goods. I live alone, have two jobs and live near the city. What I earn is more than enough for me and some other hobbies that I have. Total budget every month never exceeds $600, and that includes rent, bills, food, and gas for my car. However, the quality of the food I eat is a little compromised; I seldom have any greens on my food because of how crazy expensive they are here. Meat is somewhat cheap, and that is what's usually on the menu. Any other comforts in life, I can afford but choose not to because I'm trying to save and invest in order to retire early.

We are living in the same country but the only difference was I'm in the province. I'm a corporate worker in a company near my province and my salary is above minimum wage. My family has a small farm for fruits and vegetables so most of the time we have a free meal from our harvest. The cost of living here is very cheap and I have a job that can sustain my other financial needs. I don't have any other expenses except the bills since I don't like spending on lucrative things. I would say that we are blessed to live in our country and I'm very contented with what kind of life I have now. Simple living away from city stress is the best.

Many Filipino still choose to work overseas while the locals in that country are already complaining about their cost of living. This is what I don't understand in our country.
1231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat your Bitcoin as if it is already Worth 10x of what it is on: January 19, 2023, 03:16:58 PM
The value of Bitcoin is not going to be 10x what it is now, if it is for you then don't recommend it to others, I recommend that you hold your Bitcoin as long as you can and as long as you want, it could be 10x 50x or 100x times it doesn't matter as long as you can and comfortable holding it depends on the trust of the holders on Bitcoin, its a holder to holder basis.

He is not directly implying that Bitcoin will be x10 on this thread but rather how to be more cautious on protecting your asset like you are holding huge amount despite your real balance is small. I agree on the precautions method that he share but people should always apply this safety precautions whatever the price of Bitcoin is because 1BTC is still 1BTC which is very precious to become reckless on securing it.

All the method shares above is basic principle on how securing Bitcoin wallet. He also forgot the extra security needed that whale holders usually have which is using hardware wallet to store Bitcoin. He mention a lot of tips yet there’s no difference between security methodology of newbie to whale holder.  Cheesy
1232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Genesis Bankrupt, Impact on BTC? on: January 19, 2023, 02:54:04 PM
According to a report made by cointelegraph a few hrs ago, Genesis (a cryptocurrency lending firm) is about to file for bankruptcy as early as the upcoming week.
What would be the impact on bitcoin's price? Should we be worried and sell a part of our portfolio to buy back a bit lower after the news ? Or better hodl?
Eager to know what most of the ppl think.
Personally I didnt use genesis ever myself Tongue

Afaik, This bankruptcy will take some time to take effect also there’s a process which they sell all the assets to the willing companies that will take over it so unless Genesis will be pushed to sell there crypto assets as is. I believe this bankruptcy will not gonna matter in technical perspective. The only factor that make this new give negative impact on crypto is when people panic without knowing the whole process of filing a bankruptcy form.

Many crypto companies like Binance that willing to takeover this kind of bankrupt business for a cheap price. This kind of act saves crypto market for a possible sell off.
1233  Economy / Gambling / Re: MEGA:PARI | Gambling&Betting | Deposit in Crypto! | Claim your bonus here 💸💸💸 on: January 19, 2023, 12:15:55 PM
Hello Team Megapari,

I have something really weird on my account happening.

The odds on ALL games have been lowered on my account. Whenever I am logged in my odds are clearly lower than when I am logged out. This means they have personally lowered the odds for all games on my account only.
Is this normal practice?

I will give you an example: Real Betis 6,95 Draw 4,60 Barcelona 1,44  is what I have logged in.....but when I log out I see: Real Betis 7,50 Draw 4,94 Barcelona 1,47.

Can this be corrected?
Have you tried to compare it with other bookmakers, which one is closer to other bookmakers, is it when you logged the account or when you logged out the account? I think this can answer your curiosity because if the odds are almost the same as other bookmakers when you are logged then there is nothing wrong but if it's the other way then megapari has to fix this

It's very easy: I am getting lower odds on ALL outcomes of ALL games on ALL sports than other customers. That is simply unfair. Apparently I won too much to their liking and this is their way of "punishing" me. Very childish if you ask me, I would have preferred normal odds and lower limits.

they do the same for me after i place 5 bets
and they limit me to 0.01 usd all markets except live soccer lol

This is happening on other popular sportsbook like Stake. The reason behind this limitation is because the bookmaker is the one giving allowable limit to every player that will placed a bet on there partenered sportsbook. I don't know if this is same with Megapari but this is a defence mechanism of casino to counter those user that keeps winning since they are not profitable on bookmaker aspect.

Megapari is not the one that limiting you but the bookmaker.

sorry but cut the odds after 5 bets is ridiculous
why be a sportsbook if u not allow ppl to bet
in casino u have no limit, and u can win much more so why just for sportsbook they not let us bet

Bookmaker is the responsible for it. Some bookie is being use by different casino and probably they marked your IP already if you encounter same experienced like this. This is not new and the number of your bets doesn’t matter if the bookmaker saw something suspicious on your account on all crypto casino through your IP.

This topic like this was discussed many times in the gambling discussion board. You can read same scenario from other casino here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5409086.0
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 25 in Saudi Arabia on: January 19, 2023, 10:11:31 AM
I’m surprised on the odds given for Fury considering that he is an active pro boxer while most of Jake Paul previous opponent is not an active boxer or non boxer. Fury is the toughest opponent for Jake Paul to be honest despite most of his opponent is not that formidable. There’s a huge difference to fight a UFC fighter on boxing compared to an active boxer with a perfect record besides he is the younger of Tyson Fury which makes him a natural good boxer by blood.

I will take that 2.55 odds for him as an entertainment bet. I’m excited too if one of the Paul brothers will fight Salt Papi next.  Cheesy
1235  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: January 19, 2023, 08:37:21 AM
^That is not bad as long as you hold it for a long time and set a goal of profit. Because the market already grew up altogether with BTC and that is the reason you bought tokens at a higher price. But that is not a problem if you set a goal of taking a profit, as they have said, there are no called losses if you will not sell your token under the price where you purchased it. Gambling tokens will take time to arise even though the market shows resistance it just because of the low trading volume.
Buying altcoins when market is very bullish is risky if you don't exit at right times even you have to accept a draw or minor loss. It is more risky when you buying altcoins in bear market which with a downtrend will continue many months. Along their downtrend, there are bounces that are chances for buyers who joined at top to cut their loses or for smart people who rejected to join at tops and waited patiently to buy around bouncing points and get profit.

Very little people who have good discipline to cut loss and have enough patience to wait for bouncing points to hop on and get profit.

A bear market has yet ended so if you want to buy FUN token, it is good but remember to have a plan that last longer than 1 year. Within 1 year or longer, make sure you dollar cost averaging FUN token and have enough patience to wait for bull run in 2024 and 2025.
Now is a good time to buy FUN tokens as the price hasn't increased too much. We must have a plan for how long we can invest in FUN tokens and don't forget to invest in bitcoin because bitcoin is our main investment. I can't imagine how high the FUN token price will be when the altcoin season comes to the market. The price may exceed our expectations, which is what investors who have been saving and staking FUN tokens for a long time will get.

And make sure only to buy FUN tokens when the price drops, which will trigger a drop in the bitcoin price. It will be a good moment to buy FUN tokens so you can buy them in large quantities.

The problem on investing with FUN tokens was it’s supply is very massive which is 10+Billion tokens in circulation. This kind of tokens usually very hard to be pump especially if the utility is just for the token. Although it’s circulating supply is already closed to the maximum supply, Lowering the total supply will be a great feature from this token since this is not the original native coin of Freebitco.in.

I don’t know if there’s a token burn feature of this token but adding it will surely gives boost to the price since the circulating supply is already near to the max limit.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 18, 2023, 02:38:22 PM
This strategy could work in basketball more than football as there are only two probabilities in the money line, while in Football there are three, Once you bet on the underdog team to win, you should consider that a draw could happen. it might work in football for the (draw no bet) market, but I didn't try it. In competitive leagues like the EPL, possibilities of unexpected results are always available, every round we watch one or two of them, but the odds couldn't help if one decided to take the underdog side in all matches, as they would end up as a loser. I think in basketball odds could be much higher as there are only two results.

As already stated in the description of this strategy in the attached link. This betting against the public only works on bet options that have 2 outcomes like Moneyline, points spread and so on. Even so, it's very hard to win on this strategy since you are always relying on an underdog to win or on the lowest possible outcome. Doing this bet will surely put you at a lot of risk and it will be dangerous if you didn't know how to handle risk properly.

Betting on 1.8 to 1.9 odds is much better since it's a fair odds for a close match. Anything unusual odds such as above or lower is not good for me as a normal bettor on sportsbook.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a live table game dealer here? on: January 18, 2023, 09:57:33 AM
I don't know if there are users of this forum who work as casino dealers because in this forum there are many uses and are spread all over the world.
But I don't really care about that because it doesn't have a negative or profitable impact on me either.
If there were I'm sure they would not disclose in this forum about their job as a casino game dealer.

You probably missed the point of this thread. It will be more beneficial if we can get an extra knowledge about the casino since some of them have secret which only employees know like a dealer. Besides there’s no point on making his/her job a secret here because we are all anonymous and there’s no need to mention what casino he is working for to answer gambling related questions that I brought up here.

My only mistake is not making this thread a self moderated topic to make the thread clean until he saw this thread. I will try to contact the guy on the reddit and convince him to go here.  Cheesy
Yes, it is true that it would be more profitable if we could get additional knowledge about casinos.
But it seems impossible for someone to reveal their job as a casino dealer and they want to easily provide information about the casino where they work. Moreover, information that is confidential is impossible to say.
I also have never come across a thread in which there is a statement from a member of this forum that he works as a dealer in a casino.

Do you read the reference on my thread? Also, I already explained that we are all anonymous here. No one will gonna know who are you in case you wanted to share since we don't have KYC here. In your case, you are Klidex here but no one knows who really you are and where you leave in case you want to share information. Besides the details that is asked is not illegal. I don't see the reason why it be hard to do so in case he saw this thread.  Wink

How much quantum computer will cost and also I doubt that this kind of one of a kind computer will be use just to hack a certain wallet while it can be easily tracked on where will the token be send via blockchain.

I’m Bitcoin security will evolve if there’s a threat like this in the future.

@Team_Megapari I encounter a typographical error from the bot response to my inquiry when I use the live chat support feature of the casino. There’s a misspelling on response to “responce” as shown on the attached email below.

I notice too that our sportsbook offers a lot of entertainment event type while miss universe is missing on the option. There’s a demand here in the forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5434697.0  for this kind of bet type when I browse the gambling discussion section.
