A lot of people are smashing their ledgers into pieces when they announced a service to custody people’s seeds. This sparked outrage because it makes it possible for the secret seed to be extracted from the device.
A year ago or so they claimed it’s impossible for the seed to leave the device and now they are claiming it’s possible.
No funds were stolen but it seems that hardware wallets aren’t as safe as people assumed. The biggest issue here is that it’s not open source and no one can verify if it’s actually secure.
What are your thoughts?
So this means all the suggestion about using hardware wallet such as ledger is a lie? How come no one audit their product code before it was release to the market. All of the person that advertised it as safe should be penalized in case damage is done?  JK I’m prepared that something like this is possible since they can be considered as centralized since no one do an audit to them. That's why air gapped DIY wallet is still the best rather than wallet that being manufactured by somebody since you will still need to trust the manufacturer for the integrity of the product since there is no way for us to check the code or software manually. I have a ledger but it's absurd to crash it now while my funds is safe on it for a long time. |

Is part of the organised accounts from Croatia where they have been using same device. KYC´s are made in public places with some older people on street. He is speaking about one account what I blocked immediately when discovered that he is part of the same gang and using same device. Other accounts are in great + (same device) what is not mentioned here. I am pretty sure that these BT accounts belong to same Croatian person also.

Or sidechain is inevitable to cater this kind of heavy transaction. I’m thinking that Bitcoin scalability issue should be solve now before the real mass adoption happened. This might be one of El Salvador consider on implementing Bitcoin as legal tender.
Chivo Wallet uses LN technology, so most payments in El Salvador are probably in the second layer, so the recent events with the temporary increase in the mempool and fees in the bitcoin network probably should not have hit bitcoin circulation domestically. Good news to Bitcasino fam. The transaction fee is almost back to normal. It only cost 34 sat/vB approximately 1$ to send a high priority transaction. Imho, I don't see any news that will push Bitcoin to break this current bear market. A real bullrun needs a catalyst to give confidence to everyone to buy more. Only the increasing pressure on transaction dur to the ordinals is the only bad new on Bitcoin but it's not enough to create major panic in the price since this Ordinal user is spending a lot of fees that isnvery good for the Bitcoin miner. There are times that Bitcoin halving doesn't give a major pump like what everyone expecting. It surely gives a price rally before halving but it correct fast once halving is over. The good news that follows the halving is important to continue the rally. |
