1281  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Need Suggestions on Paypal Freezing Bitcoin Payments on: May 16, 2011, 07:18:15 PM
PayPal froze randomly selected accounts so they can make money off the account balance.
Head over to paypalsucks.com and you will read more horrible stories.

1284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: New OS install...where'd my wallet go? on: May 11, 2011, 06:35:52 PM
First reason: you forgot to copy your wallet.dat. It goes in c:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
Note, that AppData is a hidden directory.

Second: you have to download all the blocks to see the correct balance
What exactly does "download all the blocks" mean?
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Maximum number of GPU cores supported by Win 7, XP, and Linux on: May 11, 2011, 06:33:52 PM
What is the maximum number of AMD/ATI GPUs supported by Windows 7? XP? and Linux?

I know Windows 7 can support up to 8 nVidia GPU cores.

It seems like someone asks this question every 5 minutes........ please tell me where you read win7 can support 8 gpu's?
If someone ask the question every 5 minutes, does that mean is has been answered and I am too lazy/dumb to search?
Or has it not been answered? Causing people to ask over and over again?

the BTC price is not working correctly in your first post.
A lot of the price is just empty.
1289  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Super Mining Rig W/ 6 GPUs. *Just theorizing a build* on: May 09, 2011, 05:08:00 PM
Also the GPU limit for Windows is 4 GPU's (or 2 dual gpu cards) and 8 GPU's in linux (or 4 dual gpu cards). 6 dual gpu cards is nice but not possible for either system.

Also not counting the cost of a windows license.
I don't know where you are getting the Windows limit of 4GPU's. I've seen people running 8 GPUs (4 dual GPU cards) without any issues.
1290  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: MSI Big Bang-Marshal Holy Crap on: May 09, 2011, 04:37:20 PM
so why pay for a expensive motherboard, when you can get a cheaper one, that has the same amount of pcie x1 slots?
Care to show us a board with 8 PCI-E x1 slots? As far as I know, I've never came across one.
1291  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5850 @ 340Mhash/s on: May 07, 2011, 03:43:35 PM
that is normal.
my card range from 60C to 90C.
It just depend on where the card is, and the temperature of the air flowing in that area.
1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Will pay bitcoins for help! Computer restarts using pool mining. on: May 06, 2011, 04:57:07 PM
I would say Power supply problem.
My 5850 runs at 91C without any issues.

So do you have 1x extender with the other end cut open to allow a 16x to be inserted?
You are losing a lot of business every day you delay those pictures.
1294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Computer crashes when I stop mining on: May 06, 2011, 04:38:36 PM
I have similar problem when running multiple GPUs.
After I quit the miner, the screen will continue working for a few seconds, then the computer locks up completely. Have to reset after that.

Will try the quite worker 1, then 2, then 3 method.
1295  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5850 @ 340Mhash/s on: May 06, 2011, 04:20:02 PM
Well, Sapphire 5850 Extreme is NOT reference. So I guess I just blow up your hope.
1296  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5850 @ 340Mhash/s on: May 06, 2011, 03:39:50 PM
Is it still true that Non-reference (Sapphire 5850 Xtreme) cards don't support BIOS voltage mods?
1297  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5850 @ 340Mhash/s on: May 06, 2011, 03:06:14 PM
Any tool to actually modify the BIOS?
I would like to OC with software, then, once I found the max clock and desired voltage setting, I would like to flash the BIOS so I don't need to worry about OC again when I switch the card to another PC.
Is there a complete guide for that?
1298  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5850 @ 340Mhash/s on: May 05, 2011, 09:35:12 PM
That is awesome. will try it soon.
1299  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: bitcoin mining quad xfire 5850 - need help picking mobo, case, psu on: May 05, 2011, 08:12:14 PM
I got my Sapphire 5850 Toxic 1GB clocked 950/300 and that's pushing 363MHash/s and never goes above 60C (60% fan).

Even though it said that it couldn't adjust voltages I pushed it up slightly to 1.15 so the card became stable above 925 core.
If it couldn't adjust voltages, then how did you push it up to 1.15??
1300  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Multiple GPU setup query on: May 05, 2011, 02:45:48 PM
yes, i ended up getting 1/2W 100 ohm
