wtf? 5850 and 5830 isn't out.

lrn2 search. the stores that are the most popular are obviously sold out, but some of  the tiny stores probably still got ~5 left. Wink
wrong.
those small stores get it from the popular stores.
try order them and you will find out ur order gets cancelled.
I used to sell PC parts for about 10 yrs, and know how it really works.

$140+tax for a "Best Data" (Diamond) 5830. Worth it?
depends on where u r and what you want out of bitcoin.
if you just want $$, then no. Bitcoin is way too risky.
1203  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How many graphics cards windows support on: June 10, 2011, 10:04:42 PM
I know someone here run 5GPU on Win7.
I have installed 5x 5850 in one board, but the last one would not run OpenCL applications.
If you are using nVidia cards, you can have up to 8GPUs in Win7.

1204  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is mining still profitable? on: June 10, 2011, 09:56:45 PM
no its not. don't build that rig.
1205  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mt. Gox drops to 20, reconsidering your mining rigs? on: June 10, 2011, 09:41:36 PM
You do know that MtGox website is registered under someone that is on U.S. soil, right?

You do know that MtGox is only an exchange and Bitcoin does not need it to succeed, right?
you do know that someone can easily register another website in another country right?

I know where you can find 5830s for 100€ + shipping.
Selling the info for a total of 5btc.  Grin
If you have anyone else looking for them you could make a collect...
wow, another business opportunity for you!
Too bad I am in USA, and 100pound is very expensive for a card like that in USA

1208  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 1 Bitcoin for the one that solves my problem! on: June 10, 2011, 05:24:03 PM
I recently ran into that also.
Turned out to be a faulty card, and the other simply just compatibility problem.

As we all know, all of 5850 and 5830 are sold out.
What do you think might be the next best GPU?
Excluding all cards that you can't readily buy from major e-tailers.
1211  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Ubuntu Natty Narwhal 11.04 Mining Guide / HOWTO on: June 10, 2011, 01:49:33 PM
Is anyone else getting crashes with settings above aggression 6 or 7 on ubuntu or xubuntu?
I am runnning all my GPUs on aggression 6 because otherwise it is instable, FASTLOOP also makes it instable. The whole box crashes and becomes unresponsive, after minutes, sometimes a few hours of uptime.
I use sempron 140 cpus and 2 gigs of ram.
Yes, that seems to happen to me too.
I use Athlon X2 245.
1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC Guild. Donation % set to 0, but still donating 2.5% on: June 09, 2011, 04:20:38 PM
In my account, I set the donation % to "0.00".
Under "Rewards Summary" --> Confrimed Rewards --> it still dhows "includes unconfirmed blocks with 2.5%+ donations".

So the donation % setting doesn't work at all.
And, 2.5%+ donations is scary to me, as it can mean 2.5%, 10%, 100%.
I sure wouldn't want to donate 100% !

That's if you've set it to 2.5+%, which you haven't. Check the block statistics to see whether you have actually donated, and it'll also say how much you've donated under My Account.

I don't really think you needed to make a thread about this. Using your brain would have brought you to the answer. I also think that you should consider donating at least something, Eleutharia works hard and I think that his work is worth my 2.5% donation.
Then I guess you didn't understand the question.
I am asking why it shows 2.5%+ even when it is set to 0%. This would make people think the donation thing is not working.
Donation is donation, who said I didn't/wouldn't donate?
I made this thread to have a question cleared up, as I am sure the owner of the site is too busy and thus can't reply to every email.
1213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Ubuntu mining. How to tell which miner is dead, and kill the process? on: June 09, 2011, 04:08:58 PM
So I know I can run each miner in different "screen", so I can switch between then to check the status by reattaching to the "screen".
Now, say miner3 hangs, how would I know which one it is to kill in the process and start again? Wouldn't all appear at Phoenix.py? how to distinguish which is which?

thanks

1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Payout from BTC Guild, but it doesn't show up in my wallet on: June 08, 2011, 02:29:32 PM
Ok, I think I found it.
After I disable AVG temporarily, it starts to download blocks.
Now the question becomes, how do i QUIT AVG completely? or How do I add exception to bitcoin program?
Disabling AVG every 15 min is not fun.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Payout from BTC Guild, but it doesn't show up in my wallet on: June 08, 2011, 01:58:56 PM
So I installed the bitcoin client in another PC and copied over my wallet.
The client is sitting at 0 connections for 15 min now.
Is it possible that AVG is blocking it? Both systems have AVG antivirus.
I have disabled AVG temporarily, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
1217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Payout from BTC Guild, but it doesn't show up in my wallet on: June 08, 2011, 01:38:19 PM
now its over 20 hrs, still nothing.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Payout from BTC Guild, but it doesn't show up in my wallet on: June 08, 2011, 12:25:13 AM
it has been 4+ hrs.
The bitcoin client was on 24/7.
Anyhow, I closed it and open again, still the blocks are not increasing at all.
Windows firewall asked to allow the program to access the internet, I selected yes.
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Payout from BTC Guild, but it doesn't show up in my wallet on: June 07, 2011, 10:07:19 PM
Requested a BTCGuild payout hours ago, and it still haven't appear in my wallet.
My wallet receiving address is 1HdqXPbWfGCJnn97rZRtnu6BcTvCLeYtyB

The first payment didn't show up, so I thought I would request a second small payment. The second payment also didn't show up.

My bitcoin client shows 6 connections, 128408 blocks, and a "WARNING: displayed transactions may not be corr..."

What seems to be the issue here?
1220  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Ubuntu Natty Narwhal 11.04 Mining Guide / HOWTO on: June 07, 2011, 03:20:56 AM
How do I start one miner, then start the second miner, then the third, and then able to switch back to the first to check the progress?
Also, the miner should not quit when I exit the shell or SSH.
Help please, thank you guys
