how big should the usb stick be?

4 Gig would probably be sufficient, but 8 GB probably better.

I use 8 GB Patriot Rage XT sticks (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003WUX6PG)
So I just used a Kingston 4GB that I have laying around, and the installation process complain that there is not enough space.
I guess I will need 8GB then.
What is the best partition for a 8GB USB?

i am with BTC Guild, and sometimes my miner says "work queue empty" for every 10 or so blocks that got accepted, so there is no way to avoid that from happening?
1226  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: TriXX now supports voltage tweaking on your new 5830's ! on: June 03, 2011, 10:01:14 PM
very old news. it has been available for at least a month.

ok, i see.
So, how do I run multiple instances each with its own window showing the progress?
I am guessing opening up a terminal, run instance 1, open another terminal, run instance 2, etc.
Ultimately I am looking to create shortcuts on desktop where I can just double click to launch individual miners.
Could you show the code to do that?

Thanks mate, will send donations

Can anyone do a quick guide on how to make it work with Phoenix miner?
Would I be able to simply download the Phoenix miner and start running or does it needs to be compiled?
Sorry, I am a noob when it comes to Linux.

post links, receive your rebate check yet?

rofl... i'm not going to waste time putting together a list of the stuff I bought to prove this... I bought my xfx 5850 off tigerdirect (they don't have them anymore), the RAM from overclock.net member, everything else came from newegg. go search yourself if you're that interested.
I totally know how he got it for that cheap. I was a deal sweeper myself years ago, and you can get some really good stuff for more than half off if you know what you are doing.
1231  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: getting "Warning: work queue empty, miner is idle." on: May 30, 2011, 03:52:42 PM
I understand the frustration of DDoS attacks.
Hope it is fixed soon, as my miners are not working 100% as it supposed to.
At first I thought it was my GPU OCed too high and failing with this hot weather.
1232  Bitcoin / Mining / getting "Warning: work queue empty, miner is idle." on: May 30, 2011, 05:20:34 AM

1238  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining rig dual 5830's Questions asked and your thoughts appreciated on: May 26, 2011, 09:36:44 PM
2x 5870s + 1x 5850 uses < 550 Watts from the wall all overclocked (yes I actually measured it),

How are you pulling this off? What are your core/mem/vddc settings? Are you referring to just the cards or the entire system?
I am wanting to know that too, as the watt seems too low.
Unless you are undervolting.
1239  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The next difficulty level will make mining unprofitable. on: May 26, 2011, 08:10:26 PM
