An earthquake is a completely different matter compared to a flood because your house can actually collapse completely. The main difference is where you live because if you have you own private house then you should still be able to find your steel plate; if you live in an apartment complex, maybe a big one, and it collapses then there would be so much debris that it becomes almost impossible to find it. Maybe a solution could be to place it inside some kind of strongbox colored/painted with some very bright color, like they do with plane's black boxes. |

If we're talking only about trust, then yes, I totally agree with you. But let's not forget that we also like to money so regarding that, I think there are coins and tokens with more potential growth compared to bitcoin, that already has a very big market cap, so it required a huge amount of money injection in bitcoin to make a 2x or 3x while some altcoins can easily make a 10x. |

I mean if the business is running well you can use the money in the bank to grow the company without bitcoin. Just tell them there is bitcoin + and - of it and let him decide, if you friend think forward he might consider to buy some bitcoin
I mean, there is nothing wrong with providing advice but it is important to make sure that the person receiving advise understands all the risks and everything involved with the investment suggested. So if a person is suggesting Bitcoin investments to a friend for his company, he needs to tell him both the positive and negative consequences of the investment so that if things so south in the future, he doesn't get blamed for his suggestion. If I was suggesting something as volatile and unpredictable as Bitcoin to my friend, I would tell him straightaway that I do have some investment advice but I want him to know that there are risks involved in it, and then I would urge him to do some research about it and decide for himself and I won't be responsible for anything negative that might happen if he makes an investment in it because it will be his own decision. The point is that when you give some kind of financial advise to someone, especially a friend, to really have to stress about one thing: that person needs to do his own research. You need to give a hint, the first suggestion and a brief explanation of the reasons you think behind your choice of investing in bitcoin (or something else) but everyone is different so maybe a good reason for me could be a bad reason for you. |

I really don't see the big deal, at the end of the day is just water, and if we are talking about salt water that could rust and corrode even steel, it would require a lot of time, it doesn't happen in a few days/weeks. I would be more concerned about the sheet being dragged away. If you live in an area that maybe be subject to this type of events you should find a proper place, for sure not a simple closet or drawer. |

I'm wondering how Satoshi has managed to remain anonymous. Governments and high-level institutions have expressed interest in knowing his identity, and some have even tried to employ significant resources to find him, as evidenced by certain news reports.
However, Satoshi did use an account on this forum, along with an email address. All connections to this forum logged his IP address/user-agent and other digital traces.
His emails also surfaced during Craig Wright's trial. How is it that the email provider does not have IP and other information? Even behind a VPN, I believe that major institutions have the means to request the real IP from the VPN provider.
I don't want his identity to be revealed ! But I'm simply wondering how he has managed to evade the most powerful entities since 2010. Even with current anonymization technologies, the most prominent cybercriminals/activists get caught.

There are some very strong suspicious about Satoshi's real identity, I remember time ago I read about it on Reddit and, based on what I read, everything was pointing about an American living (and studying? Ah, ecco, mancava la parte che lo smartphone fosse in mano ad una ragazzina. Però non capisco una cosa, a questo punto che vi importa se chi ha avuto accesso all'email l'ha fatto con una VPN o no? Per capire se si sia effettivamente collegato dalla Germania e, nel caso, cercare di arrivare alla persona tramite l'IP? O quell'email conteneva dati particolarmente sensibili oppure a questo punto forse è meglio che il tuo conoscente migliori la sua sicurezza informatica per evitare che episodi del genere possano ripetersi in futuro. Io personalmente non darei mai il mio smartphone in mano ad un ragazzino dato che contiene informazioni delle carte di credito, delle banche, del lavoro, etc etc. |

I can't even find coinbase in their system, but I found other big exchanges e.g. binance.us, kraken, gemini etc, is Coinbase illegal?  The good thing that I'm not an American, so I wouldn't worry about this news, but obviously this would make other countries to tightening their regulations and force people to use their own local exchanges. Why is Binance.us on the list when the SEC had already issued a warning that it is shady? Oh yeah it has a "money service business" license or whatever, does not make it more safe one bit. I find it quite ironic that USA is trying to put CZ in jail and then say that his exchange is safe, and non-KYC exchanges aren't. Correct me if I'm wrong, FTX had all the necessary permits, licenses, certifications, whatever you want to call it, they had it, and we all know what happened at the end. Being licensed is helpful but if someone wants to scam you, they are going to do it anyway, just like SBF did. I really find hard to trust any info about exchanges or cryptos in general coming from US institutions. |

Giusto poco fa stavo leggendo la società che ha creato Metamask, Consensys, in questi giorni ha fatto causa alla SEC dato tutti i casini che sta creando per cercare di far dichiarare ETH come una security. Tutto ciò avviene in seguito alla causa della SEC intentata contro Uniswap prima e Metamask ora. Solite accuse di operare come un broker non autorizzato. Metamask a questo punto vuole che un giudice dia un'opinione finale su ETH per decidere una volta per tutte se sia o non sia una security altrimenti questo giochino andrà avanti all'infinito.
E sono d'accordo con loro, bisogna puntare ad arrivare decisioni finali, andare avanti con mezze battaglie che si ripetono nel tempo fa solo il gioco della SEC.
Quello intendevo con organizzare una resistenza, anche se in questo caso lo scontro è con l'FBI e il Dipartimento di Giustizia, un pò peggio che avere a che fare con la SEC. Anche qui la questione è legata ad un'interpretazione: se un wallet è un MSB (Money Service Business) come un un exchange quindi obbligato a fare KYC/AML Sono d'accordo con il concetto di fondo comunque: l'industria delle criptovalute ormai è una lobby sufficientemente grossa per provare ad opporsi a questi soprusi. Ha soldi, avvocati ed influenze politiche per dire la sua. Gli USA rischiano di perdere un treno tecnologico di quelli che passano di rado: non è possibile rinchiudere tutto nei giardini murati. Il rischio, a dichiarare illegale tutto quello che ne resta fuori è di dare in mano questa tecnologia a criminali veri, creando un secondo e peggiore Dark Web. Non si può cancellare: la scelta è se tollerare, mettendo dei paletti dove possibile, o bandire completamente, trasformandola in una rete underground del tutto clandestina. Mentre le imprese che fanno profitti si trasferiranno a Dubai, Singapore o in Svizzera. Difatti uno dei misteri più grandi per me rimane questa chiusura mentale americana nei confronti di una tecnologia che, piaccia o no, segnerà il nostro futuro, con o senza gli USA. Vari senatori sono già contro questa specie di dittatura monetaria ma conoscendo la testardaggine degli americani vedo una strada molto in salita, basta vedere come non cambia mai nulla per quello che ha che fare con le armi piuttosto che con l'alcool. Io utilizzando un tablet cinesone con tastiera uso principalmente una app preinstallata sul tablet "Keep" che lo posso utilizzare su tutti i miei device in condivisione, per tanto posso scrivere anche da smartphone, però come app non mi aggrada moltissimo perchè è molto limitata nelle opzioni
Quindi se usate qualcosa di più utile sarei interessato a conoscerla

Mi servirebbe un app più potente ma sempre per sistemi android. Nextcloud mai sentito parlare sinceramente, controllerò in questi giorni se può fare al caso mio. Ma dalla homepage mi è sembrato di vedere che e possibile usarlo da mobile Prova a dare un'occhiata a questo thread su Reddit, c'è un post di un utente che ha elencato 6 app diverse per prendere appunti su Android, in teoria dovresti trovare qualcosa che fa al caso tuo. Ma per curiosità, scrivi da tablet quindi? Mi sento davvero vecchio dentro allora, io sui forum scrivo solo da pc, mi piace avere una vera tastiera, scrivere post lunghi usando lo schermo per qualche motivo mi scoccia  |

Ti basta fare una ricerca su Google tipo "how to determine if an ip address is a vpn" e trovi un sacco di risultati. Riguardo al problema avuto dal tuo amico, ha attivato il 2FA? Dato che gli sono entrati nell'email direi di no, direi che oggi il minimo necessario è avere il 2FA attivo, non voglio dire che le password contino poco ma insomma, io se un sito ha il 2FA lo attivo sempre.
E altra curiosità: aveva una password fatta di un mix casuale di lettere, numeri e caratteri speciali oppure era una parola di senso compiuto?

Everyone not want to sell? That is not possible. You will see people that want to sell. If the liquidity is reduced because of holding, the price will increase in a way you will see people that will continue to buy and sell. Know that some people are just traders and not holding all their coins or not holding anything coin at all but to just trade.
Exactly, there are so many bitcoins and so many holders that is impossible to have a situation where every single person is refusing to sell, it's not a scenario that could actually happen. There are many people who are in just for the speculation so they are going to sell for sure, it's just a price matter. |

To me the impact depends on the area you’re looking at it. If it is the price impact, I don’t think we will have the same impact as the other past halving because the percentage of the price movement is reducing this is due to bitcoin facing less volatility than before. For example in the early halving you can easily get a movement of more than 10X but now it is hard. If you look at even the current market price speculation you will notice that the highest the predictions are expected to go is 4X from the previous ATH ($69k). And as we go later in future I think the volatility will still reduce more.
As for adoption rate, I think the later we go into more halvings the more impact it gives
I agree with you. It's kind of funny when people expect a sudden price increase because of the halving, almost as if nobody knew it was coming. The halving has an impact on price on the long run because there will always be people interested in buying bitcoin so many of them will buy after the halving simply because before they couldn't buy for whatever reason. |

Comunque sia, ok che sei in frenetica attesa del prossimo halving, ma quanto meno gustiamoci gli effetti di questo che è appena iniziato Direi che la curiosità principale è vedere fino a dove si spingerà bitcoin. Gli ETF hanno cambiato tutto, ecco perché abbiamo fatto un nuovo ATH prima dell'halving, cosa mai successa prima. Poco fa ho visto un tweet che diceva che ieri BlackRock, da soli, hanno acquistato 570 bitcoin a fronte dei 450 minati. E stiamo parlando solamente di un fondo. Avevo iniziato a lavorare al report META, poi lo ho accantonato, e nel frattempo ho scritto più di 50 messaggi, ed il report è andato perso., come lacrime nella doccia (o era pioggia?). Ma giusto per capire, dove li scrivi normalmente questi report? Tipo Word o qualche programma simile? Tieni semplicemente il documento aperto senza salvarlo? Perché data la lunghezza dei report fossi in te li salverei ogni 5 minuti, ci metti un sacco di impegno, un sacco di dati, sto sbattendo io la testa per te al solo pensiero di doverlo rifare...  Mi sa che usa l'editor interno del forum, premendo poi preview si salva una bozza che poi puoi recuperare nel menu draft. Forse perchè le tabelle essendo scritte in BBCode, può così controllare se non ci sono errori di visualizzazione. Io comunque gli consiglierei di usare un editor offline o magari Google docs che se non erro riesce a visualizzare i bbcode Esattamente, uso l'editor interno del forum. Proprio per i bb code, che altrimenti non riesco a visualizzare al di fuori. Però, grazie ad Ale88, ho scoperto che esiste un plugin di Google Documents che aggiunge i tag BBCode ad un qualsiasi testo. Non male, lo proverò! Oddio, ammetto che non avevo neanche preso in considerazione l'idea di scrivere quel genere di messaggi direttamente nel forum, più che altro perché in passato mi è capitato che magari mentre scrivevo la connessione non funzionava bene e quando inviavo il messaggio mi appariva la schermata che ero offline, e quando tornavo indietro il messaggio era perso oppure la pagina stessa per qualche motivo si ricaricava e anche in quel caso perdevo tutto. Non mi riferisco a questo forum, erano altri, però da lì ho preso l'abitudine a scrivere messaggi particolarmente lunghi su Word o TextEdit. Capisco il discorso dei BBCode però a quel punto preferire in ogni caso preparare tutto su Word e poi sistemare gli eventuali problemi una volta che si incolla il testo, peggiore dei casi devi solamente rifare il 10% del lavoro in quel modo. |
