1201  Economy / Services / Re: [SIG] Multi Asset Security Token Signature Campaign [OPEN] on: February 22, 2019, 01:41:41 PM
Adding DIMcoin to payment doesn't mean anything because DIMcoin is almost worthless. In fact, it's a shitcoin.

It's not Dimcoin its Dim Token. there's a difference.

And you can sell / buy DIM Tokens here : https://dimx.io/

Note that I have not made any exchange here - yet. But we'll see how this rolls out.

Hope this clarifies your concern.

I stand corrected. You win. Enjoy the free promotion.
1203  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] [SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN] CODEX EXCHANGE _____________________________________ on: February 22, 2019, 03:11:40 AM
Well, its settled. Campaign mod has made his final calculations and has assumed that only 19 posts out of the last 36 posts that I made were of "high quality / followed rules" .. out of 36 .. this is sad and disheartening. What a shame!

Seems like Codex received A week's worth of promotion and no money in return. Henceforth, I'm leaving this campaign.

Good luck to the rest of the participants.

Yes, you are right, you did made 36 posts. But, you should also understand that I am strictly implementing the rules that were laid out by the CODEX team.
  • Posts must be spread-out within the week, maximum of 4 posts per day. Excess daily posts will not count towards the next day/week.
You made a lot of excess posts per day which does not count. Hence, only counted 19 qualified posts.

You are WRONG

Each of my posts have time stamp on them. I spread out my posts between 4 pm to 5 am UTC - which would get displayed as under the same "forum day". By my calculations I have made a MINIMUM of 4 posts in each UTC 24 hour period/day and it is unjustified that I shouldn't be paid for my effort.

Since you are the manager I will let you post and compare the timestamps of each day of my post to UTC time.

I would request the admin to show me definitive proof that there were not enough posts (20) among the last 36 posts I made for me to get paid today. I am sure I followed all the rules by UTC standards and quality standards. I refuse to believe otherwise.

1205  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit status on: February 22, 2019, 01:28:47 AM
brits are now going to become the worlds example of the the "tyrany of the majority" with their 50.1% election outcomes.

I wonder how Brexit will affect the talent pool in the long run, will it damage the "British brand"?

everyone that listens to politics in uk will get mad, and burned out, only those that are ignorant to politics and elections will be able to thrive be successful and stay sane.

so in total it will destroy the "british brand" but out of britain there will be countless companies evolving with their unique identity.

Try listening to politics in India. First you, will lose the sense of hearing, partially or completely, you will lose hope in humanity, you will understand that none of this matters as the status quo benefits bearers of deep pockets, you will realize that there are deeper pockets at play and democracy is just a sham that politicians put on like make-up on a dead horse' chest.

1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit is dead. Is there any better alternative? on: February 21, 2019, 09:29:22 PM
I wonder why none of you are talking about DelegateCall?

While it may not be a Steemit alternative it at least is a quora alternative that allows you to earn crypto for your engagement.
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Listing an Exchange on Coinmarketcap on: February 21, 2019, 07:24:15 PM
So far I have worked with 2 exchanges, promoting for them, pitching for them and acquiring users for them.
And from my limited experience, I can say, listing on CMC is not that hard for an exchange. You just have to pick the right coins to support, attract those communities and that would easily give you the volume you need.
Of course, there is a basic requirement that you must meet and a fee that you may pay if opting to get listed manually (as opposed to them adding you) but none of these factors are beyond the scope of negotiations. In this industry, you'll go a long way if you have the right connections.

A good negotiator would close deals more efficiently for any business. That fact is compounded in crypto industry because of the sheer competition.
1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Skycoin Price Prediction 2019 on: February 21, 2019, 07:04:34 PM
Skycoin is not a joke ,if they can predict that the price will hit 0.15 $ by year ending then they are so wrong ,skycoin is a working product that has better chance of surviving on the long run ,it has the potentials

On the contrary, the biggest joke about Skycoin is well.. its name.

Yes, it may survive for another 7 years but just like how there has been little to no work done since 2012, it might just remain in the dead limbo for another 7 years.. or till perpetuity.
We keep hearing about Obelisk's release but we never see it. Why? well let's be honest, how will the project runners find enough money to fund a dead project? Okay, it may not be dead because we are talking about it but the ONLY way there can be any movement in Skycoin charts is if they somehow released Obelisk and it gained some hype / traction.

And who hasn't laughed at the drama behind that kidnapping story?
1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The FBI is looking for victims of Bitconnect scam on: February 21, 2019, 06:56:50 PM
Listen, if Mt. Gox couldn't get away with it, Bitconnect wouldn't be able to completely wash their hands of this either.
And in all honesty, most of us have gotten over the Bitconnect drama, I am concerned about a recent more heinous fraud.
Yep, talking about the Quadriga death scam.
Authorities, especially Canadian authorities should look into the issue of the Quadriga guys' death. That guy is trying to pull a ball of bigger wool over everyone's eyes. How can a guy forget to share key information about the secured wallet that has millions of customer funds and still remember to leave $100k for his dog in his will?
Don't get me wrong, if I had a dog now and I was rich I'd leave enough money for the dog as well as my family to live their entire lives comfortably but it won't be at the expense of people's hard earned money.
1211  Other / Meta / Re: "Show All" on long topics on: February 21, 2019, 06:42:27 PM
That's good to know, I was not aware of that.  The "show all" feature is cool, but it often triggers the cloudflare page.

Yes cloudflare is an issue. To the extent of my knowledge, all leading cdn's would be triggered on the same issue. I ran into this problem when trying to implement a similar "show all" feature on a flarum based forum. Another dev did confirm that Akami, Fastly, Amazon CF all were triggering the warning page. It wasn't a real hindrance to workflow just a bit annoying.

I am not able to find things when I try to search in my own/someone post history.
Nor did it look search button is effective when you search on the pages like this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1446224;sa=showPosts

The search function here is famously broken for quite some time. I try to make do with whatever I want to search by using google search by using "bitcointalk.org" in quotes. It usually works. When I have to search my inbox I try to use common vowel letters. That usually pulls up the required content almost 9 out of 10 times.
1212  Local / India / Re: List of exchanges in India [updated] on: February 21, 2019, 04:13:53 PM
Not sure why you've posted this website link in Indian section of the forum? I don't see any utility for Indians here!

I think because XCh4nge is a localbitcoin wannabe. Everyone knows how crucial a p2p platform like lbc is crucial to the economies where cryptos are still not officially accepted.
1213  Local / India / Re: Project Translations in Hindi are a waste of money! on: February 21, 2019, 04:10:24 PM
Helo
I not agree with it those who really interested in the project they check each and everything.

It doesn't matter if you agree or not. My opinion is not based on your agreement, it is based on facts.

...People generally do not use shudh hindi so translating them will not be fruitful as expected.
As earlier stated by fellow member basically in Southern India people are reluctant to converse/interact in National language .

On point, about the shudh Hindi. However, people don't speak shudh hindi anymore either.
And its not about reluctance, have you ever tried to learn the southern languages? say for Tamil for instance? I have, unsuccessfully. The vernacularity, word structure, bending of the tongue everything is different, they simply unable to speak Hindi - let alone any northern languages.
1214  Local / India / Re: Help translate bitcoin.org into Hindi on: February 21, 2019, 04:01:23 PM
...translate bitcoin.org into Hindi ..

Why just hindi?

Why not : Bengali, Gujrati, Malaylam, Tamil, Kannada, Koshur, Assamese, Meitei & Kukichin (Manipuri), Lushai (Mizo), Nagamese and a host of Arunachal Languages like - Mongpa, Adi, Apatani, Nishi, Nocte.. ?
Are these people less Indian ?

The answer to this question was solved in consensus while crafting the Indian constitution and naming ENGLISH AS THE OFFICIAL language.

Any translation to Hindi is useless especially (and perhaps only) when considering anything related to cryptocurrency.

Hi Guys, Since my account here in this forum is a newbie for now. i can't post some pictures of our mobile app to enhance our advertising here. As of now i just gather some experience here in this forum so i can be able to provide some pictures so the other users won't hesitate and fear that our website link/mobile app is dangerous. Thanks for your replies and hoping that i would be able to promote our app using this forum.

lol that'll be quite some time. Its incredibly hard for anyone to rank up these days.
However, you can invest a li'l amount of money and get a copper membership. You'd be able to post pictures then.
1216  Local / India / Re: When did you buy your first bitcoin? on: February 21, 2019, 03:40:36 PM
My first coin was back in 2011, but I bought for the first time in late 2012. Makes no difference as I didn't hold on to any of it.

My first bitcoin buy was in 2016 september and I'm still regretting about that I did not sell my bitcoins at 20000$ still I believe that it will cross it's ath sometimes and that's why I hold my bitcoins.

This has happened with many people who had entered at high value and thinking that it will continue to rise end up either selling in loss or need to hold til that price is achieved. Greed is something which if not control can case heavy losses at time.

See, there are many kinds of investment strategies but principally if you talk about the general population who don't much technical info in trading will tell you that there is only one strategy. Buy low sell high.
But that's the easiest one and practice it is impossible for any newcomer to find and identify the neckline in the trading curve.

There is another form of investment popularised by Richard Driehaus -who's considered the father of momentum investing.
Here, you simply buy high and sell higher. You have to focus on riding the wave and selling the losses and reinvest the losses in another stock. In traditional investing you'd eventually run out of "other stocks" to invest in, hence the lack of popularity for this strategy, but in crypto you have a gamut of choices you can invest in where the money will almost definitely rise .. eventually.
You just have to have balls of steel.
1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Metamask has passed 1 million users on Chrome store - on: February 21, 2019, 03:25:53 PM
That usercount only represents number of installs/downloads. Not the number of active / recurring users.
For instance, Bitcointalk also has thousands of accounts, but it would be wrong to assume that all of them are operated by "revolutionary crypto supporters' .. some are just dumb plebs.
1218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The best crypto exchange on: February 21, 2019, 03:23:30 PM
Which crypto exchange and use for tokens? (ERC-20 standard)

Not only your question makes little to no sense, it is also pointless. But there are also literally hundreds of exchanges out there, use google, see trustpilot reviews find your own answer.
Most replies you get here would be shilling for exchanges to which people are already biased to or they're doing it simply to get paid for their posts.
1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to access myetherwallet with keystore file now? on: February 21, 2019, 03:19:56 PM
snip
New interface from MEW looks great but it feels too much of details when compared to old one,in the previous one we only get the simple steps with just words on it.

But for accessing the wallet you need to have the backup of file. Cheesy

If anyone is too fond of MEW they could get a backup of their wallet from any other wallet service (offline/online) and then import it into MEW again - this is assuming they didn't back it up from MEW's old interface in the first place.

Also I addressed the issue about the looks on another reply to someone else :
Yup, Etherscan and Myetherwallet both were updated to a sleeker looking version. However, I find the new design not easy to get used to. I didn't like the old design but I don't love the new one either. Who knows maybe it'll take some getting used to...

Is the card still available? Are you capable of shipping to India? Have you ever OC'd it?

You didn't upload the pictures yet, maybe you have sold them already??

Do let me know.
