I am happy to announce that blockchain is moving again (currently @ height 637095). Assuming you have synced your node using published bootstrap, shut down your node, make sure it's down, remove peers.dat, remove all addnode/connect entries from your 8bit.conf and add to your 8bit.conf following seed nodes: connect=node00.8-bit.ga connect=node01.8-bit.ga connect=node02.8-bit.ga connect=node03.8-bit.ga connect=node04.8-bit.ga connect=node05.8-bit.ga connect=node06.8-bit.ga connect=node07.8-bit.ga connect=node08.8-bit.ga connect=node09.8-bit.ga connect=node10.8-bit.ga connect=node11.8-bit.ga connect=node12.8-bit.ga connect=node13.8-bit.ga connect=node14.8-bit.ga connect=node15.8-bit.ga connect=node17.8-bit.ga connect=node18.8-bit.ga connect=node19.8-bit.ga connect=node20.8-bit.ga connect=node21.8-bit.ga connect=node22.8-bit.ga connect=node22.8-bit.ga connect=node23.8-bit.ga connect=node24.8-bit.ga connect=node25.8-bit.ga
This list is updated automatically so make sure you will add all entries. IPv6 nodes will be provided soon.

On the other hand though, it looks like I will sync even later than I expected, as the blockchain moves forward together with me syncing... One another question... shouldn't there be "addnode=" instead of "connect="? Or "connect" is used to ensure the wallet will not pickup any other source except listed ones?

Yes, "connect" is intentional.

I suppose Cryptopia is on the wrong fork, as they did not sync from the official bootstrap.dat. Someone has to contact Cryptopia, Bittrex, Yobit and all other exchanges to update...

Who is someone? Let's remind him to do it. Good question. Yobit tends to ignore requests, Bittrex is about to delist 8bit, as the whales do not want to protect their investment by doing some trades. Cryptopia... I am personally in not so good relations with Cryptopia owners (don't know how to talk to them, we seem to be thinking too differently). But can notify them for sure. Anyone (for example tomsmith26, as Cryptopia user) is welcome to do that too. Lets make sure the blockchain is alive, and what we can do further. My wallet still is sync-ing... Guys (the one who have synched) - do you see any masternode running?

Bittrex is back on track, however due to forks, many of deposits have been rolled back. We have to return them 15166.92518510 8BITs to get wallets re-open. This is really small fraction of money supply so it's definitely not a problem to cover those rollbacks. This is a great opportunity for us to prove that there is a community here. This is also an input for me if any further works here make sense. Because it takes too long and also I guess noone needs this check takes forever I suggested (to Bittrex) very short time frame to cover loss - till Monday 8PM GMT.
Bittrex address is: 8P2xp1djvUCMYKi5yZb3XRgHMWu1UvheNp
If you want to donate, but you are not sure if you will resync before deadline, let us know here, for sure someone can lend you a coins. If you want to donate bigger amount, but only if others fail, PM me.
That should be obvious, but let's be explicit: no complete funds recovery means the end of 8BIT. Dont't screw it up folks.

This is not too small portion. It is about 2% of the total supply. But as I doubt everyone will give even 2% of his stake, few people have to give much more. I suppose very big amounts are locked in the wallets of folks who do not even participate anymore, and maybe even forgot about the existence of 8BIT (tinkles, orestes, dbt1033, many others who had input here and supposedly had many coins). We need to call them back, they might want to help, but that needs a lot of time. Because it takes too long and also I guess noone needs this check takes forever I suggested (to Bittrex) very short time frame to cover loss - till Monday 8PM GMT.
This is clearly a mistake. Many people are on weekends, others are not checking the thread daily (especially taking into account there was nothing to see here for months). Even "skidog" and "allzuckedup" don't seem to check thread over the weekend. Even if we actively contact and call everyone, it will take few weeks to collect people. Then again, the most are not synched, I doubt tere are more than a coulple people who had synched at the moment. I hope this mistake could be fixed, and Bittrex could be asked to give this coin few weeks grace period. If you want to donate, but you are not sure if you will resync before deadline, let us know here, for sure someone can lend you a coins. If you want to donate bigger amount, but only if others fail, PM me.
I am not synced still. And I suppose there aren't synched people with enough number of coins. I personally am ready to donate 500 8BIT, which is way more than 2% of my holdings (I told many times I am not a big stakeholder). Can donate out of my wallet on Bittrex, if that is an option. That should be obvious, but let's be explicit: no complete funds recovery means the end of 8BIT.
This is very true!! I don't even understand what folks with coins on Bittrex are hoping for. As soon as Bittrex delists 8BIT, they will lose every single coin, as it will not be even possible to move them out of Bittrex. I suppose most did not even read the thread yet. BTW, people might be waiting an official confirmation from Bittrex (Ricthie) here, to confirm all the said above and also confirm the donation wallet address.

Feel free to contact Bittrex and convince them to your ideas. From my point of view all your arguments about amount and deadline are tenuous, sorry.

There is no need to argue... Just see this as an example of what I tell: Name: allZuckedUp Posts: 151 Activity: 151 Position: Full Member Date Registered: June 17, 2013, 08:59:58 AM Last Active: October 06, 2016, 10:11:53 PM Name: skidog Posts: 1030 Activity: 924 Position: Legendary Date Registered: December 09, 2013, 05:51:31 PM Last Active: October 07, 2016, 08:21:33 AM Both were last active before your announcement. I believe others check this thread even less often. Community is dormant (if it exists at all) and needs time to be awakened. Anyway, lets see, not much time left. I expect many people appear several days/weeks/months after deadline and express their perplexity here...

We cannot wait for those two guys, because we do not know how long we would have to. I fully respect them, appreciate their activity and I am also sure that they can participate - if they wish - in recovery costs later (i.e. by sending some coins to those who paid on time). This is public ledger.

drays is absolutely correct, I've been unavailable all weekend. JUST got back from spending all weekend more than 50 miles from wireless signal of any kind... (Outside Moab, Utah, USA... I highly suggest it!)
Sooo, of course I'm happy to help...
My wallet I will donate from has been syncing all weekend, and I've got a few months left to go. I'll be happy to donate as soon as I can. (I'd guess it'll be very ready by morning tomorrow)
Either by public response, or PM: 8-bit-party, can you tell me how close we are to the needed number with the donations do far?

This is not a secret as this is public address and synced block explorer is online, currently we have collected 9926 8BITs. I also receive PMs from people willing to donate but still being syncing so I believe we will meet the deadline.
