According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

its 21:18 where he lives so i dont think he is a sleep been online 6 hours ago

hmm maybe Poland? I'm in Poland and same time here...

also in last post they joking about PLN (polish currency)

the real joke is that they are now converting all the BTC they stole into Euro's to spend on hookers and blow.

Lets first give this guy or people the chance to give a answer... Fud is always easy to create, and a lot of good coins are being destroyed because of some FUD.

FACT:

Bittrex identify that there was a big block generated of 3.3M
Bittrex reviewed the code BEFORE listing BT and didn't find anything strange.
Bittrex cannot confirm that this was a bug or if dev write this code in that one to generate this massive 3.3M block

SPECULATION:

DEV created that block and dump it on us, and ran away

WHAT NEXT:

1. DEV comes online and say, ok there was a bug in the code, we will fork and only use fix blocks. Everything fixed.
2. DEV doesn't come online anymore. Pure scam, nothing else we can do.
3. DEV doesn't come online anymore. Pure scam. Community takeover? There were a few good ones like VOOT, BLUE, BANK were good community take over for some time (but that applies to all coins, for some time)

Sorry for the long silence, it takes time to sort out things like this.  As per our usual response, if we detect something wrong with a blockchain where the dev _might_ be involved, I like to post a public statement so everyone has the same information at the same time.  Exchanges were informed earlier today when our security measures kicked off.

There seems to be a problem with the "lucky" staking code from what we can tell at this time.  There are blocks that were accepted with POS rewards up to 3.3M which is why outside the rate for the coin.  Additionally, as of right now there are way more coins in existence than the wallet thinks there should be:

    "balance" : 24751980.90800208,
    "stake" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 4655,
    "timeoffset" : 0,
    "moneysupply" : 21073266.40374496,

This is our current supply.  C-Cex and yobit have another combined 5-6M.  At this time, we don't know if this is malicious or an error in the staking code.  We have cancelled all orders on the market and closed the wallet for the time being.  If the devs can please contact us and come up with a solution, we will reopen the market.  If we an agreed solution cannot be agreed upon, we will close the market and open the wallet for withdrawal only.

thanks,
richie@bittrex
That seems like another coin with broken PoS thing, check here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1001062.msg10956175#msg10956175

I bet those 2 coins's dev are related.

Why do you guys keep falling for this crap... week after week ?

Heck. I still think the paycoin SCAM was worse. It hurt a lot more people. This was a least a quick death

Paycoin took down $miilions.

I am getting sick of this crap. It is killing the community.

Interesting concept. Sidechains. 2.0 technology. All great.
But: 21.000.000.000 coins for +1000sat or even +500sat?
DGB has same amount and is now 55sat
Take care people when/if (?) BT will be back on exchanges.

It's 21.000.000 BT + ~6.750.000 stake + unknown amount stake bug.

No, you Pmed me with question what to do with your 220k.
I said I won't give any advices for free now. Coz when ppl has profit they NEVER thanks me then. If they have loss they ALWAYS blames me.
Then you said you lost with LUX and I decided to share with you info about pump for free. This pump was PLANNED. And not me, not pumper didn't know about this error with POS.
As I said I dumped to rebuy. I bought 50k and market was disabled. If I bought 500K before market disable, then I will lost this ~2.5 BTC now.

Yes and pumper now sits with million of this fail. I can't tell his nickname coz I promised do not tell, then he will block me I don't wanna lose contacts with him.

Damn. It's a MARKET, not a PROFIT-GENERATOR. Don't ask any advices if you can't understand this.
I didn't push you to waste 8 BTC, all I said expecting new pump. That's all. I didn't said BUY BUY BUY quickly as you can. You made your own decision.

A Better thing to do is:  Go to buy a 0.05btc of CINdercoin before to be late, known dev, established coin, 114M coin supply until now, ~130Mtotal and the price is still 30sat, I think this coin will be big.

The exchange should compensate those who lost money. If so, it would be far more careful to add coins scam.

Useless. This is not first time when coin fails. Not a single exchange will not compensate anything.
