Why do we need auroracoin? well one of the reason is the endless amount of scandals and corruption in our government and politics. While the nation of Iceland is held in financial restrains our "1%" is cleaning out.

Latest leak in Iceland is that 3 minister including our financial minister and prime minister are linked to offshore accounts and tax havens. Same people that preach to the common man here in Iceland that our currency (the krona) is the chosen one and we can not  buy or use foreign fiat. The list that is being leaked holds over 200 names linked to various politicians and connected partners.

Here below are all the media outlets in Iceland covering this and this is just the tip of the iceberg, more to be revealed later this week

This is bad.  But still a very good timing for our april 26th campaign start.  Positive anger will drive this project a lot: enough is enough, and I feel this anger big time.  Bandits/bankster/corrupedppl are the same in all country.  We have to start somewhere, now more then ever.

After our meeting with Aurarad board I was even more convinced that the People of Iceland would embrace Auroracoin. This news about the scandalous politicians involved in offshore frauds multiplied that believe! I suggest you buckle up guys, it's going to be a ride!

Ok, so here we are. We have Auroracoin on one side, offering Icelanders a true and transparent monetary system that can't be rigged like ISK. We create an opportunity to finally trade with an honest system that most Icelanders have been longing for for almost a century!

Want to see what's on the other side?

Now I don't know about you, but my bet is on "aur" side  Grin

How about using that "swiss bank account in your pocket" meme coined by Obama?

Remove the peers.dat after upgrade and try again. It should pick up the network instantly.

Hi,

thank you for the info.
I have done what you said but it would still not sync.
To me it looks like that nobody has switched to the new wallet yet.

This is what i found in the debug log.....

1030000 is the original wallet. 2000000 is the first release the new team did.  3000000 is the newest wallet.

Deleting the peers.dat file and a fresh start on the client should have done the trick.  You could always add nodes to your conf file.  Here is a list of a few clients on protocol version 3000000 connected to the seed node I monitor:

80.248.18.176
37.97.135.213
87.213.74.218
5.23.88.112
80.236.18.96
98.115.147.74
136.243.71.152

If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, you add the line "addnode=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" to your auroracoin.conf file, replacing the x's with an IP.

Fuse, all of this happens with a fresh install of the wallet with no blockchain downloaded and no peers.dat. I dont have any connectivity issues otherwise.
Going to try the addnodes and see what happens.

Using the addnodes gave me instant connection.

You guys should consider that people who never had this wallet are going to have connectivity issues without the addnodes.

That's why you're seeing the following line in the debug.log file:

2016-03-31 23:31:40 4 addresses found from DNS seeds

We've added hardcoded DNS seeds to the wallet.  I would make sure you don't have any kind of firewall or AV issues at play here.  On the numerous fresh client, and even OS, installs I did during testing, I didn't have any issues connecting to an initial node.

I'd be interested in seeing the full debug.log file if you still had it from the first start.  If you could pastebin it and PM me a link, I'll take a look at it to see if there's anything odd in there.
