I think any attempt to peg a cryptocurrency to either fiat or another commodity is doomed to failure. Even the BoE couldn't keep GBP in the ERM. Not to mention that if a crypto is pegged to fiat, then you might as well own the fiat!

George you should consider dumping your Gulden and that project your involved with and come do it for AUR, this way you get to keep 50% of the btc there community put in? There is a lot more btc to be made here if you recognise the price jumped 4 * within a 2 week tineframe.

Perhaps I might misinterpret your message, but what you're basically ask, if I am willing to run away with half the money of everyone participating?

I do not know if you know what project Hybrid, or Guldenshares, is about, but it's definitely not about making some btc's. It's a long term project about supporting Gulden on multiple fronts, like proving buy-support on the market(s), and at the same time providing hashes on the blockchain. Everyone can join this project, by purchasing shares which enables it to expand; and the Guldens that Hybrid is accumulating, are being flowed back towards it's participants, the shareholders.



If I am willing to such for Aurora as well? Perhaps, but there are quite likely some obstacles to that. Firstly, I have a wish to remain anonymous to a certain degree. I earned my marks within the Gulden community, which enabled the project to take off; but here, I'm a newbie known by very few. Lay such next to the recent scam and scam attempts recently, and I doubt such will help.

Though, LTEX has knowledge of how the project is basically working. I do not know to which extends, but in one of our latest communications, he confirmed achieving results in using such same method. A similar system can easily be setup for Aurora and it's community, but I doubt I would be the person to do or ask such; here, I'm a newbie with no marks earned, whilst LTEX is a respected member and has at least the same basic knowledge on the how-to...

I really don't know what guldencoin stands for. A social experiment? A political one?
From who they want to break for? From euro? I really don't understand why it's needed in the first place.
As for auroracoin I wish that will always be perceived as a mechanism for „breaking the shackles of fiat currency”. With no politics involved. Nothing more than something like a natural force. A string of bits, carrying around value in a secured way.

One more week to start of busstop campaign! Exciting times ahead folks!

Currently we are working on a detailed marketing plan that involves real commercials in Iceland. We are (rather soon) going to start a campaign with huge posters in all 100 bus terminals around Reykjavik, which will look like this:

The terminals have over 5 million driveby's a week! This means that in one week most people have become familiar with our logo and name. It also makes Auroracoin something that is real. Once we start unfolding our releases to the press people in Iceland are going to say "Hey, I saw that at the busstop before" Rather then "Hmmm, some internet thing from a couple of nerds".

I hope you will not be offended by a suggestion from a mere foreigner, but would it not be wise to include a (very large) QR code linking to the Aurora website, so that people standing at a bus-stop (or just walking by) can scan it with their phones and gain some information about AUR 'on the spot' ?

This of course was discussed but the fact is that if anything else would be on the poster it would be a different strategy than we are currently taking. The idea is that we are not trying to sell people anything on the spot. We are just there and the logo and name will sync into peoples subconscious and that is what we are aiming for. Fine if people get curious and want to know more they will google and find us I have no worries about that.

But the campaign will first make it's impact when they see the logo on the biggest news websites or on the evening news that will follow the opening of the Exchange and other promotional efforts we are planing. Then people will give more attention to the news as it will trigger something in their mind. On top of that they will absorb the news with a more open mind and more trust for the brand as it's been lingering in their mind without people knowing it. So that is the main purpose of the campaign. We will have tons of other opportunities to get people to check out more information about Auroracoin and this campaign will make those opportunities more successful.

This is not the extent of our plans to promote Auroracoin, it's merely the beginning.

I work at a large Dutch financial company on the South axis of Amsterdam and promoting this kind of technology requires a bit more than bus stop posters and press releases. One might even say that the team that I am a part of is heavily invested from a know-how stand point in blockchain as it is, just hadn't noticed this project before. One of the perks of being a member is knowing quite a bit about the industry as a whole, promoting said financial products isn't easy. How is this project doing amongst early adopters/tech-fiends/cryptocurrency world in general? It's going to be quite hard to convince regular folks of the 'Why' and to put their trust into something like Auroracoin. Wish you all the best though, hope it works out!
