Verification of full node statusIn case y’all ain’t already seen it, last November S.D. Lerner posted Proof of unique blockchain storage, in which he proposes a solution for the issue: “Can a user verify if peers have a distinct copy of the blockchain and that that copy is intact?” Cheers Graham You always find the best links and papers, thanks!

Do you guys still work on the proof-of-bitcoin-nodes? I haven't followed the topic for a while.

Spread Project Weekly Update #418th September 2015Team Meeting UpdateIn light of the recent acknowledgement that development progress has been slow, a core team meeting was held on 14th September. A total of 11 priority deliverables were identified and the top five priorities are listed here:
Priority | Deliverable | Owner | Timeframe | 1 | Servicenodes / PoBN | georgem | Servicenodes in Testnet: 21/10/215. PoBN: End of 2015 | 2 | Official Block Explorer | chaositec | 21/10/2015 | 3 | Openstream Site (Big Data Market) | Stonehedge | From 24th Sept (started but on hold) | 4 | Fundraising | Coins101 / Stonehedge | From 14th Sept (underway) | 5 | Finalise Preview Wallet Release | georgem | TBC |
Some significant issues were identified during the course of the meeting. The most critical issues are interlinked and detailed below:
Issue | Resolution | The development of servicenodes has not progressed at the necessary pace. | The core team discussed all outstanding tasks, helped the development team prioritise deliverables and the non-development team members have assumed responsibility for as many priority tasks as possible. | The development team require day jobs which means that time to spend on the Spreadcoin project is limited. | Coins101 and Stonehedge are exploring options for funding the development team. Several mechanisms for funding have been identified. |
The above priorities and issues were agreed unanimously. The hiring of an extra developer has not been ruled out but it was agreed that it would not be beneficial at this time. Blockchain2020The Spreadcoin team are excited to announce a venture called Blockchain2020 which will be a sequence of Blockchain themed events to be hosted internationally in the build up to the next Bitcoin block halving day in 2016. Planning for the first events is already progressing at pace with venues being booked and sponsors already expressing interest. More information can be found here http://blockchain2020.com/. Blockchain2020 is a Bitcoin community project that will form part of the Openstream data market. All excess revenues from annual Blockchain conferences, after costs are covered and seed investors are compensated, will be distributed to people running full Bitcoin nodes. Any fees generated from running Blockchain workshops will go to funding Spread development work and topping up payments to servicenodes or the SatoshiNakamoto van gen competition. Decisions about disbursements of excess funds from workshops will be for the community to decide. http://blockchain2020.com/blockchain/full-nodes/- Stonehedge

to the google! I don't know, but every forum markup language seems to always be confusing and frustrating. Also, I'd highly recommend switching to the ISO 8601 date and time format YYYYMMDD https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601keep up the good work!

they don't work like html tables, since you are not allowed to define widths (neither in percentages nor pixels)... so they will always look weird.

I prefer when the time is displayed as DD Month YYYY, or maybe DD-MM-YYYY. I don't know to which ISO it refers to. as far as i know, there is only 1 iso standard refering to date / time, and that is ISO 8601, there are different revisions of it,but thats about it.. the problem is, there is so many ways different countries express the date, that they ended up making that ISO standard, now some countries do DDMMYY(YY) (fx denmark) some do MMDDYY(YY) (i think it was either UK or US cant remember) some do (YY)YYMMDD (fx sweden) and i think it was 2 or so doing (YY)YYDDMM now all these would, in our day and age, only add to alot of confusion, that is why the standard was purposed, and defined.

Seated first row to test on multiple x64 systems, let us know when they're replaced! Keep up the good work team! Thanks. I am doing a few small improvements before I'll make the final builds. You can follow it here: https://github.com/spreadcoin/spreadcoin/commits/newwalletAlso: I will give this Version a new Number: CLIENT_VERSION_MAJOR 0 CLIENT_VERSION_MINOR 9 CLIENT_VERSION_REVISION 16 CLIENT_VERSION_BUILD 1 I decided to move up a whole Revision Nr, since the wallet now looks and behaves so completely different than before. We can count a few build-versions up from here, and make the first working ServiceNode-Iteration a Revision Nr. 17 when we are ready... Stay tuned.

Alright. All builds are finished. New official Version is now 0.9.16.1I replaced the old links with the new ones, so just use the official download links to get the newest wallet-versions (and daemons): http://www.spreadcoin.info/downloads.phpList of new features/updates: - Better implementation of Fallbacknodes (react quicker, and more of them available), so you'll probably never need to addNode in conf file ever again. - Better control of vanitygen (you can use DELETE-Key to erase VanGen-Patterns you don't need anymore and RETURN key to add a VanGen-Pattern, meaning you don't need to click "add pattern" anymore while you type, this makes adding many patterns very easy.) - Version Nr is now visible in splashscreen and header. - removed a few layout bugs (depending on what linux system you used (KDE, GNOME) it had problems showing the nativeMenu-Bar (or the menubar within the window) correctly). - minor improvements and removements of old unneeded stuff. Let me know if everything works. Thanks, and stay tuned for more. PS Donations are highly welcomed.

Thanks alot. I am highly motivated and momentum is here. Currently I am working on slightly improving the website, I need a place to show "News" and "Blogposts"... what good is a website without news-section, lol. It will look something like this: There will be a news-reel that leads to a wordpress powered blog. I should have it finished in a day or two, so that future news are better handled.
