Convert your videos on demand?
Interesting... how about video streaming? Live and archived? How would that work? That's bandwidth intense, and bandwidth is still far from free, specially for video hungry apps!

Yes, video streaming as in "creating a decentralized youtube" would require us to have a very profitble businessplan in place. I can't imagine right now what that would be...

But as a first step, maybe something like a decentralized imgur.com (file-hosting for pictures) could be worth it.

I always imagine what would happen if imgur.com suddenly went offline and took like half of the internet's pics with it.

Scary thought!

That's why we need to replace those giant centralized entitites and put them on a blockchain secured network.

Yep, community finally learning what happened with the creator of spreadcoin is apparently very important.

BTW, that's what a fat version of this hamster would look like:

So Mr. Spread is definitely NOT fat.
Just well built!  Grin

In males, the body weight ranges from 19 grams (0.67 oz) to 45 grams (1.6 oz), and in females, 19 grams (0.67 oz) to 36 grams (1.3 oz)

So... he's definitely outside of the norm.... but not looking fat.  Huh

SpreadCoin was fairly launched on 29 July 2014, 9:00 UTC with no premine.
Wow > 14 months - this looks like it could be another long-term survivor.

What are the reasons for the current price movement?

Thanks!

Just my humble opinion but the project is starting to gain some proper momentum and we're starting to get better at structuring our work.  Coins101 has been doing some sterling work around PR and people are starting to notice what the potential of a decentralised service network could be.

Looking at the activity on Bittrex closely I think one person is trying to build a bag of Spreadcoins but not many people are willing to sell hence the periodically rising price.  Just a guess though.

Anybody got any better theories?

Discovered what may be a typo in the WP. On page 46, second to last paragraph - "With Bitcoin nodes approach 10,000, these node numbers would yield more valuable...pockets of regional financial activities."

I'm assuming an "ing" was missing after approach.  Grin

That's great, thanks.

The WP is still a 'draft' because we need to get general feedback. The bulk of the work was also done in June and part of July, and with the blockchain debate still unresolved we want to have some flexibility to update the WP before issuing a final version. The main approach won't change, just details around the edgers.

PM your addy for a bug bounty of 101 SPR. If you don't claim it, I'll send it to the devs.

Sent to devs on your behalf.

Thanks.  Cool

If you dive into the white paper, this reaction is 100% what we are thinking will happen:

https://forum.gethashing.com/t/interesting-bitcoin-articles/826/41

People getting interested in home mining again, by the thousands. That's where decentralisation happens.

No, thank you! Super pumped for this project. Hating Circle right now because it takes so long to get BTC to buy SPR.  Tongue

Bitcoin nodes down to around 5,000.

maybe something to do with this:
"Last week, an unknown actor sent a deluge of spam that left bitcoin's nodes – the clients that store and relay transactions – with upwards of 88,000, or 1GB worth, waiting in their collective memory pool."

I want to set-up an OTC market for new private investors.

If you have SPR you might want to sell, please PM. I'm looking at setting up private OTC deals with an SPR market cap range of $100k to $300k. You will need to agree to escrow and we are looking at starting this in Nov running through to April - April being the end of the current tax year in the UK.

No promises with these things. We need to have a liquid or funded market first, before we can have a proper conversation with investors. Some investors may only deal with fiat and this could be their first look at crypto, so there could be some complications we'll need to overcome along the way.

PM please.

edit

The reason for this OTC target level is the thin liquidity on Trex.

Are servicenodes going up on the testnet in a few days? If I recall correctly Oct. 21st was a target date for that.  Cheesy
