If you said that to some government officials the answer would be: why are you worried about only law enforcement having guns? They're here to protect you.
Why do you want to have a gun yourself? Are you planning to attack the government?
I wish our laws in Europe allowed people to use guns for protection. To get a gun you have to be a policeman, a soldier, a security officer, or a hunter. It's very hard for a normal person to get a permit.

For how long that right will remain with you? With every passing year, the anti-guns lobby is getting stronger and stronger. It is just a matter of time before stricter restrictions (such as those in countries such as Australia and the United Kingdom) are implemented in the United States. If a Democrat candidate is elected in 2020, then that could be a turning point.

I expect European gun laws to loosen up by necessity as the police will increasingly have difficulty protecting the civilian population. It is truly bizarre to me that people thinks its acceptable to rely on a 30-40 minute response time from law enforcement to deal with islamic butcherers. Whiles we are always complaining about gun violence, we should bear in mind that it's does who have access to guns without the necessary documentation are the ones who commit these crimes, If the government in turn decides to keep the citizens from getting guns they are going to end up slaughtered by the criminals with guns.

Guns are very dangerous.
Only strong coutries can controll it, like USA, Canada, germany ... because they have a good police and a good army.
But in the developping countries, where the guns shouldn't be legalized, it will be a disaster if guns are in the street.

Guns shouldnt be sold to the public, we just cant be sure what a person can do if he/she has a gun in his/her hands. The person might not be stable enough to handle such a violent thing. If guns are to be sold to the public then the buyer must be carefully surveyed, just to make sure that the gun that is to be selled is in good hands.

Well, why should guns be sold to the public anyway? Does the buyer have any valid reason and purpose for having such a thing? A person that buys guns that hasnt got anything to do with his profession is solely bought for the purpose of killing.. and buying guns for safety isnt a valid reason for having them.

Guns should be for cops, someone who has authority and has a purpose in using them.

Guns are made for one purpose, and that purpose is to kill.
I believe that guns are not weapons, they are tools. How they are used is up to the person holding it.
Guns are especially dangerous in the hands of people who don't know how to use them (i.e., kids and teenagers) as well as those who are mentally ill and/or have a temper problem.
Gun control will not stop violence because a violent person doesn’t need a gun to be violent.
After the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, support for gun control increased dramatically.

If I wrote this law, then a few things were there reflected. In - first complete verification of man that wants to purchase a weapon. Verification must conducted maximally meticulously. In - second I would check his near relation. There can be it helped in the folded situation.

I'm a hardcore supporter of gun control. I don't think carrying gun individually is the right way of protecting ourselves. It is rather one of the main reasons of public violance. We can not trust people to carry guns only to protect themselves. Unfortunately we are not there yet as humanity.

Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer (D) addressed the August 12 car attack that killed Heather Heyer, suggesting it highlights the need to limit concealed carry.

He said he supports the Second Amendment, and is even “friends with many gun owners,” but he thinks more restrictions are necessary following the rally in which a car attack took an innocent life.

According to the Atlantic, Signer said, “While I am…a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, that right, like all Constitutional rights, comes with limits.” He then said, “Just as machine guns cannot be owned by civilians in this country…it should not be acceptable to open-carry or concealed-carry firearms at an event of the sort we saw last weekend.”

Wow. Someone in the mayor’s circle needs to tell him or his speech-writing team that there is no federal ban on machine gun ownership in the U.S., so long as the guns were manufactured pre-1986. In fact, machine guns are widely owned. There are states that ban ownership of machine guns, but law-abiding citizens who can afford a machine can most certainly–and most legally–own and shoot one in a state than does not prohibit ownership.

But the most egregious move was the mayor’s jump from machine guns to concealed carry (I thought he said he was “a strong supporter of the Second Amendment?”). Think about it; in a rally where not a single shot was fired—where the fatal attack was carried out with a vehicle—the Charlottesville Mayor finds reason to limit concealed carry of firearms and curtail the open carry of firearms as well.

Concealed carry needs to be limited to EVERYBODY!

As long as only a few people have guns, they won't respect any of those who don't... except if they want to.

Nobody is going to live forever. Live longer by open carry and concealed carry at the same time. This way the few suicide terrorists among us will die. But the rest of the terrorists will respect us all enough to avoid attempting to use their guns inappropriately.

FL Man Defends Himself After Car Break-In With AK

She woke her husband to tell him, the moment so many gun owners secretly dread. He then reportedly got up, had her secure their children, and went out to confront the three men who were breaking into their car outside.

However, this Florida man wasn't the dolt that has become synonymous with the phrase "Florida man" in recent years. He knew there was a 9mm pistol in the car, and he went out to confront the burglars armed with AK-47.

The incident unfolded around 2:45 a.m. when the homeowner's wife was awakened by noises outside of their home. The woman then woke her husband, who looked outside and observed three suspects breaking into the family's vehicles.

The man, who knew a 9mm handgun was in one of the vehicles, told his wife to watch over their children and ensure their safety as he grabbed an AK-47 and confronted the suspects.

If you are a hardcore supporter of gun control, then I am a hardcore supporter of gun rights. Imagine what could have happened in Charlottesville, if some of those protesters had guns with them. They could have stopped the car even before the driver could injure anyone.

Gun control is an effective law if it is strictly implemented and followed because as we can see there are still a lot of people owning guns without license because they can buy it anywhere.

The gun control idea is right for you if you decide that it is right for you. You are welcome to ban all guns that you consider dangerous for you and your family. That is freedom.

Legalization and "illegalization," (gun control by Government) has to do with taking away freedom from people. The freedom issue is way more important than the gun issue.
