Basically because of IPL now there are lot of talent available for selectors so if some one not playing good and do not have any recommendation in selection department then they will easily lose the chance. In my view Zimbabwe are back on to their Andy flower and Grand flower period. There are looking more disciplined now a days after Pakistan and Ireland series. Continuously playing within home conditions will make a team more strong and raise their self-belief.

Yes, Sehwag was good player but he was never a good consistent player and was famous for big hits and no can predict whether any particular match he score big runs or not. Yes. Indian players are nt good enough to do better than South Africans. The new power play rules are much harder for Indian teams as they have failed to score more after 40 fours with their middle order batsmen. Agreed with you that the IPL can not be the only platform for providing the talent and grooming the players. But there are already 50 overs tournaments in india which are organized by BCCI and they are doing well. Deodhar trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Corporate trophy are the main 50 overs tournaments which are organised by BCCI from many years.
