As our colegue here already said, IPL is made purely for money, not for patriotism.
Yeah it is for money , tthe more you hit sixes and fours the more you are paid in thousand(per six) ,I have seen Players not performing well in ODIs but hitting like iron in IPL , all is about money. There is huge money in IPL, if you played a single IPL season then you will earn more than what you earn from entire year by playing for your national side. Players don't want to disappoint their franchise so they have to perform to retain their place in squad. Some players have to maintain their reputation so they gave their 100 % in this shorter format of game. Players are playing good in ipl matches not to please their franchise because if they don't perform well in next auction their price tag will be reduced so they are forced to play well in these ipl matches. But same players not giving good performances in test or one day matches. Yes, you are right. It is also one of the reason which forced players to perform well in Indian Premier League, if they don't perform then there are many players who are just sitting on the bench and ready to take their place. Other International players who are currently not included in their national side, these players are also wants to prove their self and to show their respective board that they are still in form and can perform well if get selected. |

Right now they are like a Bangladesh team which was before 10 years and they are improving a lot, they have already proven in recent world cup and other t20 tournaments. Also UAE is making improvement in their performance, they have improved their batting and bowling areas. I hope that after 10 years these two team will be just like Bangladesh which will be great for asian cricket. |

So you are thinking ipl is the only one cricket event in world so you are focusing only on ipl still plenty of good event happening Ashes is my favorite series and i also like cricket matches between Australia and New Zealand. |

You are right, fixing is not only limited to IPL. There are many cricket boards who are running their T20 tournaments with the approval of ICC. In these tournaments there are many domestic players who can be easily get into the trap of bookies for money and other luxury gifts. Bookies also concentrate only on domestic players than international players and nowdays fixing is easily possible via spot fixing. |

There are many cricket events between two nations and ICC events which involves all the teams. I still enjoy Ashes, what a great series between Australia and England, people still watching such test matches with the full house stadium. Matches of India, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka and new entry Bangladesh are fun to watch. I agree that there is and will be fixing in IPL and other similar tournaments, these money making tournaments are just for fun and entertainment. |
