I believe both bitcoin and dollar will continue to exist. The existence of dollars make bitcoin real to every body. People could exchange bitcoin for dollars and use that to spend for their needs. Infact dollars existence will boost bitcoin trading and bitcoin will continue to spread from Country to countries.

The full replacement of dollar with bitcoin would require so many change in the society that there is no way it will happen in a reasonable future. But this doesn't mean it's impossible, so... we'll see.

It will not going to happen, 15 years is just a short period of time, give it 100 years and I will agree with those statements. If dollars replace with bitcoin then it will affect not only the dollars but also other currencies too, how about the OFW that sending their earnings to their countries? Bitcoin is so volatile compared to dollars, it is not good Idea to replace dollar with bitcoin. Maybe a much develop cryptocurrency with better stability will do. Bitcoin has a potential but it is not perfect for replacing fiat lets just wait for another crypto with lots of capabilities to be the standard currency.

No, that is impossible in nearest future. In first, dollar is more stronger than btc, because the basis of strength of the dollar - army and economics USA. In second - blocking of internet(theoretically) can fall down bitcoin, a lot of various blockchains will be produced.

In my opinion no Bitcoin can't replace dollars because dollars is the number one paper money in the world and more easy to use even without internet not like bitcoin you can't transfer or use it in paying bills without the use of internet.

For me, yes! Bitcoin had already beat the gold up so it is impossible for Bitcoin to also replace the dollar. I have a strong gut feeling that cryptocurrency will rise and the paper cash will no longer have its value anymore.

I think bitcoin will always be a secondary store of value to mainstream currencies.

I think bitcoin will always be a secondary store of value to mainstream currencies.
How can it be a store of value? Its value changes dramatically on a daily basis, as well as over the long term. Furthermore, it has absolutely no intrinsic value. Bitcoin is worth literally zero dollars as a store of value. It's only value comes from its potential use as a currency, and speculation. That being said, its technical and scalability issues prevent it from being usable as a currency. Nosebleed transaction fees and extended transaction times make it far inferior to many other alt coins. I think that in 15 years bitcoin won't even exist to be honest. Maybe another alt coin will become mainstream, but honestly I don't even think the benefit of decentralization is enough to warrant the headache of using these currencies for transactions rather than just using Venmo or credit cards.

I do not think that Bitcoin will replace dollar because dollar is still the currency used in the real world while bitcoin is placed in the electronic world which is part of the whole cryptocurrency industry. We can exchange bitcoins to turn them into dollars and vise-versa. Both of these currencies are a basis of other fiat money and for these reason they cannot replace each other.

[/ quote] I think that if Bitcoin grows better in the future, it will take us less than 15 years to replace the dollar, which I believe Bitcoin will need in 7 years to replace the dollar. There are probably a lot of people who agree that Bitcoin has more investors interested after Bitcoin has experienced a lot of fluctuations, and it can be that Bitcoin is not just a virtual currency but is becoming increasingly popular.

Bitcoin or, better said, cryptocurrencies, do have the chance to replace our current money (be it dollar or euro or so on), but I doubt it will happen in the near future, because all great things need time until they are understood and accepted by the general public. There are still lots of misconceptions out there that are dragging it down. And a lot of outdated economists that pretend to know the supreme truth, when in fact, they know close to nothing about it.

Nope. I very doubt government will want to relinquish control... As a sub currency it could gain mainstream use but i think there will be much blood before BTC replace the Dollar. Modern governments seem very infavor of relinquishing control. That's what this whole globalization thing is about. Most governments want to surrender to a one world government. So if a one-world-government is not far-fetched then neither is a one-world currency. Although I do not think this currency is going to be bitcoin, nobody wants those ridiculous fees.

We should be very logically approached bitcoin. And honestly saying bitcoin never ever replace Dollar it is going to survive for ever. May be a few volume affected But not maximum level. So I think and confirm that dollar will sustain and bitcoin will rock.

Most of us have credit cards, but did plastic cards replace paper money? Electronic and internet payments systems exist for about 20 years, but did they replace flat currencies? In the nearest future cryptocurrency should become fully supported by most of payment systems, to let customers decide which currency or coin they prefer to use.

You do have a point there, mate. Even with the inception of credit cards, fiat currencies still exist in our world. Cards have not managed to replace fiat, but instead serve as a complement to fiat currency. The same thing could happen with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as they become used alongside other fiat currencies in the mainstream world. Since Bitcoin lacks many properties of the Dollar, it would make it impossible to replace it anytime soon. It is extremely volatile, non-fungible, and very slow, making it hard to become recognized as a true currency and rival against the Dollar. But, I do believe that the Dollar will become stronger in the long term as it shifts itself from being physical to digital in a privately-owned ledger by the FED. This will become a major improvement to the well-known fiat currency as it delivers greater transparency, efficiency, and costs reduction. Once the US realizes the true benefits of blockchain technology, the Dollar would be no longer printed and only exist as a digital currency in our world. When that time comes, other national currencies will follow it, and fiat currencies will survive alongside cryptocurrencies for years to come. Just my opinion
