I don't think its will happen, but might bitcoin will replace gold soon. because if you want replace dollar with bitcoin, you need to hand over the control of bitcoin to government. its very difficulty to replace because not everyone know about bitcoin.
- I agree with you, if we talk about good investment options and high profits, bitcoin really is gradually replacing the position of gold in the minds of investors but it was only in degree is the place to invest. With the intention of replacing the dollar, that means bitcoin will be used as a currency, and this certainly can not happen because as you say, most people around the world still do not have full knowledge of bitcoin, and its nature is just investment, it can not become official currency, the US government will not accept it replace their money

If bitcoin replaced dollar, it would mean that a global revolution had completely changed the world. What a lot of people don't understand is that bitcoin general acceptance won't have so many economic effect as political ones, because decentralization of money means an unacceptable loss of power for central authorities.

I think it's impossible to replace Bitcoin into dollars, because dollars and bitcoin are two different things, one is a currency and the other is a digital.

I do think there might be a time where cryptocurrencies will take over. However keep in mind that people only willing to change from dollars to a digital currency if the will lose their faith into the USD or any other fiat currency. Also Bitcoin is far away from a currency which can be used for daily costs, so a lot of improvements are needed. I doubt that Bitcoin will be the currency for the daily use.
And I actually think that goverments will force people to use the currency they want. Probably they will make there own digital currency which gives them the maximum control over the population. Of course many people will find a way to use some 'illegal' private cryptocurrencies. However since 99% of the population won't accept them you will still need to use the official supported currency of the goverment.

The decentralized nature of Bitcoin is seen as its main advantage over typical currencies. Those who own bitcoins can have total control over their finances, with encryption and automation technologies that are improving these days. However, it is also this decentralized nature that makes Bitcoin prone to security threats and piracy incidents, which have resulted in the loss of funds and the closure of some markets around the world.
Using bitcoin can transform the global payment arena into an open source, which means that increasing its adoption can also improve its value. Increasingly, online merchants and large companies are opening up to the idea of accepting payments in bitcoin, while customers are also enjoying greater transparency, reducing costs, and faster transactions over them.

I don't think that government will make btc their main currency there is only chance for btc to get accepted everywhere but it doesn't mean that the government will make it a legal tender. On the first hand btc is a digital currency which does not have a physical form nor its value remains the same so it is not something which can be used as legal tender .It is infact foolish to think so i completely disagree with your statement btc replacing dollar.

I do not think that will happen. Because after all we still need dollars. If that happens I think it takes a long time for it. I further believe that the bitcoin price will soar and some dollar users will switch to bitcoin. Bitcoin has a great potential to be a great currency.

Bitcoin is a way of making money, we invest and it will give you high profit in the future (It is similar to Job). Dollar is what we use everyday, thing that we receive after working. Bitcoin can convert into dollar. However, like you, I believe Bitcoin will replace Gold someday in the future.

There is no way this will happens very soon; may be in a remote future. If bitcoin replaced the dollars, it would mean that government had lost their political and financial power. I don't think they will accept this kind of change.

I don't think so bitcoin would not replace dollar in the near future. Dollar is the strongest currency and it would remain so. But more and more business institutions using bitcoin and the number is growing everyday. And btc is very volatile in order to use daily usage.

Yes but only if the the government of United States declare bitcoin as legal and have control over bitcoin. This is not impossible as dollar is the national fiat money of U.S. And if this thing will not happen then there is no reason to believe that this speculation will happen.

It's Funny. Fiat money irreplaceable with other currency. Seriously, daily transaction is not effective when you use Bitcoin, you lose extra money just for TxFee. But, if you ask about Alternative Investment, that's the purpose. And, yah... Dollar still the standar for World Currency.

It took a long time to replace the dollar, let alone bitcoin users is not known for sure the amount, I'm sure that the US government will do anything so that dollar always be number # 1 including war with bitcoin.

I think that everything will be much easier here, because the crypto currency will not be able to replace paper money in its functionality. Many people will refuse to use crypto currency, because there is no specific knowledge or technical capabilities. And simply using paper money is more profitable.

That's actually not an argument as dollar transfers take typically days for normal users, and are much more expensive than BTC. Also, the argument that crypto is more technical has no baring here. Everyone who can use a mobile phone can pay with crypto-currency.

No, I don't even think, that it will happen in next 50 years, government won't let it happen, because bitcoin will kill something, what they were building last years. Even, if don't think about government, bitcoin is not perfect model what can replace dollar and needed years to integrate bitcoin. So, I more than sure , that government will create something own, maybe same to bitcoin, but with with control levers.

Technically, is very possible, even if this implies that any citizen will have a computer and a smart phone. But there will be so much political resistance that I'm very skeptic this change could happen in the next future. We'll see.
