If indeed Inter still consider Lukaku to be an important player next season, then that's their right. I can't say I don't agree because I know Lukaku as a player who can contribute to the team's goalscoring stats. He's good, but as said and of course his performances have dropped season after season. Inter need a better striker than Lukaku, but Lukaku can still be relied on even if he doesn't completely rely on him.

That is not the case and we have never thought too far about Inter Milan still considering Lukaku to be an important player. After successfully getting Loftus Cheek from Chelsea, now Milan are interested again in getting players from other English league clubs and Saint Maximin is indeed a very good choice for Milan. I think Saint Maximin has something that Milan needs, he has speed and accurate dribbles that can make the opponent's defense weak. On the other hand, maybe his position on the left wing means he has to become a substitute for Rafael Leao if he later joins Milan. But as long as he can compete with Rafael Leao maybe he can start at Milan. I agree with you about Lukaku looking really bad last season judging by his goal statistics. When compared to the first period in the Inter uniform, Lukaku still hasn't been able to show his best performance in this second period. Inter is better off not extending the loan period with a permanent purchase option next year. They better focus on finding young strikers who have potential, instead of making Lukaku permanent considering he is also 30 years old.

Chelsea made a permanent option offer to Inter to cover losses when they sent him home in the second period from Inter. Chelsea management seems more than happy to release the player to the Arab Pro League. At least they have the courage to pay up to 50 million Pounds to Chelsea. However, it is reported that Lukaku rejected the contract offer and prefers to play for Inter Milan next season. Even if he survives, I think Lukaku will only be a back-up and fill the bench more than he will get to play next season.

I think he will stay for Napoli next season because indeed he was an important factor in Napoli winning the league last season, but Min-jae Kim's departure to Bayern Munich will also make Napoli's defense less good because so far Min-jae Kim playing well at the back, I think even that will cost Napoli a big loss selling Min-jae Kim.
