Let's be honest, how do you expect someone to play while wearing a mask? Well, it would be the same for everyone, so level playing field again And we have seen it before^^: Source: https://www.bundesliga.com/de/bundesliga/news/aubameyang-spiderman-maske.jspAnd there is also these masks that some runners/athletes use for training to improve their respiratory fitness - some smoking players should be grateful then. I agree though, this is very unlikely to happen. But if someone told me some weeks ago, that it's possible to shut down whole countries/economies in a matter of days, I would have told him to seek for medical help. If it becomes mandatory to wear a mask for the players during matches, they should also reduce playing time to 2x30 minutes to compensate for breathing issues and there is the same player with another mask... and these two variations would not help to prevent the infection in this case:

I am surprised that Neuer after all this time with heavy injuries has returned at the top. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world but in my opinion his performance has been dropped significantly during the last season. At least he is keeping on a decent form!

There is no way you can ask the players to risk their lives and basically march them to their death (potentially) and tell them "you will have masks don't worry" and expect them to agree on it. I mean we are talking about a disease that could potentially kill them, of course they are young and they are peak physical condition for humans so I do not think it would be a high chance, but even with less than 1% chances we are talking about a possibility, between all the players in all the teams and all the staff there is a potential at least one person will die because of corona if the league comes back now.
So, they should still keep waiting for a while and when there is a medicine found and it cures people, that is when they can finally come back if they have to.

Bayern Munich were among a number of Bundesliga clubs to return to training for the first time since the campaign was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.
There emerged discussions regarding that today, because some teams complain about an unfair unadvantage. A team like Bremen for example is not allowed to train, because each of the 16 states in Germany can make their own decision as to whether teams are allowed to train (in small groups) or not. And the state of Bremen does not allow it - federalism can be good and bad

Well Germany is a little fortunate considering the fact that they haven't had so many fatalities compared to Italy or Spain despite having a relatively high number of confirmed cases but i think the decision to start of training by some clubs has been rushed. Why not wait until things clear up first?

Fortunate? I don't think so. Germany has a very strong health facilities nationwide and they have one of the best Insitute on virus, Robert Koch. The nation has one of the best nationwide ICU facilities and their approach to do massive test help to flat out the curve of death tolls. More assymptomatic and mild cases detected via massive test, the lower fatality rate will be. That is what we have in Germany. From reports, I also see Germany has their biggest infected population is much younger than in Italy's so it is their luck, I agree. We know the virus is more dangerous to the elderly and in Italy, more than 40% of death tolls come from the age group of 80 - 89 and if we count for the age groups from 60 and above, the percent will be higher than 80% of all death tolls. That's terrible.

That is not true. Bremen are allowed to train in small groups. Also Hamburg and Hannover96. Money rulez. Yes, correct. Initially they were not allowed, but they got a derogation from the Senate. This virus brings up some weird situations, where a football team needs permission from authorities to do some training. But whether Bremen trains or not, shouldn't make much of a difference, they will relegate anyway. Though I am still hoping for a relegation playoff between Hamburg and Bremen, should be fun

How to keep social distancing when players are in trainings? It is unrealistic. I thought this graph makes sense. When the first wave of outbreak is controlled, and the curve flattens out, that result in social distancing will be lessened but after that we will see another wave of outbreak with maybe lower peak. And things will keep going on, bottom, lessen, peak, etc. I think if players are allowed to go training, then playing in closed stadiums, they must be obeyed strict quarantine rules that are different from locals. I don't believe players will accept stricter quarantine rules on them. Check out this graph from JP Morgan: This is based partially on the second wave emerging in China. Are we going to keep doing these lockdowns every couple of months until a vaccine arrives?

I don't see the need to rush the team back to training during this pandemic. The country may have not been able to prevent a heavy impact, but still the health and the safety of the players should come first ahead of keeping them fit or restarting the league. Ensuring socal distancing is a good step, but the virus can still be transmitted through droplets and contaminated surfaces. In my opinion; football can wait. Sport can wait that's correct, but sport has long been more about money than sport itself. There is a lot of pressure from the TV contracts etc. It will be exciting if it goes on, probably with ghost games, even if I think nothing of sports without spectators.

It’s not really just football, entire economies are going to collapse if we don’t try to get back to some level of normal soon. At some point you have to lessen the restrictions, people are going to die but more will die if only ‘essential workers’ are allowed to work. Families are going to go hungry & not be able to afford a roof over their heads. I give this another month max before governments are forced to lessen restrictions & try to get their economies working again.

Yeah there's a lot of scenarios to be prepared to anticipate the league to come back under strict surveillance, that's why some clubs start the training session. I'm more to hold/end the season rather than to continue even with some strict control or so. Economies could die and back up , lives not.

Guys can you please focus on the German Bundesliga? Seriously, the president of Ghana has absolutely nothing to do with German football. If you wanna discuss random statements of politicians concerning the Covid-19 pandemic please do that, but open another thread! This is not the right place. I will keep reporting these posts and I am happy that most of the stuff I recently reported got deleted by our mods.
So, let's please talk about the Bundesliga again: The German newspaper Bild just reported that the DFL plans to resume the current season either on the 2nd or 9th of May. The Kicker is also reporting on the matter. The currently schedule could look like this: The DFL plans to resume the season either on 2 or 9 May. The Bundesliga season would end on 21 June with the DFB Pokal Final taking place a week later. [BILD]
Source: https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1246884271131971586; https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EU3Sne6XgAI-I_v?format=jpg&name=large (Click on the source to see an image with the full schedule. I am not posting the it, since the image is huge.)
Another important news of the day: One of the long-time strikers of the Bundesliga will stay in the league. Thomas Mueller just extended his contract at FC Bayern until 2023. Thomas Müller has extended his contract at FC Bayern until June 2023. Müller: "This club is not just any old employer for me. It’s my passion." Source: https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1247454777010683904Great news for the Bundesliga in my opinion, since there were rumors that this world-class player could move to the Premier League or the La Liga. I am happy that he is staying in the league.

There is one way to get out of this and it has to be made to actually fix all of this issue and also keep everyone safe and healthy as well. Get a new contract. Face that this season could be cancelled and if you ask me SHOULD be cancelled, keep that in pocket and teams, team owners, players, TV right owners, sponsors and basically everyone involved who makes money from football or pays money to football should get together.
In that meeting there should be some sort of agreements that will stretch the next years and also help the people who paid, for example TV rights owners should be given one more year for a lot cheaper for next year, or just +1 year to their current contract, people who sponsored teams or jerseys and so forth should be given a huge discount on another year. That way maybe this year was bad but they will get a cheaper second year and that way they could let go off players and at least players can stay healthy and not risk their lives.

The cessation of the competition certainly makes a number of clubs also choose to take time off training, including the defending champion, Bayern Munchen. But after two weeks of stopping all activities, the club has just confirmed that Robert Lewandowski et al will return to hold training starting Monday, April 6, 2020. That was not without reason, because the club asked not to be attended by the audience. This is certainly based on the policy of the local authority.

Germany government determinantly operates massive testing. They focus on testing, testing , and testing so there are high detected positive cases but it help Germany discover them sooner and isolate them sooner. In the run with the virus, pace and scale of responses are important. And in reality it shows some good epidemic control measures and results of Germany.
If there is a national league in Europe reopen, Bundesliga might be the first one.
