Well hell.  My batch 8 has developed a problem.  It started beeping and I happened to be nearby so I checked out the GUI and the hashrate was slowly dropping to zero.  I noticed that one hashboard said the temp was 96 and two of them said temp 0.  So I rebooted through the GUI, it came up and started mining but the temps all say 0 now.  I did a power cycle and same thing, all zeros.  At least it is hashing though so that's good.  It didn't overheat, it is sitting next to a couple other S7's and the temp where they are didn't get up past room temperature and the other machines are fine.  When I power cycled it I did gently move it around to check for a loose heatsink but there wasn't anything detectable, plus I think those were mostly in earlier batches.  But now all zeros on the temps.  Lame.

EDIT:  Looks like this was actually precipitated by a brief failover on the pool.  I have seen these things get messed up on failover before but this is the first time I saw an issue develop that didn't get cured by a power cycle.

So I will ask the batch 11's shipped  what day did you pay on? My orders were 2 days ago.

I actually wanted this a while back. The EVGA comes with the jumper now. They all do now. But i thought. Why didnt they make it female, so that you can plug it strait into the PSU? It would cost them exactly the same thing but it would be much cleaner.

Now i have about a dozen EVGA, the mobo trunk isint much of an issue but in OCD term, i wouldnt mind removing their "tails".

The green wire is #4 on the Corsair PSUs but the EVGA has it's green wire on #2...

I do these at 0.01 BTC each to cover what I spend in parts and shipping costs.  Less for more pieces...PM if interested.

The OCD factor is why I started doing the jumper plugs directly into the modular PSUs...I could not stand having a bundle of cables everywhere just to jump two pins together.  When I started finding the modular plugs I bought more than I needed because of bulk discounts.  Then I realized that some of the makers used different sized modular plugs!  It's been crazy...

The green wire is #4 on the Corsair PSUs but the EVGA has it's green wire on #2...

I honestly don't think we will see one unless proof of concept.  I think most will be interested in investing in true building for data center.  And a LOT of the big guy's already have these big data centers.  I predict they want the gear to go into existing slots, and use existing PSU's.   

But this is getting offtopic of Bitmain.  Bitmain I would love to see what they have planned for next gen.  Right now seems S7 is focus though.  And I can see why if you have cheap electricity likely still good gear for quite a while.

The problem on resell value is each batch keeps getting cheaper and cheaper.  Right now batch 11's are tad over 700 dollars.  And some have gotten shipped.  So I think they dropped from around 900 or so to closer to 700 now.  And if not already there they will be soon as far as resell.

It's hard to say in a month what it will be.  Highly connected to each new batches price.

Did anyone noticed the predicted Network difficulty drop on the next window?  Market always reset itself to make it worth while.  Bitcoin can not survive without the miners, but of course lowest cost miners will always have the best odds over the long term.

last 30 hours we are at a 155-160 block a day pace.  so the negative will slowly turn positive.

back to batch 11 shipping.

I paid for four units on feb 23rd

I think some paid as early as feb 17th and they say it was shipped.

I paid for it on the 22nd and 23rd, not shipped yet.  Interestingly, anyone noticed that Antpool dropped by 30PH?  Very interesting what's going on and why we're suddenly seeing a network difficulty drop.  Interesting times for sure.
