anyone else notice that when you have two different pool URL's, the "bestshare" value never shows? I think after it has mined from both pools at some point. It will show bestshare for the only connected pool until then (weather it be the primary or failover that's the only one that has connected)
This has been an odd bug i've noticed for a while now.
its actually a flaw in the cgminer bitmain uses.. its very outdated but they refuse to update it. best share is not displayed if your diff is an even multiplier.. 256/512/1024/2048 antpool loves setting the diff at these numbers..

its very outdated but they refuse to update it.
they fucked up sources of cgminer so much that it is very hard to merge ck's 4.9.2 into bitmain's fork of 4.8.0 (they override options, api statistics and have nicehash extranonce patch). i managed to build something from bitmain's repo + ck's latest version of cgminer for S5 but i'm not sure it would work like it should (it starts and mine though). and they don't provide sources for S7 at all.

bah ... It seems I have finally fallen prey to Bitmains lack of Quality Control.... One of the batch 11, S7's I received is a bit grumpy at the stock 700mhz. I kept getting the red led, beeping with the log saying the fifo is empty, self reseting, and not to mention a fairly high amount of hardware errors.
All the other S7 from Batch 3 and batch 9, and batch 11 all have 0-2 HW errors after a typical 1hr runtime. This one batch 11 was tossing anywhere from 8 to 27 HW errors in 5 to 10 minutes... if I could get it to run for 10 minutes before having to power down the logic or the heathen demon self resets. More like 5 minutes was a typical run.
So I dropped it to 675mhz, it hashed just fine no errors... I've been slowly walking up the frequency after each successful hour of mining looking for when it gets grumpy, then back it down one clock setting.
Just some FYI info since RMAing this back to Bitmain would be costly not only in shipping costs, but also in mining profits that would be offline for who knows how long.
So if you get some funky shizzle with these batch 11's, It probably would be more advantageous to just underclock it a bit rather than to take it offline for weeks while Bitmain pokes and prods it with screwdrivers and hammers..... for it to come back loaded up with dead S5+ boards and when its no longer profitable to mine.....
Just my 1-1/8 cents....

I have about 10 bad boards from batch 7 that need to be fixed. They just stopped working. I emailed Sherry and info@bitmaintech.com many times with no replies. Did they change their way of communicating for warranty or something? It's been a week now.

you can't repair hardware with updating software lol but here it is http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=01104930055869963213login to your S5 and do: /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh stop then upload cgminer file to /usr/bin (it should be executable) and do: /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh start update will not survive reboots. i choose ck's new api output version so it is not compatible with bitmain's web interface, you need to use some 3rd party monitoring software like cryptoglance to monitor it's stats

That used to be the case but now it's only possible if they were originally purchased from Yoshi.. Any bought directly from Bitmain must go back to China..

as blocks tick down for the difficulty period it is getting more likely to be true. In the 1 hour and 24 minutes since your post we made 8 blocks which is a negative pace for those 84 minutes. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficultyBitcoin Difficulty: 163,491,654,909 Estimated Next Difficulty: 157,955,439,586 (-3.39%) Adjust time: After 620 Blocks, About 4.5 days Hashrate(?): 1,140,630,032 GH/s Block Generation Time(?): 1 block: 10.4 minutes 3 blocks: 31.2 minutes 6 blocks: 1.0 hours Updated: 11:15 (1.4 minutes ago)

I have two S7 coupon (0.05BTC off), if you plan on buying a S7 in the next 2 days, i can donate one or both. They expire in 2-3 days though so you have to be ready to buy some S7 pretty much now.

I'm impressed... Aside from the delay caused by CNY, Bitmain replaced my dead s7b8 hasboard exactly 7 days after they got it. I waited until the 18th to send it, UPS shows it received on Feb 22 and I just got the replacement today. Different board, slightly older rev but what the hay, that's what is expected for warranty replacements. It works fine and now that s7 is up to full speed for the 1st time.
Also have to add that after I sent the dead board I got no further word from Bitmain about it's status much less the replacement being on its way... According to the RMA information it can take up to 1 month so needless to say,Congrats on the fast service.
