If bitcoin starts sponsoring a big soccer team in Europe, that would greatly increase it's exposure.

That the best idea i heard today.

However I don't think the bitcoin foundation has that kind of budget. They have to pay at least 20M+ to sponsor a club like Barca or AC Milan

bitpay already tried that with american football last year... it didnt really gain much fame... so they dropped it this year

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-st-petersburg-bowl-first-college-football-game-sponsored-cryptocurrency/

the problem is not about advertising.. its about bitcoin usage once people start thinking about bitcoin..
afterall there is no point wasting money on advertising if the viewers cannot buy beer or toilet roll with it from their local 7eleven.

and thats why europe doesnt bother advertising Euro's in america.. or why america doesnt advertise Dollars in britain...
so will all you "we need to advertise" fanboys. look passed the 15 minutes of fame and orgasms you will have from seeing the advert. and think about the non-bitcoin people who will see the advert for the first time. and what uses they will see of benefit..

remember 99% of people are not investors, and they wont spend money unless its on something useful.. so concentrate on bitcoins usefulness to common people before thinking of advertising bitcoin

I found out about bitcoin from advertisement. I knew absolutely nothing about bitcoin at that point, and i started researching it and found out how to get involved and i am still learning about bitcoin day by day. The less people know about bitcoin, the less usefull bitcoin will be,it's kind of a catch 22. With exposure, people will get curious about it and gain followings....  Advertisement is not THE solution, but it is part of the solution in order for bitcoin to become what we all want it to be. Just like you say we are "advertisement" fanboys,I can say you are a "usefulness" fanboy...  but I won't. What's funny is for that superbowl game bitcoin was accepted for ticket and concession sales at the game as part of the sponsorship, and the sponsorship itself was also paid for using bitcoin. So not only did they do advertisement, they also showed the usefulness of what could be done with bitcoin. And also besides north america,i am pretty sure that nobody else cares about that "bowl"  You can't compare European soccer to that.

I think that we need a lot more than just advertising to make people aware of it. Theirs so many more ways to promote and make people aware of Bitcoin but it is down to that area and the people in that town who choice to use it. Not everyone knows of it or understands it fully enough to use or think it is a scam.  You can advertise it all you want but hats like pissing in the wind if people will do anything to use. In time it will get to a point more are using it but still comes to the point of the big factor, "What If" Block chain is massive and needs to be shrunk and that does put people off and look to using 3rd party wallets, still then comes a risk of how secure it is.

As i saw make advertisement into any team wont result in any impact into bitcoin interest or value, the advertisements must be done online, and be funny those will bring new costumers into bitcoin.Spending thousands to show word bitcoin isnt the way ,we need some announce funny and short cant be above 1 minute and can be realeased once a week soo till they know full bitcoin they will search about it,i hope with openbazar the interest will change .

I guess awareness about Bitcoin will naturally increase once you have multiple bitcoin companies and they start advertising. It doesn't have to be the Bitcoin foundation (equivalent of America advertising dollars).
If there are telecom companies advertising, it is a positive for the advantages of mobile telephony as a whole.
In the same way, once there are multiple competing companies in the cryptospace and they start spending on advertising, Bitcoin will benefit.

They could start with a few local clubs and go from there. Certain things have to start out small to reach their full potential. I think that if bitcoin would start sponsoring a soccer team, more people would be aware, like parents at their kids football club on a Saturday.

I do think that all we need to do for now is creating awareness about this digital currency so that people stop viewing it as a method used by only criminals. Being able to inform the society on some of the key benefits of bitcoin will help boost the acceptance rate. In doing that also will make the government see the potential that Bitcoins have when it comes to running the economy.   believe it is better we create awareness and in itself do the marketing.

I believe that as more options of advertising digital currency we have the better. Currently, there is a lot of advertisement, but its not enough. We need to get to every side of the social scale in advertising bitcoin and this is still not done!

Even with the bitcoin being promoted heavily online, the interest of the people isnt getting inside bitcoin because we all know that there are a lot risks involved into it,knowing that its potencial is amazing and unlimited but well if there is no fresh money into bitcoin we will see it loosing value on the next years instead growing.

That's true, we need more and more people to be a part of bitcoin community and if the adoption level goes high we can expect a bit of price stability in the future, but bitcoins needs a great level of promotion at the initial stage, if the promotions are done in the best way then only it can create a positive impact on the mindsets of the people.

you just need merchants to adopt bitcoin

for example amazon adopting bitcoin would count as advertisement, which will bring more people into play

if people don't use bitcoin so much is because there are no one big, accepting them, so merchants need to do the first step
Yes it right , but how big merchants like amazon , ebay , and etc trust with bitcoin ? Cheesy

Its very hard to make amazon and etc trust in bitcoin, because bitcoin have their unwanted flaws, like anonymously, vulnerable to hackers and etc.Cheesy

arent there some big companies accepting Bitcoin? was it dell or smth
microsoft started accepting BTC, but it wasn't as dramatised as I thought it would be  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Yes Dell accepts bitcoins as payment. Never tried it though, I'm not much of a fan of Dell, didn't have a good expierence with the laptop I bought from them.

To get back on topic, I do believe we need more ways of advertising, we need it more out in the real world and not just online. There could be advertisements on billboards and such.

Because when Microsoft started to adopt bitcoin there wasn't any news or press releases about it Roll Eyes
Now imagine if Microsoft goes to Technology expo and announces that they will use Bitcoin, it would be a different story Wink

yes  , there is a great need of advertising the bitcoins .
there are less way to earn bitcoins like through jobs at office.
with the advertisement of bitcoins the user of bitcoins will increase and with the increase in the number of user the value of bitcoins also increase.
so i think there is a more needs for the advertisement of bitcoins.

I think these Black Fridays are a huge thing: I have some friends who started asking me info about BTC. I see more and more interested people around.
I think that's good

Yes, absolutely! IMO Bitcoin has too many bad news! Many ppl heard about it but still don't bother to step in. What we need is that more Bitcoin related services are coming out, cater our needs and provide unique utility to our life comparing with our traditional money systems. They have incentives to promote their services and Bitcoin, raise the awareness. Ppl know how they can use it for good cause and start to accept it.
