Now onto the Hopman Cup where Germany has beaten Australia and now go on to face Switzerland in the final. Its going to be a good final to watch as in the Men's side its young up coming talent taking on one of the greatest players of all time in Federer so I'm really looking forward to watching this later today.
Well Federer won it Score: Zverev - Federer: 0 -2 (4-6)(2-6) Seems like it was an easy win for Federer. In ATP Brisbane, Nishikori already made it to Final. In between Tsonga and Medvedev my bet is for Tsonga. Hopefully he will make it to final too and will face Nishikori. Really sad that this game went this way regarding their last game. Was hoping for a better show. The problem with Zverev is that he is very inconsistent. So I'm not surprised at how the match turns into Roger Federer. Roger took control with a early break and it seems that Zverev did had a hard time. Kerber beat Bencic on the women side so its 1-1.

Kerber beat Bencic on the women side so its 1-1.
Bencic gave a good fight against Kerber but unfortunately it was not enough to win. The Tsonga and Medvedev did not go as I was expecting. Although Tsonga has a good start at the first set with the early break and he was leading 3 - 0! Medvedev came from behind and won the first set in tie-breaker. In the second set Medvedev was dominating. Tsonga was not able to give any fight. Medvedev deserved the win.

Medvedev will play Kei Nishikori then for the finals. I thought we're going to see a break out season for Tsonga because he was absent in the circuit for the last 7 months or so. But it's not his day as Medvedev easily won the second set. It's another intriguing match as Nishikori will be chasing his first title in 3 years.

Tsonga is a good player I have seen some brilliant games from him but unfortunately his career he could not win many major trophy. My expectation from him (I guess to the world too) was much more then what he achieved so far. Anyway, looking forward to see the final in between Medvedev and Nishikori.

The whole french tennis team seems to have forgotten what hard work means. They have no ambition. Cashing in their 7 digits salary is enough to satisfy them. They have 0 drive to win. Lazy fucks.

Switzerland have once again won the Hopman Cup against Germany, it came down to the mixed doubles match where Switzerland won it in three sets. This now makes it Federer's third Hopman Cup win which is now the new record for any player winning this tournament. It was nice to see him win it for the third time as it may very well be his last time playing in this tournament.
I'm looking forwad to watching the Brisbane International final between Nishikori and Medvedev, I think it will be a close fought match with both Men in top form. I'm leaning more towards Nishikori as he is very good on hard courts but it can go either way.

Main problem with these two are injuries which significantly marked their careers. Tsonga became father last year so it was another factor to lessen his interest in tennis. I expected lot from Pouille last year but he dipped in form heavily....just ups and downs and generally inconsistent player.

Right , consistency is a key in Tennis ( well other sports too but hell lot more important in tennis ) if you want to make a name . That's why Nadal , Fed are legends because they have been in top positions for over a decade .

You're right. Might be the last Hopman Cup appearance for Roger Federer so its nice to see him win it in dramatic fashion. So let's see how Federer will perform at Australian Open now as he looks formidable winning in straight sets as far as I can remember. I'm looking forwad to watching the Brisbane International final between Nishikori and Medvedev, I think it will be a close fought match with both Men in top form. Ken Nishikori won the Brisbane International and finally ending a three year drought. He dominated Medvedev right from the opening. So he has the momentum as well going to Australian Open, I'm sure he will be in the discussions to win the trophy as well.

This was nice to see Nishikori win the Brisbane International as he hasn't won a tournament in a long time, I believe his last tournament win was in 2016 so it was nice to see him finally win one. He looks very good for the Australian Open and as we know he has always been a very good player on hard courts so the Australian Open has always suited him. Now we move onto the Sydney International that starts today so there is plenty of tennis before the Australian Open as there is also the Hobart International but this is mainly for players trying to qualify for the Australian Open.

Kei Nishikori was 0-9 in finals since winning Memphis in 2016 indeed. Big won for him, decent odds pre match too (1.65). The bet I like today is Ryan Harrison in Sydney, odds: 2.20. He plays Yoshito Nishioka, a good player but lacks power. And about the Australian Open, I am very tempted to bet on Novak Djokovic NOT to win the title, odds: 1.70 (bet $100, $wins 70). He is becoming vulnerable, so I like the chances of the field.

These odds seem decent indeed. However he often gets stronger as the competition gets harder. I wouldn't take these odds myself Best of luck tho.

I just think he is overrated lately, of course these odds are also explained by the fact that: -Rafa Nadal could withdraw from the event (and don't think he would be a threat anyway) -Roger Federer is old and done in best of 5 sets format (IMO) -Juan Martin Del Potro pulled out -Andy Murray is done -Stan Wawrinka, well who knows But I still like the field: young guns: Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and maybe older players too (Kei Nishikori or Marin Cilic). I go for a small sake here.

However Zverev just got literally wiped out by Federer. An exhibition, I would not read too much into it. World Tour Finals in November 2018, Alexander Zverev was much more composed and won in straight sets. However the surface will be quick again for Roger Federer (Rod Laver trying to rig things for his favorite?). Anyway I have the feeling Zverev will finally mature and prioritize the slams this season.

I am following the livescore, I have a bet on Ryan Harrison, of course he is down But it's not over. I must confess Yoshito Nishioka is insanely talented, he won a title last year, his game is special, very good left hand but I really thought on this surface the American could prevail thanks to his serve. Not over yet but not looking too good at the moment.

Yes, I have the same feeling that Zverev will gain more experience this year and it's just a matter of time before we can see him at least get a Grand Slam next year. These odds seem decent indeed. However he often gets stronger as the competition gets harder. I wouldn't take these odds myself Best of luck tho. I agree. I wouldn't say that Novak is overated. He can still perform high level tennis as competitions gets harder and he seems to perform better under pressure. Let's see how he perform this year to gauge he still has the itch to compete against a lot of young prospects.

He must need to hold this game and rest of the games of this set or he is out unfortunately. Nishioka is playing really well. updateThis was my leet post by the way. Just thought to capture it
