I don't know, are you saying that she is won't win any grand slams? You should give her a chance, Emma Raducanu was a unknown in 2021 when she won the US Open. So maybe by chance and the way she is showing right now, she might go all the way and win. Maybe not this year, but in the future.

Emma Raducanu got really lucky when she won way back then since she didn't need to face many of the top players. Eala could definitely win a slam too, but she needs that sort of luck in my opinion since there are many European players far ahead of her currently.

Top players usually save their best for the slams which is why she would need to improve a whole lot more in order to win without a high degree of luck involved. Just my personal analysis btw.

Probably that was the case for Emma and to a certain extent, Fernandez too, as she was the opponent of Emma for the US Open that time. Two teen-agers fighting for a Slam and they are both unknown that time.

Quite a few good rallies though in Alex match against McNally and at one point I thought that she has a good chance to upset Alex.

I agree, I do manage to win a bet on her today relying heavily on will beat his opponent but I’m not aware that she is suffering already an injury probably due to her last tournament run. Even top tennis player experience this kind of injury on a heavy physical games like tennis.

I hope she will be fine and don’t force herself just to continue her winning streak. I was supposed to ride on her winning streak to this tournament but I have change of heart now due to injury.

Bergs went far in the tournement and this was his huge chance maybe to go even further but i guess he still isnt at that level. On the other hand Shelton has an amazing chance to finally win a big tournament with all top players knocked out.

I hope she will be fine and don’t force herself just to continue her winning streak. I was supposed to ride on her winning streak to this tournament but I have change of heart now due to injury.

The injury doesnt seem too serious. With proper taping, Eala should still be able to play normally. We already saw how she performed in the last set, and that really showed the heart of a champion. She still managed to get the win. With the crowd still favoring her, I believe she can still come out as the winner in this round.

Alex Eala's career is truly captivating, defeating top players is why she gained a lot of fans. Her first title recently built her some momentum going forward in Toronto's tournament. And yeah, she seems like she's playing at home because fans follow her everywhere she plays. Even the Tennis spectator etiquette has not been properly observed when she's playing.

She already beat players with better rankings than her current opponent, so the confidence is understandable. But she still should not underestimate Bencic. There is no big upset here since this is just a WTA 1000 event and isn't some sort of prestigious slam or something which is why many players don't give it their all and some top players totally skip them all together. Slams are on a whole other level.

Just like in the last Wimbledon, she lost to Osaka in the Round of 16, so she did not even get close to the final. Now she lost again, although this one is not a Grand Slam. Maybe she is starting to move past her prime already, that's just my guess.

WTA is really always the same,favorites keep on losing always and its just wierd that they cannot win couple of tournaments in the row. Was expecting Sabalenka to start dominating again but now she cannot win any tournaments. Same thing happened to Swiatek before,she was really dominant and just dropped in play and in rank and now is struggling a lot.

The sportsbooks seem to see something in Eala because ever since she beat Fernandez, her odds were never over 2.50x for any of her matches inwhich she won towards the runup to winning the Mubadala DC Open in Washington.

Let's see in the next six to seven hours if she can continue her winning streak against top 20 opponents so to increase her own player ranking after today's match against a tough player in Bencic.

Sad that the streak ended. She was still fighting in the first set, but the energy just wasn't there anymore. In the second set, she really struggled to score, so I think all the continuous matches finally caught up with her. Maybe the injury also affected her a little, even though she said she was fine. Still, it was a good run.

At least now she can rest early and prepare for the next tournament.
Hopefully she can start another winning streak there.

That's the thing with women's tennis.... it's crazy unpredictable unlike men's tennis which is usually dominated by a certain number of players every year. There are very few female players who have dominated the game such as Serena, Navratilova etc.

Sabalenka could be one of them primarily due to her strong personality in my opinion which is why I would never count her out even if she struggles here and there.
