It depends on how do you define long. If 1 year is long enough for you than do not invest but if 10 years or more you are talking about than I think you should invest.
why not? 1 year is good too! Especially when the halving is coming soon! if you had said this at the time when OP posted he would have doubled his investment |

for me buying 1 btc for now is a good investment
my prediction for this few years is bitcoin price is going to raise
so if you have money buy now and invest it, hopefully in few years you will see your investing result
I can't say invest on bitcoin will profitable. Because i had a lot friends loss a lot money in bitcoin. But because the price of bitcoin already drop so many, "maybe" in future the btc price will going up again. But for sure, the bitcoiners (someone who hold BTC ) will keep increasing.. It depend on what when you sell your bitcoins as well. For now it's best to hold. Investing in bitcoin is better if you're going to do it on the long term. If you're looking for a quick buck I would advise against it. |

I do believe that it's a good investment to buy 1 bitcoin today. If you're holding for the long term it's always good. Nothing is set in stone so things could happen.
Ever since I started with bitcoin there has been ups and downs but to me, the ups make up for all the down times.

I agree. To see again the $1k coin is just a matter of time. And I believe it will be sooner than most of us will expect. I really think we could already see the $1000 again next year.Probably in Q4.Chance is 40-50% imo. |

The current price is quite high to be honest. I would not buy now, but wait till it go back to 350 and then buy again. You would be able to buy 30% more bitcoins then if you buy now.
But if the price rises more you would get less bitcoins. So in a sense it is how you feel about the short term value of bitcoin.
Will it go up? Then buy
Willit go down? Then be patient and buy at a lower price.

3 months can't be considered long term, so I think he means at least a year. If so, yeah he should buy 1 BTC but if he has more, just buy a lot of it |

It's not safe at all because the bitcoin market is very unstable. Nobody can say for sure that it will be a success. If you can afford it I would say yes, go buy your 1 bitcoin. If you're going to hold for at least a year, you'll be able to make some good profits on that next year. If you're looking for a quick buck, don't start investing in bitcoin.
