funny how comments of buy time come out when the price has gone up, but not when the price is down.

it was the best time to buy when everybody was crying about the price and calling bitcoin dead, and it was low at $200. now it is time to sit back and enjoy the ride Cheesy

So true. Money frequently is at the opposite side of general opinion.

Also, a trend is a trend... until the trend is broken and you lose money.

The trend is reversing. The price will rise soon. Bitcoin has limited supply so it is deflationary. So the price will rise eventually.

Just made myself $50+ per coin that I bought, so it's probably celebration for me haha. People haven't learned anything from the past terms and tend to make decisions when it's too late, that's why they lose money and balme bitcoin for their loss.

Well buying time was all the time we were under $250, and that was quite some time now. I don't know what happened to all those people that were begging for sub $300 coins when we were above this number.

They might be realizing now that this thing is about to take off. At least I hope that they do realize. Sooner or later this trend will reverse! And it seems now it's this time.

Would be perfect to buy if you already bought coins at over $800 mark but this short spike in the price wont last and I doubt very much it will reach $300.

Just hope it reaches $300 slowly and gradually.

Slow? How slow you think it should go up? $300 until the end of the year? Or until end of november for instance?
Bitcoin can be a beast sometimes so you have to take it how it comes.

It is very good price for those to buy who missed buying at 230 USD range and were expecting it to drops more but it happened other way.Bitcoin's price is to increase steadily till halving so still it is good price to buy and hold to make some profit over the time.

Buy time for when you plan to hold for a long time. Short term not so much.

When threads saying that it is time to buy start to dominate this section, usually it is time to sell

yes usually, short term maybe, but long term I still think we will average an uptrend through the halving.

Best thing to do in this situation is accumulate in small amounts, price averaging over weeks/months. Trying to catch a falling knife that may never drop is risky if you're investing longterm.

The price is still very low when you consider what bitcoin COULD become. 250 USD might look cheap in 10 years when 1 bitcoin is 10,000 USD. Who knows, that's why this is the speculation forum Smiley

yeah, of course if you believe in bitcoin and think it IS going to reach $1000, 10,000, .... then this is the lowest price. i do believe that i will still buy more bitcoin if i can get some more money these days.

all i am saying is, the best opportunity was when it was $50 cheaper per coin which means more profit.

I seriously wonder what the peak of the next run up will be.

If old trends hold, we might see prices as high as $25000.

I find this hard to believe, but that's what the numbers say.

If it's anything like 2011 or 2013 it will go roughly like this:

first run up will be towards $1200 (old ATH), price might meet some resistance at $700~800 but will quickly break to $1000 and beyond, probably meeting a lot of resistance near $1242, dropping to sub $1000 for a couple of days/weeks.

Many might expect a new multi-month or even multi-year bear market, but within several weeks we will get another rally, this time to $5000~7000 mark. After this it will likely drop to $3000 and stay there for a while.

From here it will either slowly drop back to approach $1500 over the course of several months/years but more likely it will go into a 3rd run, where it will definitely break $10000, but likely even reach $20000 or even $25000 before finally dropping back to a relatively stable $7000 ish.

It will most likely slowly drop form there and stay there for several months. Gaining a lot of media attention. A second rally might follow several months later, in anticipation of the halving. Maybe the third rally described above will be delayed to occur alongside the halving hype, which may drive the price to even greater highs. At least for a short while. Numbers in the 6 digits are not unthinkable.

"Insert a cautionary comment about how logarithmic charts do not always maintain forever"

"Prepares butthole for the coming ass rape of the bulltards"

they usually do not, but usually the reason is because they have saturated the market.

Bitcoin has in no way saturated the market, not even close.

there's no reason for bitcoin to not continue the logarithmic trend until its well in the 6 or even 7 figures. That is when it starts meeting serious resistance because of saturation.

If the price hover around $255 for a few weeks, it is good for the next up run.

I think you should buy now, people who plan to buy at a certain price nearly always lose it. It's better to buy now than miss out & regret it when we see 400+ next summer as a result of the halving.
